My first 3 months in the community were so boring, because I needed to stay inside our house and take care of my baby sister while my mom and dad were working. Now that the school year was about to start, I felt so excited to have new friends. I hope that this school year would not be bad as I think it would be. It was my first year at Macrovan High School in Smilven, England, a spacious Catholic school. I look around me and I see everyone busy doing something with a purpose. I don’t know anyone, I feel so lost and insignificant. This new school has 3 buildings. All I have right now with me is a timetable to guide me through this massive campus. My first class is in the east wing and I’m near the west wing. I have five minutes to get there. I knew that today would be a nerve-racking day. As I ran through the yard trying not to trip I noticed that a lot of trees surrounded the school, and they almost seemed non-existent to the people shuffling by. As I walked through the corridors, I felt as though I was walking through a maze. The students seemed to be very friendly and cheerful like they almost knew each other. They were like a community and I was an outsider looking in. My name is Lauren De Silva and I just moved here from California with my family three months ago because my dad had a job transfer. This town seems to be bigger than the town I used to live in. Back to my story, many people say that I look prettier with my hair down. But I always loved to tie my hair up because it is pretty long and dark brown hair with some highlights. I’m tall but not too tall, about 5 feet. I wore glasses, which made others perceive me as a geeky student who only cared about grades. All my things with me were pink because it is my favorite co... ... middle of paper ... ...and a knight that evening. A few days later, he asked me out with a beautiful poster. It said "Will you be my girlfriend and stay forever?" The poster also had some heart shaped sticky notes where he wrote everything he liked about me as well as the good things that happened between us. He said that he started writing these sticky notes when we first met each other. It was the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for me and now, our relationship is going strong. We have been dating for three years and we are now engaged. My parents also knew about our relationship and advised us to finish college first before settling together. When I looked back at the past, I never imagined we would end up together. I always used to think that guys like him would never like, or date someone like me, but here I am today, the luckiest girl in the world to have Jonathan Lemuel Garcia.
I had a good year in first grade. I became the best artist in the class. I started getting better at English. My first word was “bathroom.” I made two friends Michelle Sherman and Karen Calle. After that I started feeling better and actually liking this school. Everything felt better and worked out great!
Few weeks after I got here in the United States of America, I finally started my life as an American student. My heart was beating so fast as if it was being played as drums heavily. I was panting quite ponderously, do not know what to expect. I closed my eyes as I carefully stepped outside my car, and then finally opened my eyes. It surprised me how enormous my new high school is. Not to mention, how inappropriate our school building seem to be. The architect of my new high school decided that it would be appropriate to create a phallic shaped school for high school students. Ironic, I thought. I disregarded the fact for a mere second, as I carefully entered my new school. Everything felt weird. People here were so different I thought. I felt as if I was in a box of crayon. Everyone’s color seems to vary from one another. It was such a diverse place. From blonde hair blue eyed people, to black hair slanted eye Asians, to big black afro haired, voluptuous lips Africans. “Interesting”, I whispered. I waltzed in towards my new classroom as I shyly entered...
The first time I met him my heart felt as though I had met him before. There are no words that can clearly articulate the connection. It was a magnetic energy, an intuitive knowing and everything felt right. There was no matter of space or time but we had found our way to each other, there was an instant feeling of security, he fit so perfectly into my life it was as if somehow he had been there all along. He was someone that I couldn't imagine being without.
Well I use to believe that love couldn't be made at first sight. But yet now today I do think it happens. I will now share what I think love means.
We met at an open lounge night back in 1940. I got up to sing and I was singing acapella then next thing I know I heard music and I opened my eyes to turn around and there he was. I was blown away by his talent and his looks. We were like the dynamic duo. He is tall about 5”9 and a slender build, dark skin and smart. We could go anywhere and he just fits in. That summer was the greatest summer of my life because he was a part of it. He left to go into the army and I wrote him every day for a year. Then he showed up at my church and proposed to me and why wouldn’t I say yes to the love of my life. We were married for 40 years and he was a provider. My children and I never had to want for anything. He pays the bills and bought the food, did I tell you he can cook. How many men do you know that can cook? I was truly blessed to have that man as my
Every day that I wake up and every night before I fall asleep, I thank God that we met, because without you I would be nothing. Through the hard times you have held my hand, through the rough times you have held me close to you, and through the ups and downs you have stayed by my side. What else could I ask for? When I am sick you tuck me in. You have brought back the person that everyone loved and have helped me learn to be the person I always wanted and knew I could be.
It was like living a dream. He took me out to dinner, met my parents –
Seven thirty in the morning, confused, and gazing at my first experience of college I had no idea what this semester would have in store for me. Within the second story of Vawter Hall about fifty to a hundred students are crowding the hall awaiting the arrival of their professors. I was no different; unlike these other chatty energetic individuals I was alone, and desperate to get this first day over with. At eight o’clock bells chime through the building and the students have now dwindled down to those who I will later come to know as classmates and those few who had overslept on the first day. Eight fifteen, the little crowd starts to stir; the professor has still yet to arrive. Around eight twenty a woman with short cut hair arrives in a hurried manner, clearly upset to have arrived after her students. However, to her surprise, and those of her students, the door was
I nervously opened the doors to my future, hoping for the best for myself. At first, I believed departing to class would be simple, but when the bell rang for the first time I had no idea what class room goes where and how busy the halls were going to be. Suddenly, the entire world around me scrambled to class, and on occasions bumping each other along the way; it was a widespread panic for most of the freshmen. Fortunately, I found some wonderful teachers to direct me to my rooms that I will spend the next year
Seven years have passed since our first encounter and in those past seven years, we have made many memories and parted ways several times. Whenever we parted ways, we were led back to each other as if there was a spark between us. Ever since you entered my life I felt as if God somehow sent one of his angels down to me. Over the last few months, I feel like my heart has grown stronger because of the love I have for you. This love gets stronger and stronger each and every day.
Then he asked me if I had ever been kissed, this sent me into a near heart attack mode. I admitted that I hadn’t been kissed before. Then boy in front of me, the one who always held confidence, who knew so much of himself so well prior to those who do that are much older than we, blushed and apologized sincerely for not having been a better person to me and not having something to offer me this day. He looked back up at me with confidence and more love in his eyes that I had ever seen at the time. And then, Jordan softly placed his hand behind my neck, not intimately or anything like that, but in a more comforting way, moving my hair behind my shoulder and said, “If I can offer you anything special, a small gift in a small way,” and he kind of laughed at that, his voice softened again and he finished, “If you’ll let me, I’ll give you your first kiss.” The shock in my eyes must have been apparent, of course no one had ever said anything so romantic to me in my whole life (Again, I just turned fourteen), I nodded –a huge blush gracing my face as well as much as
Vincent and I met when we were in grade school, and since then we have grown into best friends and then into boyfriend and girlfriend for more than a year now. Vincent was from the class below me, and while I was heading to another college, we decided to start talking and ended up being in a relationship, knowing that it would be a long distance relationship. We entered into a long distance relationship having in mind that we were in school and needed to accommodate our relationship as best we could.
It was finally the first day of school; I was excited yet nervous. I hoped I would be able to make new friends. The first time I saw the schools name I thought it was the strangest name I’ve ever heard or read, therefore I found it hard to pronounce it in the beginning. The schools’ floors had painted black paw prints, which stood out on the white tiled floor. Once you walk through the doors the office is to the right. The office seemed a bit cramped, since it had so many rooms in such a small area. In the office I meet with a really nice, sweet secretary who helped me register into the school, giving me a small tour of the school, also helping me find
It was a gloomy Tuesday despite the fact that it was late August. I had missed the first day of school because I always hated the idea of introductions and forced social situations during those times. I hated my particular school ever since I started as a freshman the
