Born approximately 1445-1447 in his home of Sansepolcro, Italy, Pacioli had lived a very spontaneous life of constant travel. Pacioli did not live with his father, Bartolomeo Pacioli, rather with the Befolci family in his birthplace. It is unclear why Pacioli didn’t live with his father, however, Pacioli found himself going about life with ease. Pacioli had received an education at the Studio of Della Francesca, located in Sansepolcro, in which he became educated in mathematics. He eventually left Sansepolcro and ventured into Venice in 1464 there he had tutored three sons of a successful merchant, Antonio Rompiasi. The nineteenth century introduced several great leaders into this world, many recognized by historians today. These men, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and others, have all been honored and commemorated for their contributions. One such leader, José Martí, continues to remain anonymous outside the Hispanic community, and hidden in the shadows cast by these men. His name does not appear in the history books or on the tongues of many proud Americans, for he was neither a citizen of America nor an American hero.
On August 23, 1927, Nicola Sacco and Barolomeo Vanzetti were executed in one of the most controversial legal cases in American history. Two men were shot and robbed in Braintree, MA, and two poor Italian immigrants were arrested for the crime. Although neither Sacco nor Vanzetti had criminal records, they both had pistols on them at the time, and followed a violent anarchist leader. Following their arrest, the seven-year case on the crime would drive national and international protests demanding their exoneration. There were numerous elements in the trial that influenced the guilty verdicts for the men including, but not limited to, weak evidence. The Sacco Vanzetti trial displays the social injustices and prejudice in American society during the time. It is evident that even though they are innocent, the court used Sacco and Vanzetti as scapegoats in this crime because of their beliefs and background.

Confucius once said, “The strength of a nation derives from the integrity of the home.” Many people across the world deem family as the most important aspect of their life. Changes must be made and these two men came forward with plans, ready to implement, if given a chance.
