Leon Kah has requested me to write him a letter of recommendation for admission to the Honor College. Leon is a phenomenal student and will excel in the Honors College. Leon is a pervious COM 114 - Fundamentals of Speech student of mine, who successfully passes the course with an A. Leon was also an attentive student who always showed up on time and always had the materials ready for class. He was also engaging when it came to class discussions and group work. Along with his academic strengths, Leon was a phenomenal public speaker. Leon was able to thoroughly research his speech topics and was able to clearly communicate his findings and research to the class. While speaking, Leon was always calm and attentive to his audience and always

Elie Wiesel, a holocaust survivor, delivered The Nobel Peace Prize Acceptance Speech, in Oslo on December 10, 1986. He started his speech off by reciting the following prayer: "Barukh atah Adonai …shehekhyanu vekiymanu vehigianu lazman hazeh"—"Blessed be Thou…for giving us life, for sustaining us, and for enabling us to reach this day." Then, after his speech, the people thanked him for everything he had done to help humankind make peace. With a profound sense of humility, he accepted this honor.
...roughout the session. “Good teachers are not born, nor are they made by tutors. They make themselves. Whats more, anyone can teach well. Research shows that there is no personality type that makes a good teacher. Whether you are a shy introvert or an enthusiastic extrovert, you can teach effectively, but only if you know how to learn from your mistakes and your successes”. (Petty 2009 pg.516 2009)

There are two main theories of Speech production, Spreading Activation Theory - SAT (Dell, 1986: Dell & O’Seaghdha, 1991) and Word- Form Encoding by Activation and Verification – WEAVER++ (Levelt et al., 1989: 1999).
This speech ignited the commencement of the Cold War. Through his Iron Curtain speech, Churchill informed America of the actions and policies that Soviet communism has implanted on Europe. Churchill identifies war and tyranny to be the most dangerous post-War threat. Declaring that an “Iron Curtain” has fallen upon the European countries because of the Soviet’s policies. He argues that for security to be upheld by the people, ordinary families and breadwinners need to be protected from the looming horror of war. Restrictions on trade and other defining factors would disallow citizens to live the lives they desire. He describes “the estimated sum of human pain” that the people will reap if something is not done about the destruction of the
On December 20, 2013 at a motivational conference for women in Austin, Texas, a woman by the name of Lizzy Velasquez delivered a heartfelt speech on the power of taking the negatives in life and turning them into positives. Velasquez is one of three people in the world that suffer from a rare syndrome that renders her impossible to gain weight. She talks about how because of this syndrome she was ridiculed, bullied and tormented both as a child and as an adult and was once referred to as the “ugliest woman in the world”, but took hold of those negatives, overcame them and turned them into positive goals for herself. Velasquez delivers a speech so compelling and strong witted that conveys a message of encouragement, tenacity and triumph, she believes in inner strength and defining yourself by the accomplishments, character and compassion that one possesses and not by their outer appearance. My analysis will focus on how Velasquez used the strategies of story-telling, inflection, expression, pauses and redundancy to connect and maintain her audience’s interest as well as evoke their sympathy. Employing the three divisions of speech, her introduction caught the audience’s attention; the body of her speech offered the substance of her position and her conclusion reinforced the idea she wanted to portray. Kids growing up who know their mother and father will never know the struggle that some kids go through that don’t. Some kids grow up never knowing who their real father is. Many parents face the decision on if they should tell their child that they have a sperm donor as a father (Provoost). Veerle Provoost interviewed many couples and children asking how they felt about the sperm donor and if they call him their child’s father or even if they have told their children who their real father is. Veerle Provoost tries to persuade the audience through her support, confidence and word choice that even though some families use sperm donation that doesn’t mean that their family is broken up or different. Provoost did a superb job during her speech on giving support on her research that she performed.
During my interview with Mr. Armand I can honestly say the way he teach his class is appropriate. He makes sure that communication between his and him students were clear. He’s like a parents and a teacher to them. I learned that it is not as easy to be a teacher as everyone thinks it would be but at the same time if you understand your students and their interest everything will be fine. I learned that being a teacher means to help your students succeed at everything they do little by little.

It’s been a great pleasure to have you as my C204 professor. In the first week of class, I’m sure from your powerpoint that you are an organized person both in the class and in the life, just like I do. I am writing to you to seek the opportunity to apply myself to research on the case for the client Havana. You can be sure with my influence our group would develop more innovative ideas and complete all tasks before deadlines.

I am writing this letter in support of Genevieve in her effort to gain acceptance to your institution. I base my recommendation on my experience with Genevieve as her school counselor for the past three years. She is a joy to be around and always has a smile on her face. She is respectful to those around her and shows kindness to her fellow classmates. She is one of the most polite students I have come across in my time at Danville High School.
When asked to name the teachers who have had the greatest positive impact on us, we tend to name those who were warm, energetic, enthusiastic, organized, impartial, and competent in their field. Expert teachers employ all of these traits, and, as the text states, are "experienced" and "effective" and have "developed solutions for common classroom problems" (Woolfolk, 2001). I chose to interview my fourth grade teacher, Mr. Mendez, because he not only demonstrates expertise in teaching, but also has created a fun and proactive learning environment, which I hope to emulate in my future classroom.
