My high school experience was different from most in the sense that I was enrolled in an early college program. This meant earning dual credit and graduating with a high school diploma, an associate’s degree, and the chance to enroll at a four-year university as any typical high school student would. This also meant finding a new mode of transportation since the community college served as the high school campus and the only working car in the family was my father’s way to get to work. We met with the school principal on numerous occasions to discuss this issue and see what could be done, but it looked like this was going to be one opportunity I would be unable to take advantage of — I even missed the orientation week for incoming freshmen
As I planed to take this class, I thought this course would be like all other general education courses. I believed that it would be of little use to me. However, after attending the first class, my view has changed completely. I applied each and every theory to my life.

Everything that I have learned from this course I plan to put towards my coaching career. Volleyball is not as easy of a sport ass most people believe it to be. It requires coordination, speed, accuracy, learning, strength, and other abilities along with the knowledge of the game and rules. Each person has a variety of motor abilities or an ability that is specifically related to the performance of a motor skill. With each motor skill a specific motor ability is required to successfully perform it. If two of my athletes have the same about of practice, level of instruction and motivation to do the skill then motor abilities will influence the level of performance success each person can achieve. Each person learns differently, some are visual, physical or mental for myself personally I am mainly a visual learner. Learning is defined as a change in the capability to perform a skill that must be inferred from a relatively permanent improvement in performance as a result of practice or experience. If I want to be successful as a coach I have to learn how to teach every type of athlete or learner. Some players may need to see me act out a motion or play, others need it written down, or need you to tell it to them while others need all of the above in order to understand and learn it completely. During high school, I did not have to study as hard as I do now that I am in college. Usually, I would be able to study the day before the test and score a hundred percent. Although, occasionally, I would be able to skip a few classes and get the notes from a classmate or of course, resort to guessing. However, now that I am in college, the lectures require much more attentiveness and are more complex: composing more information, meaning that one has to proportion time more responsibly and take an advantage of good study habits. My learning skills have made a complete transformation since I have been in college. I learned new things and I actually enjoy learning new things. Nevertheless, these changes required a lot of self control and practice. Going through these experiences have changed my entire persona about learning such as study habits, being more attentive during classes, and going through greater extents to succeed in certain classes.
Life After High School I’ve just entered my senior year of high school. I know that this is a very important year. I have a lot of decisions to make and not much time to make them. These decisions will either make or break my life, and I want to make sure that I make them to the best of my ability, because there is no turning back. I need to make sure I definitely want to attend college.
When I first started the semester, I had absolute no Idea of what major I wanted to do. Now after taking this course I have been able to narrow it down to 2 majors that I am interested in taking. I had no idea that there was even a sports administration major. If the class never brought in the sports administration presenter I would have never known about the major. In this course I have learned more about my transferable skills, personality type, academic interests, personal values, skills and strengths.
The course also challenged me and allowed me to think critically. Whenever I am faced with an issue I know that I should take steps to formulate an opinion. It’s always good to ask questions to clarify anything. Once all the facts are established, I know that I should assess them. Finally I am able to assert a carefully thought out opinion (3). After taking these steps can be sure my opinion is right and not just for me personally, but regarding others too.
School is an exceptionally important phase in our lives. Elementary, middle school, high school, and college are the places where besides our homes we learn most of our principles and moral values. Before taking this course, I had not thought about the transitioning process to post-secondary education or work-force. Even though I had previously worked with adults with disabilities, I was not aware of all the work that goes into making sure these adults have the most normal and independent life possible. I am ashamed to say this, but after taking this course and getting more experience at Imagine the Possibilities, I have more knowledge now on the entire process than I did before. One topic I was still wanting more information on was the assessment process for transitioning students, which is why I decided to research and write my final paper over this topic.
