Christmas Song Literary Analysis
Know this song...Dashing through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh? Well it was written by organist James Lord Piermont for a Thanksgiving program at a school church in Savannah, Georgia. O’re the things we go laughing all the way. Jingle Bells which is the name of this song, is one the most popular Christmas carol in the world. bells, Jingle bells, Jingle all the way (2:1) is the most recognizable verse in this Christmas carol and is also a great example of onomatopoeia which is the creation of words that imitates any kind of sound like for example; Jingle which is the continuous sound the bells on the sleigh make when it's dashing happily through the snow. Author James Piermont did a great job by using this literary device to emphasize the amazing and joyful sounds of Christmas such as the jingle bells. The second Literary device found in this song is called conflict which is when two opposing forces join to create a dramatic action such as, The story I must tell I went out on the snow, and on my back, I fell; a gent was riding by In a one-horse open sleigh , He laughed as there I sprawling lie, but quickly drove away (4:2-8). On this part of the song the protagonist runs up and tells the story of when he fell flat on his back and all of a sudden some man drove by and laughed at him. The third literary device used in this song is imagery which could also be known as a mental image, like for instance Now the snow is white (5:1) is a great example of imagery. The author used this device to create a mental image of the beautiful white snow covering the ground during Christmas.
In the scene after John Horner is arrested, you can hear Christmas carols playing in the street. It perturbed me a bit that they played the same Christmas carol throughout the show. They never played any different ones. I looked up the carol they had chosen, which happened to be God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. That particular carol is a traditional English Christmas carol. I believe it is supposed to be a reference by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Dickens mentioned the carol in his story, which takes place about forty years earlier, at the latest. The sounds of the horse drawn-carriages were also very loud. Carriages were a very
Many people have transformed, or changed, throughout their lives, either in a positive or a negative way. But what does it mean to transform? That can be different between people and the way they think. Some think it's something unacceptable and you should try avoiding it, others want to transform themselves. To transform, you just need to see the true meaning of things and be happy. It is possible to change, but you need a reason to change. You need motivation, just like how you need the motivation to do the things you love to do.
At the beginning of the novel, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, Scrooge isolates himself from humanity. To isolate means to be alone and apart from others. He isolates himself and doesn 't care about other people. As the novel progresses, he begins to attach himself to humanity through the memories he is shown, and he starts to care about other people again. He makes a transition between total isolation to starting to become less detached from humanity throughout the first 3 staves. His journey, led by the spirits who show him the past and present, make him become a better person in the end. Scrooge goes on a journey from total isolation to becoming more attached to humanity throughout the first three staves in the novel, A Christmas Carol,

In the fictional play, A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley, by Israel Horovitz, Scrooge’s first impression is not very good. He refuses to donate to the poor, he dismisses family who want a relationship, and he is miserable and tries to make others the same way. When two men come to see Scrooge, they were asking for donations for the poor. Scrooge, being one of the wealthiest people in the community, is very dismissive, wrongfully so, and asks the two men to leave empty handed. When Scrooge asks if there are workhouses for the poor to go to, the men explain that most people would rather die than to go there. In response Scrooge states, “If they would rather die, than they had better do it and decrease the surplus in population.” (649) When
The novel and the movie version of The Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens have both similarities and differences. Some of the similarities are character development, the setting and the plot. Some of the differences are character development and added or deleted scenes.

Sunday afternoon, a cloudy day. Right after lunch, I was heading West to see the play. I was excited already to start with the Christmas spirit, even though, Thanksgiving still far. I got to the theatre, on the second floor. I bought my ticket on this little window at the end of the hallway. As I entered the theater I could hear the Christmas songs and notice the big Christmas tree in the middle of the stage. The type of stage is proscenium with an extended apron; its structure was very different. The audience seats are arranged in an arch, the entrance was made from the back of the theater and the stage was below the audience. This theater, even though small, it accommodated everybody well, giving everybody a very good

The tradition of releasing a Christmas related song over the holiday season stretches quite a way back. Artists known for making use of synths in their songs are not exempt from this tradition either, so here is our list of six synth heavy Christmas songs for the festive season.
In "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens, Ebenezer Scrooge undergoes a transformation as a result of his encounters with three ghosts and becomes a kind, happy, and generous man. His greedy, cruel, and grumpy demeanor is replaced seemingly overnight, but he doesn’t just wake up and decide to be nice. It takes three Spirits to change his outlook on life - The Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present, and Future. The Ghost of Christmas Past makes Scrooge begin to regret his selfishness, and the Ghost of Christmas Present begins to teach him about others. This second Ghost helps to make him realize that money doesn't buy happiness. The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, however, teaches the most profound lesson of all: unless he changes, no one will care if Scrooge dies. Because of the Ghosts, by Christmas morning Ebenezer Scrooge is a completely different person from the man who went to bed on Christmas Eve.
