Lessons of Love What does it mean to finish what we start? That we are to tie up loose ends, reach the finish line, or perhaps even to finish by ceremony. I have a story to tell, one that changed my entire life, that defined who I am as a person. Met a girl. Fell in love. She moved, stopped talking with me. Made me question why? Why do I push to finish what I’ve committed to? Is it for the completion of a task, for perhaps the ability to learn from my choices. Throught my relationship with her I learned many great lessons. It kills me to know that she was just a helping hand and nothing more, maybe that’s best for both of us. For each lesson I learned I would like to dedicate a portion of my paper. Let 's start at the beginning. To ask …show more content…
Pretty, somewhat insecure, and full of questions. After a time I came to know her better as a person, not as an entity. I would come to talking with her at every chance I could. One of life’s greatest mysteries is why we are so easy to trust, to care, and to hope. Why would I care to talk with this girl? Why care about her, or even hope to talk with her. The reason, I wanted to start something. Something that I would eventually have no control over. An overused word: Dating. Only one thing stood before me and Cameron. A boyfriend. Thus began my journey to achieve my goals. After many months of talking and receiving hell for what was to come, they eventually broke up during a school trip to Florida. Her sisters were giving her hell, yelling at her. …show more content…
They were incontestably happy around one another. There had been times I would have just let Cameron go and let them date, maybe then things would have been different. Being the fool I am, I struggled harder to hold onto what was left. Then she moved. The last day she was at school, we were saying goodbye. Somehow deep down, I knew it would be the last one. Funny how we always know, but can never react to what’s in front of us the entire time. I had planned on so much that year. Then reality struck all at once. I learned over the course of the following weeks: Pretending that everything is fine will never be worthy of anyone 's time. That you either do, or not do. Simply put, I lost her for my unwillingness to stand up and
I saw her cry so many times throughout the last two years of high school and every time I did I’d always make sure to go over to her house after softball practice. I always wanted to make sure she was okay and if I couldn’t go over I would call her after and just listen and let her vent. The first time I decided to go over was pretty nerve wracking because we weren’t entirely friends yet. We talked and laughed together in class and I would come over to work on homework with her but it wasn’t ever for anything not school related so I was really uncertain on coming over unannounced. I eventually made up my mind and picked up whataburger meals with milkshakes and went over. I didn’t know what I was expecting but it certainly wasn’t what I saw because when I got there she looked completely fine and I was expecting some form of emotional mess. This was a type of Atypical dissonance because I had begun to expect her to be crying all the time but as I got to know her I learned that her parents weren’t really involved in her personal life and they always expected perfection. I finally realized that all those times I saw her crying at school were because she wasn’t able to cry at home. Eventually after realizing this and I knew she was upset I would pick her up and we’d get food from the drive-thru so we could sit in the car, talk, and
In Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the characters Hermia and Lysander are faces with a difficult situation when they want to be married and are forbidden to by Hermia’s father, who instead wishes her to be married to another young man, Demetrius. Hermia and Lysander forced to plead her case to both her father and the duke of Athens, Theseus. But Theseus’ only words to Hermia are those that tell her she should be obedient to her father. Her pleas are essentially ignored. While it is unfortunate that her thoughts should not be given a second thought,
So maybe my story was pointless and you don't understand why I think curiosity is the cause of all things and why it kills all, but it killed my friendships, it killed my personality, it killed my life. But then she changed, a little, and we became friends again. Or at least I hope...
Many people have different perspectives when it comes to the topic of love. The word love has been tossed around by everybody and not very many people really understand the true meaning of love. There are some exceptions, but I think this is especially true for teenagers and young adults. I might be one of those people who do not fully understand the topic of love, but I hope to better understand the topic of love and its true meaning is this course.
Love, that single feeling which generates the funny sensations in people's stomach, giving them the warm pleasures in their body, causing them to feel joy, and to believe every aspect in their life is right. It causes them to receive an exhilarating, appealing feeling that makes them want to rejoice. Love can be a speeding of their heart, but it can also be nerve-racking. It makes their hearts begin to rapidly pump, making a rapid beat— “ba-boom, ba-boom, ba-boom”. Attempting to describe love is a rigorous task, but it is possible. However, the easiest detail to describe and understand about love is not so much the feeling of it, but the concept of what it is about. Many people may obtain different views and definitions regarding love, but
“Love is universally accepted by many people and the concept of love within the English language refers to a variety of different approaches, states and attitudes, ranging from pleasure to interpersonal attraction.” (Kendrick 123) My characterization of love encourages the intimate emotion I partake for my family. The distinct connection that we fashioned and the invaluable moments that we consolidated. In the perceptive of a mother, my children are my supremacy and the greatest blessing of my lifecycle. They’re my inspiration and motivation to continue progressing and becoming the best at what I do. With that in mind, Love relics your outlooks and approaches the linkage they become associated with. Consequently, this condition can fluctuate over a period of a specific time. Additionally, depending on your situation, your perspective on love can be an altering affect, creating a stable or inconsistent assessment. Furthermore, causing your love to intensify, decline, or even cease. Love in its essence, stands justly powerful and the beauty of it advances,
Love is a weird feeling. It’s been said that love has nothing to do with your heart, it 's all chemical reactions inside of your brain. Infatuation, attraction, crush is such powerful feelings that people do think that they are in love. Also, it is blind to the other person’s weaknesses and exaggerates his or her strengths. Similarly, infatuation often fades within a short time. However, true love is so real and so strong, strong enough that if it came down to it you would even die for your partner. Love as much more than a feeling. It is based on a well-rounded knowledge of a person’s strengths and weaknesses. Not so in the case of China and Jeremy, in T. Coraghessan Boyle “The Love of my Life.” Before we talk about them
Love is one of those things that means different things to different people. If you would look the word love up in the dictionary, you would find this: “an intense feeling of deep affection.” For some people, love can be purely romantic or even just purely sexual. For others, real love can only exist between family members or between people and a god. For some people, it is felt for your partners, family, pets, or even inanimate objects. None of the people are right or wrong, but I do know one thing, love is very powerful. Love is overused in today's world, people say they love someone because of the way they look or their body. That isn't love. To me, love is the most spectacular, indescribable, deep euphoric
I left work today realizing just how fortunate I am to be on the track towards a successful career. And on top of that, the fact that I actually enjoy my job makes it even better! It's definitely been a long road.
We all fall in love at some point in our lives whether it be a passion, faith, or another person. Falling in love is a natural human behavior. It ensures the continuance of the human race through reproduction. Love is often considered a mystery because of its unexplainable feelings. It is the personal and affectionate relationship between two people. Researchers have discovered the biological reasons behind falling in love. The brain controls the signals that release chemicals and hormones in your body to give that rush that love brings.
Love happens when you least expect it. It can happen on the street corner, at the bar, at the grocery store, the park. That’s one of the greatest things about love. As for me I found love in the pouring down rain in the middle of the street. I fell in love with a man who I never thought in a million years I’d fall for. A man who is loving, caring and respectful. The night I laid my eyes on him I knew he was it. He came into my life at a point when I was unraveling and losing control. I was lost for two years after my high school sweetheart and I broke up, I thought I was never going to find real love, but I did. He saved me and I remember every minute from that night.
It all started out when my very shy, self-conscious sister didn’t really fit in well. She was 16, chubby, and had very few friends. One day, Becky’s best friend Debbie introduced her to a 19 year old guy named John. Becky and John hit it off very well and started dating by the next week. They spent all their time together; he came to our family events but was very quiet and didn’t really talk to anyone besides my sister.
When I was a young girl in elementary school I developed a friendship with a girl that lived a block from me. We began visiting each other’s homes every day. Having sleep overs, riding the bus together and even sitting with each other during lunch. We developed a friendship that couldn’t be broken. It didn’t matter that I was African American and she was Caucasian her whole family made me feel like I was one of their own. While I didn’t know much about anything and didn’t really know what family meant I learn it from her family. She taught me how to line dance and I learn to love his strange music that was peaceful and full of love called country music. It had a way of making your feel happy when you were down. We formed a bond and became best friends she was the only friend I had and I remember when her other friends came to visit I grew kind of jealous because I thought they would take her away from me and I would be all alone again so I became distant. She was such a great friend and for somehow she knew what was bothering me without me even having to say anything so she told me that it shouldn’t worry we will always be friends and it’s okay to have more than one best friend. She was so wise for her age I use to think to myself. As I grew older my mother and siblings and I moved out of town and I lost connection with her but with the increased technology like Facebook we have reconnected. I believe attraction played a major part on us becoming friends. Our friendship started on the school bus on the ride home from school. A couple of bullies started picking on her because of her freckles and fi...
There are many positive things and negative things about the movie and the story. In the movie
What is love? Love is a very special and meaningful word to each human being. Each human being has his/her own thoughts about love to guide himself/herself to land safely and smoothly into the kingdom of Love. Without this preconceived idea of love, people would be acting like a blind person searching for the light with thousand of obstacles in front of him.
