Love
“Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible- it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could.” --Barbara de Angelis
Love is a very tangible thing. It can be easily manipulated, and it has no boundaries. It works alongside many different feelings such as respect, and passion, and comes in many different forms. Some say it is the one thing a person needs to survive; others call it a drug so toxic that nothing can stop the addiction. True love however is something that is very rare, and when it is found, it cannot be stopped. Love is magic, love is truth, but most importantly, love is happiness.
In Excalibur, many different types of love existed. There was the love of family for one; Arthur really loved his father Ector and his brother Kay, and they returned that love and respect. “At first [I did so] because I feared Merlin, but later because I loved you.” The love of family is the strongest. You may love other people or things, but they might not be by your side forever. Family will always be there for you. ... chemistry; it seemed as if they had just met each other and. I don’t think the actors had enough time to get to know their characters because they didn’t seem to embody them well. Also, the choice of music was poor. They played the same song over and over, and to top it all off, they played it in the wrong spots too. For a movie aimed towards teen audiences, they sure had a lot of dirty, gory scenes. I’ve watched many gory movies, but this one has me scarred. Also, I’m not sure what was with their voices, because I’m pretty sure English people don’t have accents like that. And what was with Merlin? When I saw him for the first time I was confused. I guess it was because I was expecting someone like Gandalf, but still, he was weird. So, to sum it all up, this movie was so bad it was almost comical, and I definitely wouldn’t watch it again, or recommend it to anyone.
