from her parents and manage her own life. First, Luma is self-reliant. She will do whatever it takes to support herself and get what she wants. After Luma graduated from William Smith college she decides to stay in America and she let her family know, she is not coming back to Jordan, over the telephone. Luma’s father tells Luma that if she doesn’t return to Jordan she will be disinherited absolutely. Luma didn’t listen to her father and stayed in America. Losing a family for wanting to be independent requires a lot of courage. Luma did not only lost her family for the decision she made but also all financial support. Luma said, “I went from being able to walk into any restaurant and store in the united states and buy whatever I wanted to having nothing” (23). She didn’t want any help from her family she wanted to take care of herself without anyone's help. Another personality trait that Luma has is being fearless.
She is not afraid of anything. For example, she wasn't afraid of losing her family for standing up for herself. While Luma was in North Carolina she decided to move to Atlanta. Luma’s friends were against Luma moving to Atlanta. According to St.John, Luma’s friends were worried that a Muslim woman from Jordan wouldn’t fit in down in Dixie town. Luma also didn’t know anybody in Atlanta. She didn't even know at Atlanta that well except that it has warm weather. She wasn’t scared to move to a place where she didn't know anybody. St.John sated, Luma moved to Atlanta without any support from anyone and she found a tiny apartment near Decatur, a picturesque and progressive suburb east of Atlanta anchored by an old granite courthouse with grand Corinthian columns. Luma is determined to survive and to make it on her own. For one to survive by his/her own, one has to be at least fearless and Luma is as fearless as a honey badger.
Luma’s two primary personality traits are being fearless and self-reliant . However, Luma has many great personalities that foreshadow she will get what she wants in life at some point because of who she is at the moment. Luma being fearless and self-reliant are two of the big factors that show she will be successful in what she will do next with her
life.
The first representation of the beast that the author portrays is fear. In document A, “... Begin to people the darkness of night and forest with spirits and demons which had previously appeared only in their dreams or fairy tales”. To clarify, the children’s imagination runs rampant without their parents to banish their fears, so their imagination creates something of a beastie-thing. In document

Throughout the whole book, too, the concept of a “Beast” was prevalent. At first, it was believed by the boys that the Beast had only a physical manifestation - yet, as the story had progressed, it was revealed that the Beast was not something tangible, but instead, something within all of them - the root of all human savagery and
The fear of the beast, was an essential one to the story of The Lord of the Flies, as it manifests into different characters.
The curiosity of what our destiny will be and what our future holds has crossed our minds once or twice. Destiny is the conclusion to many life situations we are faced with in our everyday lives, but no one could figure out what their destiny is until the time is right. Antonio from the novel Bless Me, Ultima written by Rudolfo Anaya and Paikea from Whale Riders run through many conflicts trying to seek their destinies. Antonio, must choose to follow her mother’s footsteps of tending the land or become free and wild like his father and older brothers as well as deciding whether or not to follow and walk alongside Ultima, even if she may be evil. Unlike Antonio, Paikea must prove to herself and her grandfather that she is able to lead her tribe out of depression and laziness, even if she may not physically hold the components of becoming a leader. Both Antonio and Paikea are able to find their destinies, but they each have unique and individual experiences of family pressure, spiritual leaders and becoming a leader.
Characteristics of evil, which are representative of the beast, can only be controlled through the fear of the laws of which society mandates. The absence of the enforcement of laws permits and therefore encourages the presence of barbarism, which the boys refer to as the beast. This beast, shown in the boys, is a form of savagery that they display throughout the entire novel, and through the exposure of their savagery, their true evil nature is revealed. These savage dark impulses of human nature present in everyone is commonly found in modern society. Only through the existence of regulations can this beast be controlled by the fear of the people living in society themselves.
In conclusion, in Lusus Naturae we see what it is like to be deemed a monster by both your family and community through the eyes of a young girl afflicted with a condition that makes her appearance look monstrous. We see how the Narrator’s family and community treats her because of her family’s shame and the community’s ignorance of her being a human being with feelings. Lusus Naturae allows us to see that it is not wise to judge a book by its cover or a “monster” by its
(#4) The British naturalist and politician John Lubbock wrote, “Your character will be what you yourself choose to make it.” Do we choose our own character traits, or is our character formed by influences beyond our control? In other words, Character is the qualities that vary in individuals.Childrens character is the most concerned these days. Adults believe that character in a child is usually developed depending of how the child was raised during childhood however, rising 9th graders, believe that they can self mold themselves a character through finding friends and making mistakes in high school. What many people fail to realize is that it all varies on the child.
Nelson Mandela was a leader who was able to make change occur by having self-discipline and an aim for achievement. Not only did he want change so he could live a better life, but he also wanted change for his people. His desire for change and to help others is an example of his personality. Therefore, Mandela’s personality is a perfect example of the conscientiousness factor of the psychological perspective of the Big Five Personality Dimensions developed by Paul Costa and Robert McCrae.
The beast symbolizes the growing fear that lies dormant, deep in the children’s souls and turns the boys into uncivilized beings. William Golding uses the beast to instill fear in the souls of the boys. While everyone is scared of the beast and questioning what it exactly is, Simon suggests something else. He agrees with everyone that the beast might just exist. But unlike everyone else, Simon comments, "maybe it's only us.” (Golding 89) This comment shows that the beast might just coexist in their bodies. The beast is just made up and not real, and only a product of their increasing fear of the unknown. The fear of the beast activates their primal instincts and makes them lose all grasps of civilization. Without the mindset to survive, the boys struggle to find food and build shelter efficiently. They slowly lose everything they had when they came to the island. The boys are acting like Native Americans in a sense because their actions resemble the Native Americans through the chanting, dancing and face painting to represent power and fierceness. The settlement on the deserted island triggers the fear that lies deep in them. Each person on the island comb...

Another fact is that personality can be described just by the name. An example, on my research I found web sites with my name wich described my personality. Kabalarians.com/male/judith.htm., "Judith is happiest when associating with singing, dancing, and having a good time." Accordingly, all this quote describes me perfectly because I always like to be happy and having a good time with my friends. For example, If I am spending time with my friends, I like to be thinking positive and enjoying it as much as I can. I have never liked to see any of my friends sad or with problems, if that is the case I try to cheer them up. I also found some weaknesses, kabalarians.htm., "Over indulgence in food or emotional desires could cause you to have problems in your nervous system." Without a doubt this totally describes me. There is times when emotional desires get to me and take time to get them out of my activities.
