Lois Duncan. Lois was born on April 28, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Lois grew up in Sarasota, Florida. Since Lois was a little girl she has treasured writing; at thirteen, she sold her first story. When she was younger she, wrote over 300 articles and short stories and they all appeared in Ladies Home Journal, Redbook, McCall’s Good Housekeeping, and Reader’s Digest. In her lifetime, she has written 48 books. For a good number of years, she also was an editor for Woman’s Day. Lois is married to Donald Arquette. She has four children, their names are: Robin (Singer), Kerry (Writes children’s books), Brett (Author of many books), Donnie (Extremely talented artist), and Kaitlyn Arquette (Deceased). Throughout the story various things were happening to the four teenagers. The main characters are Julie, Barry, Helen, and Ray. The story began out with the four teenagers going to a party and getting drunk, smoking weed and just having a good time. Ray let Barry drive his vehicle and he was driving harsh and out of control. They were driving the back roads and hit a little boy named David Gregg. The main focus in this story was that Barry got shot. At first Helen, Julie, and Ray thought that it was David Gregg’s mom or dad. They went by the Gregg’s house thinking that everyone would recognize them, nevertheless, the only person that was there was his older sister (Megan). The mother and father were gone since the mom had to go to a mental hospital for thinking that the accident with her son was all of her fault. The mom thought that it was her fault because David wanted to come home from his friend’s house and she told him no, so, David took it upon himself to ride his bike home that didn’t have any reflectors or whatsoever that showed him in the dark. In the end, they find out that Collie, the guy that lived in Helens apartment building/ Bud, Julie’s boyfriend/ David’s brother, was the guy that shot Barry and was the individual sending everyone the letters and newspaper clippings of the
