Alright, fantasy basketball fans time for my next NBA team preview. Today, I’ll be analyzing three players from the Los Angeles Lakers and discussing how they can benefit your fantasy teams in 2015-16. The Lakers are one of the NBA’s most decorated franchises, but these days they’ve lost their winning ways. From Kobe Bryant being injured the last two seasons to no big name free agents wanting commit to them, the Lakers have been a major let down over the past few years. There are brighter days coming to Los Angeles though, with rookie D’Angelo Russell coming to town and Bryant finally getting healthy, the Lakers fantasy outlook is better for this upcoming season.
So, here’s my NBA team preview for the Los Angeles Lakers:
D’Angelo Russell, PG

Russell will be one of the top rookies entering the 2015-16 NBA season.
He was drafted with the 2nd pick overall by the Lakers and I have high hopes he’s going to be an instant impact in fantasy this season. In just one season at Ohio State, Russell averaged 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. He also shot a nice 41 percent from three-point range, making him a very viable option for fantasy. Russell was a force to be reckoned with in college, which should spill over into his NBA career.
Will Russell be this year’s ROY? I think he has the most upside overall to achieve this goal because of his raw athletic talent. Playing alongside Kobe Bryant will give him a ton of opportunities to rack up some assists at the point guard position. One exciting aspect of this Lakers’ squad is that they are a young and fast-paced team. With fellow point guard Jordan Clarkson, Russell should thrive in this offense and really put up solid rookie season numbers. The one aspect of Russell that I like the most is his moxie, he’s so confident with his skills and really shows it on the basketball court.
Fantasy Prediction for
2015-16 15.0 points, 7.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game Roy Hibbert, C After seven seasons with the Indiana Pacers, Hibbert finally moved on from a bad situation. He just didn’t seem to fit in or be wanted in Indiana and now he’s with a Lakers team who can appreciate the big guy. Hubert has averaged 11.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game for his career. He doesn’t put up explosive offensive numbers, but he does get the job done overall at both ends of the court. Hibbert was an absolute monster during his time at Georgetown, but with the Pacers I just didn’t see that same focus from him. The change of scenery will do wonders for his game in my opinion, revitalizing his career. The best part about drafting Hibbert for fantasy is the fact that he is the go-to center for the Lakers. Robert Sacre isn’t really a viable option is he? Hibbert’s defensive game is my favorite aspect of his game. He can easily get between two or three blocks per game, which is a nice stat for your category style fantasy leagues. Is Hibbert going to come in and be the best fantasy center of this decade? No, but he’s going to be a solid player who you can get late in your upcoming drafts. Fantasy Prediction for 2015-16 12.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game Julius Randle, PF Randle will have to battle with Brandon Bass to see who the starting power forward will be for the L.A. this season. Although, Bass is a good player, Randle is a massively talented guy who can really make waves this year. This is Randle’s second NBA season, however, he only played in one game last year before suffering a broken leg, so we’ll look at his college stats. In one season at the University of Kentucky, Randle averaged 15.0 points, 10.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. With the likes of Hibbert and Bass alongside him, he should be a viable option at power forward. Not only is Randle healthy coming into the 2015-16 season, I read a report where he has lost 20 pounds this off-season. This shows us that he’s dedicated and is ready to be a starter at the professional level. If Randle, is in fact, a starter, I don’t see any reason not to draft him. He could easily be a double-double threat every night he takes the floor. Randle has comeback player of the year candidate written all over him. Fantasy Prediction for 2015-16 14.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game
The source that I used, “Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Biography” by Biography.com no authors are listed is a great source that gave me a lot of information that will help me with my reader response essay. I came across this website by entering my search question into Google. After looking through a dozen of articles “Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Biography” had the most detailed information of all the links. This article gave me a lot of information that will be correlating to my search question which is this: What major influences did Kareem Abdul-Jabbar have in his basketball career? The “Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Biography” article had three sections that broke
His team is winning, and he’s the main reason why. It’s not that Kyrie hasn’t been great, but he obviously isn’t the main reason why Cleveland is winning, and to be fair, the Cavs have been a little disappointing in their championship defense. Another overlooked player is Paul Millsap. Although Jimmy Butler and Giannis Antetokounmpo have been better statistically speaking, Millsap has been solid and the Hawks have a winning record. R Bholat (): Every upcoming All-Star weekend gives us a few snubs about the big mid-season game that gets fans all over the world ranting to anyone who will listen.
Steve Nash is considered one of the greatest point guards in the first decade of NBA, and he already became a national hero in Canada based on his tremendous achievement as a professional basketball player. However, according to his interview, Nash was considered a player without sufficient talent to be even a good college player in the United States. No college was willing to offer him a scholarship initially, because he was a Caucasian player from Canada. Caucasian players were widely considered as athletic inferior to African players, and Canada was also considered a country that has few talented basketball players. This is a typical stereotype about Caucasian basketball players in NBA, and usually
Everybody had high expectations about him, they were seeing in him a new leader, a new beginning for the Pistons. He didn’t prove anybody wrong. He started at the 1995 all-star game after becoming the first rookie ever to lead all players in fan voting. Along with Jason Kidd of the Dallas Mavericks, were co-voted as the Rookie Players of the Year. In the next four seasons, he started in all all-star games and averaged 23.2 Points Per Game, 7.6 Rebounds Per Game and 6.7 Assist Per Game.
...th American sport) led the NBA to name the finals MVP award after him. Russell was also one of the most genuinely liked players around the league, mostly for how he respected the game and everyone who played it. Even in his fiercest rivalries, many of which involved Wilt Chamberlain, the other dominant big man in the game at the time. He never let what happened on the floor impact how he treated him off the floor, and vice versa. There have been countless documentaries and books written about him all of which express how well liked he was along with his tremendous success. To me, he is one the prime examples of a star player on and off the court. He never let his talent or popularity take away from the morals he learned as a child and kept them with him all along. A quality, which I believe, everyone wishes to carry in their lives, wherever their path may take them.
The NBA is well known for the number of amazing professional athletes it has had over the years. Some of the most gifted and talented individuals come through the NBA and one of the better-known superstars is none other than Kobe Bryant. For years people have wondered what makes Bryant so successful. The main contributors that lead to Kobe Bryant’s success is his hard work and dedication, his mindset, his natural ability’s and talent, and the people that have helped him throughout his life. Kobe Bryant was very successful in the NBA because of the amount of hard work he has put in, the people in his life, his relentless determination and his god given natural abilities.
First, let me start off with the career of Kobe Bean Bryant who is currently on the Los Angeles Lakers. Kobe was first drafted into the NBA in the year 1996 by the Charlotte Hornets, but was later traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. The most amazing part about him being drafted was that
Kobe spent years trying to mimic everything about Michael Jordan including his footwork, shooting form etc. and it definitely payed off . Kobe has the 3rd most points scored of all time and he is the all time Lakers points leader. However, Kobe’s success is his but his influence is not, it belongs to Michael Jordan as it was Kobe who mimicked Jordan. The points scored by Kobe have an often unseen angle, Kobe also has the missed the most shots ever (Nba.com)). LeBron, on the other hand, is currently the youngest player to reach 20,000 points even though Kobe has played 6 more seasons than LeBron has out-rebounded, out-assisted, out-stole and out-blocked Kobe Bryant (nba.com). While doing so LeBron changed what constitutes all 5 positions, for example before LeBron, the point guard was the smallest player on the court who can dribble, but after LeBron’s arrival where he has dominated every position with his 6’8 280 pound frame and his incredible basketball IQ, the point guard has become the composer of the symphony that is an offensive possession in a game of basketball"LeBron James." It would seem that Russell Westbrook will keep on getting the acknowledgment he deserves.Nike Cortez calfskin Nike again will favor Westbrook, this time with a Hyperfuse 2011 Player Select. The point watch that presently coordinates the Oklahoma City Thunder and is the setup man for Kevin Durant has a PE that is currently accessible at online retailers. This is a perfect match. A standout amongst other performing basketball shoes will be shaken by extraordinary compared to other performing proficient basketball players. Similarly, as the Hyperfuse is a rising shoe star, Westbrook is a rising NBA genius.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are an American professional baseball team based in Los Angeles, California. The Dodgers compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the National League (NL) West division. Established in 1883 in Brooklyn, New York, the team moved to Los Angeles before the 1958 season. I think that this is really
Without Russell, the Lakers are missing 16.1 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game. Not to mention, Russell is shooting 41.3 percent from the field and 37.2 from three-point range. Young, on the other hand, was having a great start to the season too, before suffering a right calf strain.
In college as a sophomore he named First Team All-Atlantic 10 Conference and Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year after averaging 17.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. Also, he was named Atlantic 10 Tournament MVP after hitting an electrifying, buzzer-beating 3-pointer to lift Rhode Island over Temple, 62-59 in the A-10 Tournament championship game. He had career-high 28 points at St. Joseph's Feb. 21, career-high 15 rebounds vs. Brown, Nov. 24, 1998, and career-high 11 assists vs. George Washington March 5. Lamar had five-game stretch in January where he scored 20 or more points in each game.
In 2003, a sexual assault case was filed against Kobe, which would proceed to affect his image forever (“Bryant, Kobe” 4). Therefore, although he is an extremely talented athlete, Kobe Bryant is a negative influence to aspiring basketball players. Although this negative attention occurred during his NBA career, Bryant did, in fact, have many NBA achievements before this mishap. Firstly, at just 17 years old (“Kobe Bryant” 1), Kobe managed to become the second youngest player to enter the professional league in NBA history, being the 13th overall pick in the 1996 draft (“Bryant, Kobe” 1). In mid-1996, Kobe was traded to his current team, the NBA Lakers, where he would proceed to gain both his glory and his infamy (“Kobe Bryant” 1).
Did you know that the Los Angeles Dodgers used to be the Brooklyn Dodgers? Although there are a lot of teams in the MLB, I think the Dodgers are the best. There are maybe better teams but the Dodgers are the most coolest, best team that you’ll ever find. There are two divisions, the National League, and American League. At the end of each season, the best players from each league go into the All-Stars or the National league team or the American league team and both teams play against each other. Although, the National and American leagues don’t matter to the world series, because the world series is the best team of all. The Dodgers are in the National League and have players who go to the All-Stars. The reasons being is because the Dodgers have Clayton Kershaw who is one of the best pitchers (if you haven't heard of him) so they're good at defense, they also have Yasiel Puig, and Joc Pederson who are good hitters which you need for runs, and there games are easy to get to and if you come with a big group you can get free food!
Few professional basketball athletes’ names are recognizable to the avid, diehard basketball fans and the uninterested layman alike. One of the first, if not the first, athlete to pop up in anyone’s head is the legendary Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan, also known as His Airness, MJ, and Air Jordan, is widely considered the greatest basketball players of all time. Throughout his professional career, Jordan kept changing the game and redefined the entire sport of basketball. However, in 2002, an aspiring athlete by the name of LeBron Raymone James, also known as King James or simply LeBron, immediately rose to prominence and caught the attention of the entire NBA community. The young star quickly proved his tremendous skill, receiving the hype of being the next Michael Jordan. Looking closer, I found that the similarities between the two players are striking.
