Loneliness In Middle Schools

The design of the intervention program for loneliness and bullying that I thought of would be towards middle schools. First, in the textbook, it states that there are two types of kids that are in loneliness. The first type of is that the person is rejected from society or people because they cannot avoid conflict. This creates chaos and problematic with others. Because of this, an idea that may be put in the program can illustrate to students about how important it is to keep harmony among others. For instance, presenters can show an example through a clip or have students prepared for the act. Students can then take a quiz based on the information. The quiz includes questions such as what the student will do in certain situations to avoid conflict. This will help students to realize what they should do and shouldn't do. After the quiz, the class can go over what students should've picked. By doing this, they explain why they didn't choose the most preferred answer. These students according to the textbook are seen as the kids who eat their lunch alone and don't interact with others. These students avoid people. Teachers can encourage students to talk to these kids who do not have any friends or many of them. Teachers can present a situation that can relate to the students such as asking them how they would feel if they didn't know anybody and are afraid of being outcasted. This can help students be more open minded about others with loneliness. Another idea for this would be that a school counselor can call those students who are lonely and see if they have some similar interests with each
