Love exists everywhere. There are many different forms of love today: love for relatives, love for a boyfriend/girlfriend, or love for the teacher that rounded up your grade. Oftentimes, love consists of going overboard to prove worthiness or to keep the feeling alive. High School homecoming’s are the perfect time for young boys to go way overboard for girls that they are not even in love with. Ryan, a high school sophomore, is a prime example. Standing on a roof, holding a sign reading, “Clare I’ll jump if you say no to HC,” Ryan asked his friend Clare to homecoming. Clare was presently surprised when she arrived to a party finding her friend on a roof expressing to everyone how badly he wanted to attend homecoming with her. Oberson is really involved with the relationships of others and is in a very open one himself. At one point, Oberson demands, “Fetch me that flower. The herb I showed thee once./ The juice of it on sleeping eyelids laid/ Will make or man or woman madly dote/ Upon the next live creature that it sees.” (2.1.155-158) to Robin Goodfellow/Puck, another fairy who serves him. Oberson is saying that he needs Puck to bring him a flower that he had previously showed him because he wants to use the juice to put on someone’s eyes when they are sleeping. This will cause the person to fall in love with the next person she sees. Oberson says this because he wants to pour it in his wife's eyes, so he can obtain the stolen child that she refused to give him. Then his plan is to use the potion again to reverse the effects and she will fall back in love with Oberson. Oberson is going way overboard to make his wife love someone else. He loves his wife and his love is driving him to blind her from his actions. Even though Oberson is not using the potion to make her love him, he is using it to gain what he wants while going out of his way to preserve the love him and his wife
