At the age of nine, Luna Lovegood witnessed her mother’s death after her mother’s experiment with a new spell went awry (Rowling, 2003). After this accident, her father raised her while he ran a magazine called The Quibbler where he published his eccentric ideas and conspiracy theories. This magazine and her father’s ideas influenced her personal beliefs about the world around her, causing her to often discuss imaginary creatures that the magazine wrote about with others. She attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from ages 11 to 17. While there, she was sorted into Ravenclaw house, which is known for its students’ intellectual pursuits. Luna spent much of her time alone or with various magical creatures as her firm belief …show more content…
They also called her “Loony Lovegood” to enforce their ridicule of her eccentricity. However, Luna ignored their unkindness and entertained herself by continuing to read her father’s magazine and practicing her magic on her own. After the return of Lord Voldemort, although many people (including the government) did not believe Harry Potter’s word that the Dark Lord was back, she and her father supported Harry. Soon after, she became a member of Dumbledore’s Army, which was a group of students who focused on training to defend themselves against Lord Voldemort and his army (the members of which are known as Death Eaters) as war began. She excelled at these new magic skills and quickly became friends with the members of this group, including Harry Potter. Luna went with many of the other members of Dumbledore’s Army to the Ministry of Magic when they were tricked by Lord Voldemort to go to the Ministry of Magic. The group walked right into a trap and were forced to battle Voldemort’s followers, who were much more experienced wizards than themselves. During this battle, Luna supported her friends as the teens became incapacitated by their injuries. She was one of the last members of Dumbledore’s Army to be …show more content…
After this battle, the wizarding world acknowledged the return of Lord Voldemort and the Second Wizarding War began, allowing Luna to freely practice her defensive magic as well as express her beliefs about the war under less ridicule from others. She also shared the story of her mother’s death with Harry after this battle because he lost his godfather during the fight, including in her tale that she believed she would see her mother again someday. When Luna returned to Hogwarts for her next year at school, she was disappointed to find that Dumbledore’s Army would not continue now that the war was in full swing and the school itself understood the need for teaching defensive magic. She continued her friendships with the members of Dumbledore’s Army into this year. She attended a professor’s dinner party as Harry’s guest and, although some attendees laughed at her attire, she ignored them and focused on discussing conspiracy theories with other people. During this year, she also became a commentator for quidditch. She refused to comment on the actual score during these matches and focused more on going off on tangents about odd ailments that players may have possessed or discussing topics entirely unrelated to the game. At the end of this school year, Death Eaters attacked Hogwarts, forcing the students and

Harry Potter has become one of the biggest franchises in literature and film. It has enabled millions of people to live in the wizarding world and experience hatty’s destiny to defeat Voldemort. J.K. In my opinion, Willy Loman did not attempt to keep-up-with the Joneses as he never made enough money to incorporate that lifestyle. His wife was repairing hose for herself and they had a cheap refrigerator in constant need of repair. Mr. Loman perhaps dwelled on a lavish lifestyle in his mind but he was extremely far from it at all. He wanted to be able to live that way but his job did not allow for those things. He expected his sons, Biff and Happy, to be successful as to compete with those around him and that did not happen either which cause Willy lots of stress, anxiety, and sadness. He consistently thought back into his boy’s younger days when they were energetic and popular as that brought him comfort. He looked at his boys as failures

According to Wilson and Goldfarb (2012) Lope Felix De Vega Caprio was considered an important asset to Spanish theatre and high on the list for best dramatist of all time. In the Spanish Golden Age, however, he was the best-known dramatist. In his entire lifetime, Lope De Vega wrote around 1800 plays, give or take a few hundred. The nature of this number is simply an estimate due to not knowing whether or not how many plays he actually wrote. Keeping in mind that Shakespeare wrote a mere number of plays in comparison to Lope De Vega total plays, Shakespeare is one of the few playwrights that surpass Lope’s extraordinary work. Although Lope De Vega wrote copious amounts of plays, the quality of his plays may have
Neville Longbottom describes himself as “almost a squib” (Chamber of Secrets 185). Despite this self-deprecating analysis, Neville is still sorted into Gryffindor, and eventually becomes one of the heroes of the Second Wizarding War. Neville does not appear to have anything in common with Peter Pettigrew, who betrays his friends; however, a parallel exists between the two characters. Neither seems to belong in Gryffindor on a surface level and they are both the hangers-on in their respective groups of friends. Similarly, Severus Snape and Luna Lovegood appear to be polar opposites. Luna is an eccentric Ravenclaw, while Snape is a strict Slytherin. However, Snape and Luna display a generational parallel because of the ways they are respectively set apart from the main groups of their generation; their status as outcasts and their intelligence. In the Harry Potter series, these generational parallels reveal how love is a form of power and encourages learning from the past.
