When I was a high school student, I wanted nothing more than to put my schooling experience behind me. The day that I graduated, I thought to myself, “finally! I am done!” After everything settled down after graduation, I got a job as a shift supervisor at a Boston Market in Littleton, Colorado. After about a year of working there, I realized that I wanted a better life for myself. So what does one do when they want a better life and their parents can’t talk them into going to college? They join the Military. So, in August of 2006, that is exactly what I did. Just about four years later, I finally realized that to get anywhere in this world now a days, you need to have some form of a college education. The main reason why I am attending college is to make a better life for myself. Now, I realize that this is a very vague thing to explain, so let’s look into this a little further. For starters, I want to be able to always support myself without the support of a man, or anyone else for that matter. I have done a pretty good job of that thus far, and I would like to keep it that way. One day I would like to get married and have children. I want to be able to give my children a good life growing up like I had. I believe that a good way to accomplish this is to go to school and get a good job to be able to give them what they need and deserve out of life at a young age. I also want to have a purpose for my life. I guess that this is my long term goal, you could say. I want to be able to tell people “this is what I do for a living, this is my purpose and I plan on doing this for the rest of my life.” By going to college, I want to learn more about myself. Everything that I do in my life, I push myself to the extreme, and basically t... ... middle of paper ... ...s, a Greek Stoic philosopher. This quote means a lot to me as an individual because it basically sums life up in one sentence. You can do anything that you want to do as long as you set your mind to it. Although I am attending college for many different reasons, I am doing it to accomplish a long term goal in my life: to be successful. It is just a piece of the puzzle that we call life. There is much work to be done, and there will be many failures and successes along the way. I will face many challenges in the next few years. As long as I stick to my plan and work hard towards what I want, I will become what I want to be. In closing, Theodore Roosevelt once said, “With self-discipline most anything is possible”. This is something that should be taken to heart by everyone. I can be anything that I want to be. Do anything that I want to do, and that is the greatest fee
While college is about majoring into what your ideal career is, it's also a place of self exploration. "By teaching freedon by example, through the experience of free research, thinking and expression" (source B). College is a place where people go to learn and to grow as a person. Most people go to college for the same reasons. They want to set a good foundation for getting a job, experience new things, or because their parents wanted them to. All of those reasons apply to me also.
My purpose and goals in attending college is to make something of my life. It is a good thing. No one wants to be a nobody. But sometimes it takes time in order for one to realize this. & nbsp; Upon graduation from high school, I, like the majority of others high school graduates, had no clue what direction my life was heading or even what I wanted to become.
I believe that there is no nobler purpose than the endeavor to find freedom, and having said this, I want my college education to be more than an attempt to earn a degree. It is my hope that because of college I will realize...
Being the first one to attend college in my family has pushed me to continue my education. Now in today’s society a college degree is so important. I want my parents to be proud of me, and be happy with my high level career after college, and that starts with my education. I truly just want to get the best education and job for myself worth and make myself happy.
I finally, after five years of pondering this, dove into college. I want to make a better life for myself. Be better able to support myself. I believe when absolutely needed, you can find the courage deep down to do what needs to be done. I believe people who love you will support you and others don’t matter. I believe you must do what you need to do to have self-confidence, and self-esteem. I believe you can find within yourself the courage to do something for yourself when it truly

Not only does my passion of learning hold place in the reasoning behind why I want to go to college, but because of my role models growing up. My parents both encourage me on a daily basis to go to college, and have encouraged my initiative to seek more in life. My father once explained that he once had this opportunity to receive a free ride to college but decided to stay home and start a family. He of course never looked back or regretted his decision because if not I wouldn 't be here today, but he encouraged me to take on these amazing offers and

And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.” (Keller) College is definitely a challenge, but it is also a very beautiful thing. My future family is also one because it’s a big part of my life that I want to be happy and always feel comfortable. Finally for my personal financial well-being, so I can be able to treat myself to all the luxuries I want for myself. Going back to line one, all of these things are a part of my future.
