Lightening flashed illuminating the house against the dark, swirling sky. Electricity permeated the air, but the house on the corner of Redwood Ave stood tall in spite of the storm. Strong winds moaned and cried like a chorus of angry voices. Leaves danced chaotically with the wind along with shingles, garbage, and other storm debris. Rain pummeled the house as if demanding entrance. But the house stood like a stalwart rock; a fortress against attack.
Struggling against the fierce winds, Laurenz Anger hurried down the block to the house. He stopped every few seconds to pull his coat tighter around him and taking furtive glances over his shoulder. He rushed up the walk and into the house, slamming the door behind him. A picture of him and his wife fell off a nearby wall and shattered. The broken glass sliced up his half of the picture. Laurenz signed the cross as a cold breeze tickled the back of his neck.
Out from the room ahead of Laurenz came a short, solid dark haired woman. She wore a simple gingham dress covered by an apron. In one hand she carried a rolling pin. With a quick look, she noted Laurenz' state and the picture on the floor.
"Let me get a broom," she stated to turn around.
Laurenz shook his head and passed her. "No, Hilde, I'll clean it up. It’s..."
Hilde rolled her eyes while placing her hands on her hips. "We don't live in the old country anymore."
"I know that." He came back with a broom and a dustpan. Laurenz knelt down, sweeping up the breaking glass. The torn picture he placed on a nearby table.
"You're too superstitious. What did you see this time?"
"Nothing."
"Laurenz."
"A doppelganger."
Hilde threw her hands up. "I'm going to finish dinner."
"It followed me home."
Hilde harrumphed. From the kitchen she spo...

But the two girls never made it up the stairs. When they got to the bottom of the stairs, they saw someone that they shouldn't have seen at the top. A woman with long black hair and in a white dress. Not a lady, but a ghost.
“Help, my father is dying.” The ghost in white begged. But the two kids just stared at her frozen in fear while the ghost tried again. “My name is Hunger Anger, please help!”
But still the girls just stood there, shaking. The ghost spoke again. “Please help, he's dying!”
And this time while the girls stared in shock, the ghost faded away. Then, only then, did the girls run. They slid under the kitchen table in the dark kitchen. And they screamed for help in the same kitchen that Hilde called for help in many years earlier.
The camp was really, really old and many of the buildings had once burned down because of a big fire. Supposedly the camp was haunted by this woman named Mary, who was a witch. But, no one ever saw her, just weird things would happen. Little girls would disappear at night if they were out wandering around by themselves. It scared everyone because parents want their daughters to come home. So every time someone would disappear, people would go out looking for her but would never find her. But after a girl would disappear, it would get especially strange for a while. People thought Mary haunted other buildings, like the barn. Well, [lowers voice] one night one of the camp directors heard strange sounds coming from a little cabin in the woods where Mary supposedly lives and went to investigate. He found Mary with one of the campers, giving her an herbal potion. But the girl was already in a trance and hypnotized and they couldn’t bring her back. They took Mary and they tied her up and put her on trial. As she was standing there, she put a spell on everyone and killed herself with the spell. It was said that anyone else who said her name three times in the mirror would die.
As dusk was abroad, pictures began to climb out of Lennie’s head. The first one was a little fat old woman, wearing bull’s-eye glasses and a huge gingham apron with pockets. She was starched and clean, standing in front of Lennie with her hands on her hips, and frowning disapprovingly at him.
As they were walking down the tunnel it started to get dark, Heather and Arthur both took out their flashlight to see. There were no noises except for the sound of their breathing and footsteps. Suddenly Heather felt something touch her leg and Arthur heard something scraping on the ground behind them. Heather and Arthur slowly turned around and saw the most horrifying thing ever. A girl with pale skin and black hair, her fingers were cut off. This girl seemed to be about 14 years old and her mouth was stitched up, not letting her breath from her mouth. Heather and Arthur both screamed, they slowly started to back
“When I saw my house three weeks after the storm, I was glad it stood, but I knew it was time for change. Now, five years later, I have learned that for me to enjoy the beauty of this place, there is a cost to bear. I love this place and am here to stay, but I have to invest more than I had imagined. The hurricane has greatly affected our lives, but not only in a bad way.” Gene understands that the story does not end with just the damage, but also what it contributes to the future.
It is also stated that she has never seen him alone. The storm starts to increase outside, reflecting the sexual tension inside. The storm's sinister intention appears when "The rain beat upon the shingled roof that threatened to break an entrance.". It seems that the storm knows what is going on between the two and is threatening to break in and ruin their chances. They move throughout the house and end up in the bedroom "with its white, monumental bed, its closed shutters, looked dim and mysterious.
I stumbled onto the porch and hear the decrepit wooden planks creak beneath my feet. The cabin had aged and had succumb to the power of the prime mover in its neglected state. Kudzu vines ran along the structure, strangling the the cedar pillars that held the roof above the porch. One side of the debacle had been defeated by the ensnarement and slouched toward the earth. However, the somber structure survives in spite. It contests sanguine in the grip of the strangling savage. But the master shall prevail and the slave will fall. It will one day be devoured and its remains, buried by its master, never to be unearthed, misinterpreted as a ridge rather than a
The boy said, “Mom, can we put the spider that jumps out at you right here on the porch?” “No, I don’t like that spider. It’s scary,” said the little girl. The two kids continued to argue until their father stopped them and said, “Okay! Here’s what we’re going to do. We will put the spider on the porch, but your sister gets to pick the next two decorations.” So, the boy put the spider on the porch, and the girl started digging through a box with decorations in it. She pulled out a smiling ghost, with a purple ribbon tied around it’s neck, and she hung it off of a tree branch. Spookley could practically feel the lightbulb come on over his head. He went back upstairs, and found an old white sheet that the boy used when he was a baby. Spookley draped it over his head, and looked in the mirror. You still couldn’t tell what he was supposed to be. So he got into the “Art Supplies” box, and obtained a bottle of black paint. He used an ancient tennis ball to put two black dots in place of eyes. He let it dry for a little bit, and then put it back on. He looked like a ghost! He was going to be able to
I peered around through the rain, desperately searching for some shelter, I was drowning out here. The trouble was, I wasn’t in the best part of town, and in fact it was more than a little dodgy. I know this is my home turf but even I had to be careful. At least I seemed to be the only one out here on such an awful night. The rain was so powerfully loud I couldn’t hear should anyone try and creep up on me. I also couldn’t see very far with the rain so heavy and of course there were no street lights, they’d been broken long ago. The one place I knew I could safely enter was the church, so I dashed.
They came to assist the frantic couple. Suddenly, a sharp-eyed farmer gave a shout then pointed towards a strange light at the edge of the woods. A few townsmen followed him out into the field, then suddenly saw Bloody Mary standing beside a large oak tree, holding a magic wand that was pointed towards the Miller's house. She was glowing with an unearthly light as she set her evil spell upon the Miller's daughter.
Five minutes later, the fire trucks arrived, but it was too late. Her house was burnt to the ground. While searching the house, the firemen found human remains. They came trudging through the ashes and fall leaves with
Through the sound of the thundering rain and howling wind, an ear-piercing scream slices through the air. Never in my life have I heard a sound quite like this one. It’s the type of scream that’s so desperate and horrific that its cuts right through your body and down to your soul and shakes the life out of it. Just on time, the well-known Virginian winds whipped open the door to the privy to let me out into the blasting wind. Through the rain and sleet assaulting my face, I heard the terrible scream rip through time and space again. Right away, my feet start taking off without me, trying to reach the main house, to my family. Through the raging storm, I can see the blue side door come into view, or the spot that used to be where the blue door was.
The ghost, however, loses little time in effecting a more solid manifestation, as a young woman runaway whom Sethe shelters, and by whom she comes to be dominated. She gives up her job to be with Beloved and while the girl ghost thrives, she and Denver are reduced to near starvation. It is only when Denver dares to come out of her isolation and invoke the help of the rest of her black community that Beloved can be sent back to her grave and Sethe and Paul D. reunited.

A few people were inside as the doom came closer. Preacher Tom was the first one in the church to sees what would haunt the town and was scared out of his wits. He pushes a young woman out of the doorway as he speeds into the church. He continues to bar the door and close up all of the windows as the surprised group stares on at him with suspicion. He dropped to his knees and prayed as a loud noise echoed through the building. The crowd began to scream as the windows rattled and the building swayed. All of a sudden, a whimper could be heard from the back side of the building. The sound was unmistakable, it was the tiny voice of little Lisa Cunningham. Mrs. Hamm hobbled quickly over to the door before anyone else could react. She threw the door open as Father Ted finally came to his senses. Lisa flung herself through the door into the arms of Mrs. Hamm. Father Ted lunged for the door and slammed his shoulder into it right before an unknown force bashed against the other side. Mrs. Hamm grasped the child as and attempted to console her as a sharp pain erupted in her breast. She looked down and saw a dark stain growing on her blue dress and jerked the child away. Everyone’s eyes went wide as they saw the scene unfolding before them. Lisa stood smiling; face covered in blood, and began to laugh hysterically. Mrs. Hamm was becoming hysterical as well, as she noticed that one side of her chest had become smaller than the other as a huge chunk had been bitten away by the child.
