Life’s Ways with Unfair Love
Forest Gump, a well-known film, not only shares the story of a man’s journey through life, but it also portrays the many facts faced each day. Life is not fair, but there is no reason not to except it and just get used to it. Throughout life there are many obstacles and experiences that we all go through at one time or another. Everyone has feelings and those feelings are bound to be confusing at some point in our lives. Missing someone you love and then feeling hurt by watching him or her love somebody else can be one of the toughest things to deal with in life.
Love is hard and always will be. Feelings can get so caught up each day that it is hard to know which way is the right way to feel. It can be easy to get so used to what our mind is trying to tell us to do that we do not give our heart the chance to show us what actually to do. With all the criticism and opinions, we have no reason to carry our hearts on our sleeves when we know how we truly feel towards someone. Any feeling can be confusing, especially when something seems so right. Feelings begin to turn into thoughts that eventually become unexplainable.
The feeling of finding someone who makes your heart feel happy is something that nobody imagines letting go of or ever losing. Seeing the world though someone else’s eyes and having to look away just seems so unfair. After the first time someone makes you feel loved, you realize what you had previously missed. Missing someone can have you thinking of all the right reasons you were brought together and all the reasons why you fell apart. Some days hurt much more than others, but knowing that someone at one time wanted to know your every thought with just one look can mean more than words itself.
Watching someone change his or her feelings towards you for someone else can sometimes make you feel as if your heart is never going to stop from aching. How can “promise” be the word that it is when people spend a lot of their time breaking it? You spend hours wondering if that special person still smiles the same way they used to or if they even care the same way they use to feel.
First of all, it takes time to develop trust and understanding, which are indispensable elements that comprises love. Which is what
Many times the love that a person is looking for is the one that a person doesn't realize.
Love can take many shapes and forms. There are many different kinds of love between human beings. Though it is often overlooked, intentionally or not, loss comes hand in hand with love; it is the second face of love that no one wants to see or experience. With love comes the potential to lose it as well. Nicole Krauss’s book, The History of Love, is really about loss.
In the story, “Loves Executioner”, Yalom treats and old woman named “Thelma” that is overly obsessed with a man named Matthew, her former therapist from ten years ago. Yalom feeling though that he is drawn to the facets of her dilemma decides to do everything he can to empower Thelma move past the obsessions that had been wrecking havoc on her mental health. In reviewing the vast corporation of the Walt Disney Company and all that it has to offer, one profound statement made by Walt Disney himself comes to the forefront, “I only hope that we don’t lose sight of one thing – that it was all started by a mouse” (Walt, n.d.). This statement suggests that the company has a strong focus to continually guide them in the way of the original idea of the company. Even as it watches the changes taking place in society and adapts to the new technologies and innovations, the Walt Disney Company has been able to implement diverse strategies for its growth and prosperity.
Love is blind and no matter how pure, its never immortal. Both La Belle Dame Sans Merci and Frankie and Johnny are tragic love poems where one lover dies. However, the circumstances and conditions the two lovers were set upon, as well as the used of descriptive language were drastically different.
In the case of To His Coy Mistress by Andrew Marvall, a not-so-gentle gentleman is trying to woo a “coy” young lady with claims of love. This poem is strewn with hyperbole to the point that it becomes exactly the opposite of love. When there is such over exaggerated praise, it starts to lose the real meaning of the message. If you take a look at lines 13-18, you can see the obvious amplification:
Today 's rap music reflects its origin in the hip-hop culture of young, urban, working-class African-Americans, its roots in the African oral tradition, its function as the voice of an otherwise underrepresented group, and, as its popularity has grown,
Love is commitment. To love means to commit oneself without guarantee, to give oneself completely in the hope that our love will produce love in the loved person. Commitment can be called the backbone or building block of love. In other words, commitment is needed in order to build a stable and trusting relationship. Without commitment, love would not be able to grow and flourish. It can be extremely demanding on someone who isn't ready or sure that they want to commit to another person.
...r love. When you love you are your most vulnerable to hurt. Sharing your love is the most risky thing you will ever do. It can either be the most rewarding effort or it can be the most devastating effort. If you invest yourself in someone, and give them your very best, and they respond positively to your love, you will experience great satisfaction. If, however, you invest in someone, and give them your very best, and they do not respond positively, or they do not respond at all, or they respond negatively, it is likely to be one of the most painful experiences of your life. People who have failed at love often vow to never loving again. To the person who has been hurt, love is perceived as the source of their great pain. Rejection is one aspect that nobody wants to live with.
Arguably the greatest writer in English literature, William Shakespeare is most famously known for his prominent work of art, Romeo and Juliet. This tragic plot takes place in Verona during the mid-1300’s . Shakespeare is commonly referred to as the “The Father of English Literature”. Likewise, Elvis Presley is often referred to as the “King of Rock and Roll”. One of his most popular songs include “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You”, written in October of 1961, sixteen years prior to his death. Although both the play and the song explore the effects of fate over freewill, Shakespeare uses complex literary devices to signify plot development, while Elvis uses figurative language, such as simile, to italicize the theme of fate.
Love is a strong affection or warm attachment to someone; on the contrary, pain is a punishment or penalty or suffering of body or mind. These emotions carry a direct relationship; love leads to pain. However, everything that begins must eventually come to an end, and in the end one emotion is victorious. There is a constant struggle between the opposing emotions; henceforth, Ernest Hemingway combines both of these emotions into A Farewell to Arms. Through Fredric Henry and Catherine Barkley’s relationship, Hemingway combines these two emotions in a relentless power struggle. Where love leads, pain shortly follows proving that what comes from love can be dangerous. Ernest Hemingway’s A Farewell to Arms takes place during World War I and describes the relationship between a war doctor, Fredric Henry, and a nurse, Catherine Barkley; the couple follows the cycle of love and pain to prove Hemingway’s point that love is ultimately dangerous.
Music, a form of art, made up of unique and special sounds containing elements of pitch and rhythm can powerfully soothe one’s soul. Firstly, there are different types of music, and each has its own features. These sounds and features are what I admire in music because to me it creates a new form of communication to one’s consciousness. It stimulates our mind and gives it a sense of harmony and peace through the hardships that life poses for us. As a kid, I would always listen to music from any genre, deciding which genre would complement me the most as I grew older. In middle school, I remember going on the computer and finding a website/program where I could make my own beats. From that day on, I spent countless of hours each day making sure the tune sounded proper and pleasurable for my ears. At first, it wasn’t good, but eventua...
Love in itself is a chance you need to be willing to take. There is no love without risk and even worse than risk, there is no love without loss. Everything in life is a risk, but risking to open yourself up and fully give yourself to someone can be the hardest of them all. It is courageous to love because falling in love can be hard. Relationships have the potential to either end well, or end horrifically, but the thing is, that’s the risk you have to be willing to take. The reason relationships are so complicated is because of the people in them. People make them challenging and complex. Who can tell you before a relationship starts if you are gonna be toxic, or gonna be part of something very special. The risk everybody takes on a daily basis with love, is a risk that can have a very giant reward, a big ring and a wedding. Some people are afraid to fall in love because they fear heartbreak, and I could say i’m that person. When I am in a relationship, I put in everything I have. I value all of the relationships I am apart of and I strive to make them better everyday. But sometimes I just need to face the world and realize that at some point, most of the relationships I have today will fail because people make mistakes. Heartbreak is inevitable, and that is okay. I will be okay. Heartbreak has a way of reminding us that we are in love, and that we do know how to love. The desire people have to make things last will force you to giving love another try. When you set all your reservations and fears aside, you will allow yourself to love and prosper in a relationship. Heartbreak in a relationship doesn’t just occur when you and your significant other break up, you feel heartbreak when someone you love passes away, you lose a friend you thought you would have forever and for many other reasons. Although heartbreak does suck, it is a part of the excitement of life. In relationships you are never supposed to know how
