I believe in looking for the good in everyone, because no one is perfect. During the year of 2016, I had been introduced to a girl around the age of fourteen. When we had met it appeared that we had nothing in common; besides the fact that we were close to the same age. One afternoon the girl had gotten into trouble for doing something she shouldn't have done. When I had heard what this girl had done I had decided that I was not going to judge her based on her mistakes but that I would only judge her based on how she has and will help the world. By looking for the good in this girl, I have had the amazing opportunity to get to know her better, and I have had the chance to see that she is fun to be around ,she is nice, she is smart, and beautiful. As I started looking for the good in this girl, I decided to try looking for the good in everyone else throughout my day. Thanks to my decision I have had so many more chances to see the good in others as well. By looking …show more content…
Most of these milestones have started out bad, but in many ways they have ended up blessing me in so many different ways. One milestone in particular included a guy who was dating my mom a couple of years ago. This guy was very nice and respectable, but he later made a mistake that would ruin his relationship with my mom and my brother and I. At this moment in her life, my mom had the choice to never talk to this guy again, or she could forgive him and decide to just be friends. The choice that my mother chose that day showed me that even though someone has wronged you it is always ok to forgive them and give them a second chance. Although it took my mom a long time to think things over, she later made the choice to forgive him. When I later asked her why she had made that choice she answered that she was done with being mad at people. Thanks to my moms courageous decision they are now really good
Norman Schwarzkopf Jr, a famous war soldier once said, "The truth of the matter is you always know the right thing to do. The hard part is doing it." Although society has the potential to help others in need they restrict themselves from doing the right thing. But when society is challenged with a problem only some step up against to the odds to make a difference. Throughout history, during times of devastation and separation there are people that show a ray of light that gives people hope during the darkest times.
The everyday world brings harsh conflicts and strong willed people that oppose it. The corruption in society helps bring out the good in some people and the bad in the rest. No matter how many bad people in the world there will always be good-hearted, loving and curious people that will help bring back the light to the world. The bad in the world helps some people realize the true character and goodness inside of them and can help them reflect back onto their character. No matter how big or small a decision might be it will bring you closer to knowing who you really are. These decisions can lead to individuality from others and standing up for what you believe in even if it goes against other people’s views. In All the Light We Cannot See,
Have you ever done a true good deed? If so, think was it really a truly good thing that you have done for someone else? In “The Good Deed” by Marion Dane Bauer demonstrates that a good deed is only a true good deed when it is done with the right intentions. “The Good Deed” is about a girl named Heather who is in the girl scouts, and in order to get a badge they had to do a good deed, and she had gotten Miss. Benson to do a good deed for.
A very significant milestone that occurred in my life was the purchase of my first car with my own money. I know some might think that buying a car isn’t that serious or such an achievement, but to me it was. It was important to me because not only did I work hard to save up enough money but I also payed for my car in full. Now this wasn’t easy. I had to discipline myself to not go shopping on the weekends & to only spend money when I really needed to. Knowing that no one helped me to get my car and that I no longer had to depend on anyone gave me a feeling of independence and freedom. That freedom was something that I longed to experience ever since I received my
...e, I struggled to get stronger to go on pointe, but in the end, my reward was actually being able to dance on the ends of my toes without getting injured. Also, I had to focus hard in school while missing the fun with friends, but my grades stayed high and it made school easier. At the time, I was not feeling very wise like Mr. Worldly Wiseman, but I soon learning that it also taught me to be patient. In all of my experiences in my own life, I learned to be more patient with myself and realized how much easier it will be to reach my life goal with new experiences. Even though I have not yet met my life goal, I still learn through my experiences just as Christian learned from his experiences going to the Celestial City.
As a society we must be willing to be different and change things that we see as bad. I have no idea on what the effects of my small act was on the incoming freshman girl, but the feeling it gave me was completely worth it. Similar to communicating each of us must be willing to both give and receive messages and learn how to give and receive them in effective manners that suits each situation and person. Like in the movie where the littlest act of kindness makes a difference in people's lives, even the littlest acts of consideration during the communication process make a huge difference in the conversation. Most important through my Pay It Forward, I developed a possible friendship with the girl in which I helped, as we exchanged phone numbers before parting that day.
There has always been a predominant belief in my household that it is important to help others- whether it be volunteering at a food pantry or just keep an elderly neighbor company when no one else is around to do so. The main takeaway from this was that one couldn’t receive good in their life if they never gave any. I have been more eager to follow this through, not necessarily in the spirit of receiving some good in return, but because it gave me a good feeling to know that I was impacting someone’s life in a positive manner. I wanted to be able to foster this feeling and incorporate it into my everyday life, so I could carry that feeling with me wherever I go.
All the best people are.” Humble and optimistic for the sake of others , how can you
Many pivotal moments appear in a human beings life to change the way that individual thinks. All human experiences shape the way a person becomes. The death of my 20 year old second cousin changed my perspective on life. It was not because he was close to me or had a huge impact on my life, but because such a young life ended so suddenly. I got to experience how that impacted and even changed certain people. I came to the realization that all those stories on the news actually happen to real life people. These stories seem so unimaginable, but from that point on, I realized that anything can happen to anyone in the simple blink of an eye. I learned that although every human envisions certain things to occur in their lifetime, many aspects cannot
I believe that people should treat others with the respect they deserve and treat them as equals. I was a well respected middle class individual. I had a beautiful wife and two exquisite daughters named Margot and Anne. Then all of this was taken from me.
Being a good person is something that everyone strives to do. For most, it is a subconscious thing we do. For others being a good person is a way of life, not just a superficial “look at me and what I do,” but a deep spiritual understanding that everything one does in their daily life is beneficial to others around that person.
There is an incredibly thin line between what makes a person good and what makes a person right. A person being right is something that’s controversial; you can choose what you want because it’s your opinion. A person being good is something that no one gets a say in; all people are good. It’s hard to see that because people skewer the image of other people when they think that person did something wrong. We are judged more by our actions than by our intentions. In reality, our intentions are all that matter.
I encourage people to help everyone they can in their life, and I certainly hope that people truly enjoy helping others through life. I try to get people to be the way I am, through my actions. I don’t judge people fast, and I try my best to assume that people in general are good and are not up to no good.
... at myself very different compared to my friends and felt very overweight, unusually tall, unattractive, and overall ugly. I changed my diet, started to wear bulky clothing, and secretly wore makeup. Of course, I outgrew that phase in time with the help of friends and family and realized that appearance is not as important as one might think. I would say it was turning point in my life.
Everyone has milestone days in his/her life that change the direction of his/her life for better or worse. Let me tell you one of my experiences that I will never forget from when I was 12 years old.
