Genre and Career
Linkin Park’s specific genre varies from alternative rock, nu-metal, rap rock and a mixture of electronica that creates those unique sounds in their music. Their career started in 1996when band members Rob Bourdon, Brad Delson, and Mike Shinoda attended the same high school in California. After their high school graduation is when their band lineup was completed by picking up 3 more members which included Dave Farrell, Joe Hahn and their temporary lead singer at the time Mark Wakefield. It wasn’t long before their temporary lead singer left the band and future lead vocalist of the band Chester Bennington would join soon after. At the time they still had trouble signing a record deal and that is when vice president of Warner Bros. Records helped them sign with the company in 1999. The following year is when they released their breakthrough album Hybrid Theory; much of their success came through that album. The album received 3 Grammy nominations in the year of 2002 having sold 7 million copies making the album one of the most successful debuts ever. Over the next few years Linkin Park’s career took off by storm and as a result it led with collaborations with Jay-Z in 2004 and as of 2012 they have released five studio albums.
Influences
Some of the bands influences started when band members Mike Shinoda and Brad Delson blended some of their favorite styles of music that influenced them such as Guns N Roses and the Deftones, including elements of hip hop. Other influences came from lead singer Chester Bennington; he mentions during an interview about his biggest musical inspirations and had this to say, "I would have to just go with my gut which would have to be The Beatles, and back to Depeche Mode... the two bands...

Today's music scene is slowly growing, and differentiating in styles. One of the newest styles of music that has broken out is a generally unrecognized genre of music called "Geek Rock." By taking the meaningful lyrics of Emo, the heavy guitar riffs of Grunge, and the do-it-yourself attitude of Indie rock, this genre forms a new-wave approach to music. Many new artists have been categorized under this label, including Ben Kweller, Ozma, and Rooney. Rivers Cuomo, front man and lyricist of Weezer, is predominantly responsible for this underground rock movement. By transferring his life experiences into a musical statement, Rivers Cuomo has the ability to appeal to his fans on a new level.

The overall sound of the album was combination of rap lyrics over some rocking beats. The instrumentation used is electric guitar and bass. In the song (You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!), the guitar, and drums are clearly heard especially on off beats of the rap lyrics. The album has a very upbeat sound in general with some more traditional rock and roll guitars cords, but the rap lyrics is what made this album the first of its kind. The song (You gotta) Fight for Your Right (To Party!), was inducted into The Rock and Roll hall of fame’s 500 songs that shaped rock n roll. (Rolling Stones) Daniella Kohavy points out how in “Rhymin’ And Stealin,” the first track on the album, samples Led Zeppelin, The Clash, and Black Sabbath; the epitomes of rock and punk rock”. The album created in less than a year. They gained inspiration from the music of many rock bands, such as Kerry King from slayer.
The band consisted of many different members with different musical backgrounds. Ron McKernan was an organist who loved the blues, where Phil Lesh had very formal training in classical music. Bill Kreutzmann, the drummer for the Dead, has a history of playing R&B and jazz. Though the band continues to influence artists to this day, other bands helped shape and inspire their sound. The Grateful Dead first decided to go electric and create a rawer sound after seeing the Lovin’ Spoonful live in New York.
Paramore’s mix of emo-pop and alternative rock & roll eventually made them stars on both sides of the Atlantic ocean, they began their career in Franklin, Tennessee, where Hayley Williams met brothers Josh and Zac Farro after moving to town from Mississippi with her family in 2004. Already a powerful vocalist at the age of 13, Williams signed with Atlantic Records as a solo artist, but conflicted with the label over the direction of her career and genre of music she was supposed to play. Seeking to form her own band, Hayley convinced Atlantic Records to let her piece together a full lineup. Lead guitarist and backing vocalist Josh and drummer Zac Farro were called in for the job, as were rhythm guitarist Jason Bynum and bassist Jeremy Davis. John Janick, CEO and co-founder of the “Fueled by Ramen”, a Florida-based recording label with a strong emo-pop and alternative rock acts, was amazed by their sound and decided to go to one of their live performances in Orlando, Florida, to see them playing live. After he saw these young musical talents, John invited them for a smaller private performance where he said he wanted to sign them. To help attract a younger audience, Atlantic decided to co-sign the band with Fueled by Ramen in 2005. Holding this amazing chance in their hands, band didn't want to waste precious time and started to record their debut album. At that stage, Jeremy, the bass player, unfortunately had to leave the band citing personal reasons. Few days after he left, the four remaining band members, wrote a song called "All We Know" as a tribute to Jeremy's withdrawal. They decided to base the whole album off of that. Before the album "All We Know Is Falling" was released, Paramore asked Jeremy to re-join the...

wardrobe, band members wear is a little different from what is trending in the modern society. Ripped skinny jeans or shoes, hoodies in the dark shaded colors are common type of clothing members wear. Additionally, many seem to understand that band individuals have poor hygiene due to how many men have long hair and not a clean cut shave. As said before, many of the stereotypes are not fully wrong. According to Makewav.es, in the article Misconceptions About Rock Music, by Maddie Smith and Talia Alvarez, who both stated, “Will not try to defend the fact that some artists in the industry, like Danny Worsnop and Ronnie Radke, are recovering addicts.” The authors explain that some truth behind what is said about alcohol or drug consumers on band members is true. It has been indicated that not just the act of a small groups has produced a negative image on people who play

Pop music began to take on a serious art form. Rock stars influenced fashion in a way like never before. The Beatles began the British invasion with pop culture. They were fashion icons and many copied their long hair. Others copied the rebellious look of Bob Dylan and Mick Jagger (Rolling Stones). Rock stars began speaking on behalf of the younger generation and the media was all over them. By the end of the sixties, pop music was the main force in fashion. In Europe and America, "underground" music played a big part, with underground magazines, festivals, and groups during 1966-67. Drugs such as marijuana and hallucinogens like LSD were more widely used outside of a small circle of musicians and artists. Sounds of blues, jazz, rock, electronic, Indian, and classical had inspiration in psychedelic music. Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix were leaders of this long hair, drugs, and music scene. Other music such as be-bop jazz with the beatniks, the sounds of soul that flowed from the record company Motown, and folk for hippies also inspired the way of fashion.
Linkin Park is a new metal band from Los Angeles, California. It has been an active band since 1996. Their labels are Warner Brothers Records and Machine Shop Recordings. Meanwhile, attending UCLA, Brad Delson shared an apartment with bassist Dave Farrell, who left the band after college and returned a year later. They got Chester Bennington, an Arizona native who started making records when he was 16. Once he joined the band, they changed their name to Hybrid Theory.

Charlie Watts was on drums, and Brian Jones played the guitar, harmonica, sitar, and sang. Two less popular members were Ian Stewart, on piano, and Bill Wyman, on bass guitar and sang backing vocals.
The Sound of Music is a timeless classic that has captivated the attention of many ages. Based off the beginning events of Maria von Trapp’s book The Story of the Von Trapp Family Singers, the overall view of the Von Trapp family in the film is kept intact. Maria Augusta Kutschera joined the family in 1926 as a tutor to the children and later married their father, former Navy officer, Georg von Trapp. As World War II progressed, the family became more well known for their musical talent, which was the focus of The Sound of Music. However, the film includes only a part of the story of the Von Trapp family. After the family left Austria during the Nazi invasion in 1938, the Von Trapp Family Singers continued to tour throughout Europe and the United States.
