Shakespeare may have written Macbeth two hundred years ago with a fine tipped feather pen to make a living. However, his intentions have been drastically blown out of the realm of classic drama. Critics come up with new wonders all the time questioning the true tragedy of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Was it a Tragedy or not? Who’s to answer the question except Shakespeare himself who due to the human life expectancy of eighty years cannot clarify it. We can only base our opinion on the great Aristotle’s definition of Tragedy. He basically said that you must feel pity for the hero to make his death tragic in this context of Tragedy.
I can completely understand where some people could see Macbeth as a tragedy and argue the exact opposite of me. Macbeth started out as a pretty nice guy and seemed to have everyone on his side. He had a great wife who loved him very much and a beautiful home, what more could a guy ask for. He was brave, strong and handsome. He was also part of the one of strongest nations in that part of the world at that time. His taunting ambition and gullibility had a terrible effect on his action. His loving wife, whom he trusted and cared for very much had something to do with the murder of too. His wife had a heavy hand on his thoughts and could manipulate him with ungodly ease. She tested Macbeths manhood and determination by questioning his integrity, and as all men know that is almost impossible to negate.
Then there was the witches, whose ability to fool with the minds of men almost killed the king themselves. Macbeth was gullible and those witches took advantage of that weakness quite well. They told him exactly what was needed to drive him right into action. The combination of the witches, Lady Macbeth and his blinding ambition was obviously enough to make him kill not only his majesty but also his friend. Those are all good points and like I said I understand why some people could feel bad for him and call the play a tragedy.
Well I don’t. How could I feel bad for someone who completely dictated his fate? I could care less how gullible or ambitious he was and quite frankly I think his death was a relief. At least since he died he couldn’t commit any more bloodshed or crush any more people’s lives.

This together proves that Macbeth was not a tragic hero. Even saying that he did not have the two previously spoken of characteristics, he also never did a single thing for the good of his people. He immediately let the witches prophecy go to his head. His thirst for power got the best of him which ultimately led to his death. Macbeth is not outstanding and virtuous because someone who needs to brutally kill someone else to get what they want does not fit the characteristics of a hero. He does many things wrong. Macbeth's over-zealousness for political power leads him to the murder of Duncan, the assassination of Banquo, and finally to the slaughter of Macduff's family. These events urge the uprising that eventually costs Macbeth his crown and his life, not to mention the wife he loses along the way (Studer 1). Worst of all, Macbeth disturbs the balance of nature. If he had just waited for his time, he would have been king, and have had a chance to enjoy it.
Today the US now imprisons more people than any other country in the entire world. The US has approximately “1.8 million people behind bars: about 100,000 in federal custody, 1.1 million in state custody, and 600,000 in local jails.” ¹ The inmate population in America has grown so big that it is hard to even comprehend it. Think about the combined populations of some of the largest cities in the nation – Atlanta, Miami, ECT. – the inmate population exceeds that. Marc Mauer in his book The Race to Incarcerate says, "No other society in human history has ever imprisoned so many of its own citizens for the purpose of crime control… We have embarked on a great social experiment"
This quote from Dave Kelly shows many of the issues with the United State’s criminal justice system today. The prison population is increasing because prisoners are being taken in at a higher rate than they are released. Also these prisons have become dangerous; inmates are exposed to a great deal of violence inside prison walls. These problems do not result from stingy spending on the prisons, which can be seen from the billions of dollars that are thrown at prisons to keep U.S. citizens locked up. This dangerous and inefficient system must be reformed for the benefit of U.S. citizens that are involved in them whether through paying taxes or being in these prisons. Although the fear of punishment deters crime, United States criminal justice systems should focus on rehabilitation.
Macbeth’s villainy is shown when he kills Macduffs family and consorts with the witches but Macbeth is also a man of action, brave and daring. Macbeth killed Macduffs family because Macduff fled to England “His wife his babes, and all unfortunate souls”. Macbeth also consorts with witches in this scene to find out what will happen to him and his kingdom “Even till destruction sicken-answer me / To what I ask you.”. Macbeth is not all bad just because he does this he is also a brave and daring man of action.
From the beginning of the Criminal Justice System, the obsession was with prison and punishment. In the last few years, this focus forced the jail and prison populations to skyrocket higher than any other place in the world. There is never a class we are not reminded there are currently 2.3 million people in United States prisons and jails. The criminal justice system or the correctional system has not changed yet remained its focus on deterrence and isolation not on the proactive ways of dealing with crime.
In order for Macbeth to become king, he killed King Duncan, which made a lot of people dislike Macbeth. MAcbeth chose to do this since he chose power over integrity. Macbeth made his image even worse as he continued to murder people and act like a fool. This led people to dislike Macbeth even more and then realize that he was not a smart King. Lastly, since Macbeth was not a likeable character he should be condemned and disdained due to his idiotic behaviors. Throughout the story, there is a feeling of animosity toward Macbeth in response to his deleterious actions. However, scenes revealing Macbeth's more admirable side balance and even abet that negative feeling.

Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” explores a fundamental struggle of the human conscience. The reader is transported into the journey of a man who recognizes and acknowledges evil but still succumbs to its destructive powers. The character of Macbeth is shrouded in ambiguity that scholars have claimed as both being a tyrant and tragic hero. Macbeth’s inner turmoil and anxieties that burden him throughout the entire play evoke sympathy and pity in the reader. Though he has the characteristics of an irredeemable tyrant, Macbeth realizes his mistakes and knows there is no redemption for his sins. And that is indeed tragic.
Examine the causes of the problem: The problem is that JetBlue focused on expansion during its’ initial success. Profits realized at this time were used to acquire a larger fleet, expand routes, enlarge staff and increase terminal space. Seemingly, the primary focus was rapid growth, with an assumption that it would be rewarded with future profits. When profits began to decline, JetBlue chose to focus on competition making changes that would allow them to compete more directly with larger airlines. JetBlue became vulnerable to its competition when management made the choice to shift focus from customer service to expansion.
This is an immensely wrong ideology because we need to work to have less people in prison and more people in school, which is not the case in the United States. All of these prisons and prisoners cost taxpayers billions of dollars every year that could be used for better things. We are spending billions of dollars on a system that keeps on creating more prisons and system that incarcerates people with nonviolent crimes. We need to think about the consequences that this system is creating and use our resources in better ways. Also “Over 2.2 million people are currently in U.S. jails or prisons.” (Borowski, 2016). This is the highest incarceration in the world how broken the criminal justice system is. We only compromise of five percent of the world’s population but we have the highest incarceration. This just an immediate need for a reform to the criminal justice system that is destroying millions of people’s
