Locus of control is how much control a student has over their success in school. There are two different types of locus of control classified along a spectrum; internal and external. Students who have an internal locus of control suppose that the outcomes in their life are due to their own efforts. By applying the Travis Hirschi's Control Theory we have to use the four dimensions to incorporate the success of the Theory. Hirschi's concern was "why don't more people become delinquent?"
