He has had some very unique experiences, he is educated, he is a minority, he was an Air Force pilot for over 22 years and now he is in his 20th year of flying for FedEx. He has also traveled while on vacation. In most of the situations, if not all he was observing. However, someone told me "we are always teaching". We are observing other people and people are always us as well. I saw this in Darryl's postings and my interactions with him in person. As people have said about me when they meet and talk to me, "there is something different about you". Stuff and money is becoming more important in people’s lives. They forget how much more important the Holy Spirit is in their lives. Forgetting how powerful the Lord is, they begin relying on material items. In eternity, material items will not be of any value! Like the Li family in Safely Home, the Lord wants His followers to rely on Him to provide, instead a sundry of Christ followers begin to depend considerably on money, jobs, and people for providence. In Safely Home, the story illustrates how Christians are to live with God as their provider because when a Christian lives a life in dependence on God, they rightfully focus on the Lord as their provider. God can direct a person’s path in a way no one else is able to. Just like Li Quan, Ming, Shen and all the other Christians in the story accepted, God’s thoughts will become one’s own thoughts and His words will become one’s own words. However, without fully realizing, Ben Fielding was living to serve himself. He was dedicated to his job, being successful, and well-off, but he was still empty inside. This particular successful businessman was always searching for something to fill the hole in his heart until he truly experienced the Lord and His presence. In short, Christians can be challenged by this story to rely on God more and live a lifestyle that pleases

...fighting his feelings about not seeing Jesus. He feels that he is lying to God and himself by getting up and being saved even though he cannot see Jesus. Even though the reader knows that he truly is being saved from sin. He is doing something good for himself. Therefore, we can see that he truly does not understand the meaning of God. He is a child on the verge of adulthood. He has every right to be confused and misinterpret religion because he is learning. Religion is metaphorical and imaginative; it is what you believe it to be.
Ever since he was younger he had questioned the way things were because he knew that there was more too things than he had been taught. The Wesleyan quadrilateral is still relevant today as it provides a method for discovering the things of God, ourselves, and lets us know who God really is. For the purposes of this reflection paper, I would like to summarize the four components of the Wesleyan Quadrilateral and then reflect personally upon each term as how it relates to the Christian theologian. The first component of the Wesleyan Quadrilateral is scripture. The term scripture used in the Wesleyan Quadrilateral refers to God’s word. God’s word is found in the Bible.
In Langston Hughes 's definition essay entitled "Salvation" he discusses the social and emotional pressures that effect young people. He pulls in his own experiences from being an active member in his church, and the moment he was supposed to experience revival of twelve. Hughes 's purpose for writing this definition essay is to show the peer pressures and internal conflicts that come from both church and the religious community, and his personal experiences that led to the pressures that were put upon him in his youth. The audiences that “Salvation” was pointed towards are adults; it shows the pressures that are put upon the youth, while the child does not fully grasp the idea being expressed to them. Langston Hughes 's overall message to
God and Money cannot be intertwined because when money is involved the human’s selfishness, greed, and power hunger takes over and causes people to forget about morals and beliefs that cause them to make decisions that only benefit them now, not the people of the future or the people that are less fortunate now in the present. “Jesus as Liberator” and “Kairos time” help us see the big mistake in mainstream Christianity. Columbus Christianity might as well be the total opposite of Liberation theology is, which means that mainstream Christianity is not doing the right things because it is only looking out for its people and that it. Kairos time shows how Liberation theology took the right moment by the hand, unlike mainstream Christianity, and

Functionalists believe religion is a conservative force that performs positive functions of promoting social integration and social solidarity through the reinforcement of value consensus. In this essay I will draw on ideas from Durkheim, Malinowski, Parsons and Bellah. I will then evaluate these theorists with Marxist, feminist and postmodernist perspectives in order to assess the extent functionalism helps us to understand religion today.
Firstly, it was necessary to give the class a concise definition of these broad theories, and follow these definitions with general background explanation on the idea behind the respective theologies. The definitions that we used to introduce the different ideas were; ‘Liberation Theology: A form of Christian theology that emphasizes social and political liberation as the anticipation of ultimate salvation.’ And, ‘Theology of Prosperity: A religious belief that wealth is a divine reward for a person's faith in god.’ After having defined the concepts of discussion in our own terms, we proceeded to explain each idea separately, incorporating questions respective to the specific topics, and finished by introducing questions comparing and contrasting these two theories and discussing their nature in full, including the showing of a short video clip of a sermon by Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
John Saliba’s approach to new religious movements is secular (despite his position as a Jesuit Priest) and well rounded. He begins by exploring how new religious movements are viewed today, how they have been reacted to in the past and why that may be. He examines the original definition of the word “cult” as well as the modern derivations of it and how it affects these new religious movements. By considering multiple opinions on new religious movements as well as looking at the historical, psychological, sociological, legal and theological context in which these religions came to be and attract new followers, he is able to advocate for a more open approach to these new religions and offer a better way to handle them; to respond to them, rather than react.

Gutiérrez ideas on liberation theology was as a multi-faceted, spearheaded response to modern day, major shifts in South American worldview; as an addendum to Vatican II “Gaudium et Spes”; opposition to the influence of Marxism on radical youth; pushing against an influential global Church as well as capitalist powers; an attempt at a continental liberation from 500 years of
The Methodist movement is a group of denominations of Protestant Christianity that came from their belief of the life and teachings of John Wesley. George Whitefield and John's brother Charles Wesley were also leaders of this movement. It started as a revival in the Church of England in the 18th century then it turned into a separate Church after Wesley's death. Because of missionary activity, the movement spread throughout the British Empire, the United States, and several other places. Today it has about 80 million followers.
