Recommended: The role of a social worker

I am currently working in a nursing home as Life Enrichment Coordinator. Working in the nursing home has allowed me to work with diverse populations. I work with the elderly that has bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, Alzheimer's and other challenging behavior. This allowed me with some insight into the role as a social worker.I am part of the care planning team that helps and recognize future ambitions and preferred outcomes in their life. Working with a team I help promote empowerment, independence, resident’s rights, responsibilities, and self esteem.
