From William Shakespeare’s tragedy, Macbeth, the round character, Macbeth, is complex in multiple ways. Macbeth changes his reputation throughout the play. He is an ambitious character filled with self-doubt.
Macbeth slowly becomes corrupt over the course of the play. In the beginning, he is a Scottish nobleman who is loyal and heroic. By many the previous Thane of Cawdor is known by his bravery in battle. Macbeth becomes dishonest and unfaithful to the king. Macbeth and Lady Macbeth create an elaborate plan to murder the king, Duncan, in his slumber. After Macbeth becomes king by dishonest actions, the tyrannical Macbeth turns violent and is the opposite from the character he once was at the beginning of the play.
