Larry Kane, the author of Lennon Revealed, went on tour with the Beatles in thier early days and knew John Lennon until the day he died. Kane has had an Emmy Award-winning career and is the only American journalist to have traveled with the Beatles during their tour of North America in 1964 and 1965. He interviewed many of John’s closest friends and relatives to incorporate a variety of views. This biography is a bestseller because it provides first-hand accounts that really show the reader who John Lennon was. People like reading books that they can relate to. It is my opinion that anyone who reads this book will find an aspect of John Lennon that they see in themselves. John Lennon, like all human beings, started out searching for purpose in his life. He found purpose through freedom of expression and music. His story begins in Liverpool, England.
John Winston Lennon was born on October 9, 1940 in Liverpool, England. John briefly lived with his biological parents and spent most of his childhood living with his aunt and uncle. Both his aunt and uncle treated him with sincere love, but the absence of his parents would leave a huge wound on Lennon’s upbringing. John was intelligent person, but most of the time used it to create havoc on the establishment. He received his first guitar when he was sixteen. He attended the Liverpool Arts School and it was there where he was introduced to his first true friend, Stuart. John was a musician at the time and Stuart was a promising artist. John gained valuable insights from Stuart and was deeply influenced by his surrealist paintings. It was at that moment in time that John realized he could express his emotions through music.
John’s music career started when his band met and sang with Paul McCartney at a church in 1957. Paul joined shortly thereafter and so did Paul’s friend George Harrison. The band that everybody recognizes today as the Beatles, was formed in 1962 with the final addition of Richard “Ringo” Starkey. John’s first marriage was to Cynthia Powell in 1963 and shortly after the couple had a son, Julian. He later admitted to the author that he felt obligated to marry Cynthia because he got her pregnant.
Growing up, Hinckley Jr. had always seemed like he was going to grow up as a popular kid; he was involved with many sports, which he was a quarterback and also played basketball, and even became class president for a few years. But as John got older, he started to stray away from society and began to stay to himself. His family liked to think of it as him just being shy instead of lacking in social interaction (Linder). As a tennager, John Hinckley Jr. was always fascinated with celebrities. So in 1976 after leaving Texas Tech, where he went to college and would return never receiving a degree after the seven years he was in and out, Hinckley Jr. left his home in Colorado for Hollywood to fulfill his dream as a songwriter ("Biography: John Hinckle...
On December 30th 1879 John got married to his wife Jane. They had three children, John Philip Jr, Jane Priscilla, and Helen. Jane van Middleworth Bellis became Mrs. John Philip Sousa that year. Together they travelled to Europe four times. On one voyage back, John was inspired to write the "Stars and Stripes Forever". Three of their trips to Europe were for performances, another trip was as a vacation. While they were on vacation, Sousa's promoter, David Blakely, died.
John Adams was born in Braintree, what is now Quincy, Massachusetts, on October 30, 1735. His father was a farmer, a deacon of the First Parish of Braintree, and a militia officer. John's mother came from a leading family of Brookline and Boston merchants and physicians. John studied hard in the village school. He was twenty three years old when he graduated from Harvard in the class of 1755. He began to practice law in Braintree in 1758. John and Abigail first met in 1759.
We might have last heard of him as Jen Aniston’s long-time partner and Taylor Swift's unconfirmed ex-beau but it is still evident that John Mayer is a blessing to the music industry due to his meaningful tracks and irrefutable talent. With a strong affinity for his guitar, John Mayer took the whole music planet by storm by singing songs that speak of maturity, daily battles in life and being able to overcome it and the obliterating oblivion by exposing yourself to the harms of life in general. Born John Clayton Mayer in the glorious year of 1977, this American singer slash songwriter slash producer has extended how great music is to him. He worked wonders into flipping different genres such as blues, folk, rock, country, soul and mainstream pop into a John Mayer revamped version.
In his spare time, John would watch television. He liked shows such as "I love Lucy", "Lassie" and "Roy Rogers". This was the lifestyle of Birmingham, a time where you went to work all day and then to the pub to drink and play darts until deciding to stagger home. For the Osbourne family, life was no different. It was all work and little time to enjoy the finer moments in life. While the Beatles were singing about flower power and loving one another, the people of Birmingham simply had to take a good look around them to see the reality of the world: it was hard. Life was no different for the Osbourne family.
John Lennon was very outspoken and contributed greatly to his mission of peace. “He became an increasingly important symbol of the burgeoning counterculture” (DeCurtis). John went against the normal acts and beliefs of society and spoke out. He always expressed his true views and nothing else. This is because he believed in questioning authority and not conforming for anything.“[He] helped redefine the rules of acceptable behavior for rock stars” (DeCurtis). This once again shows his desire to stand out and speak out. He reformed many ideas and practices that needed reform and some that did not. But no matter what he was doing, it was always supporting the fight for peace. Even when it did not involve politics or the stand for peace, he acted differently from what was expected of him by the majority of the population. “How the chords can change the world. To me, that is John Lennon” (Ono 117). John thought that change was necessary, and he intended to do everything he could to insure that it happened. “A man who stood up!” (Ono 117). John expressed and conveyed his beliefs, no matter the consequences. His immense support of the fight for peace helped more and more people see a different side of the world.
“You’ve Got to Hide You Love Away” exemplifies Lennon as a maturing artist, no longer producing lyrics for moving and dancing but for sitting and thinking. As Lennon continues in his career, his songs become even more introspective as he delves deeper into the use of drugs and trying to discover himself. The story this song tells, both as a member of the album Help! and as an individual entity, marks the true influence that Bob Dylan held over Lennon in his early Beatlemania years and the influence’s lasting impact on Lennon’s years to come.
...on April tenth, 1970. The official break up of the band was in court and it was a sad day for Beatles fans across the world (Glassman).

Throughout the course of history there has been many remarkable people that have created an impact on the world. But what is hero? Robert F. Kennedy once said, “Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or lots of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a ripple of hope.” Meaning a true hero is someone who can stand up for an idea, or can help eliminate the unfair treatment in which the rights of a person are ignored; and everytime gives people the faith that everything is going to be okay after all. John Lennon is a good example of a hero based on Robert F. Kennedy's description of a hero. John lennon is a hero because he peacefully fought against war through his fame and music, promoting peace and inspiring many people.
Jeff Lynn was one of the most important members of the band. He was born on December 30, 1947 in Birmingham in the United Kingdom. Lynne was interested in music while he was still in school. When he was fifteen years his father got him a guitar. Though it was made of plastic and had only one string he practiced it all the time. (Petersdorff 3) Jeff was a big Beatles fan. “Lynne is asked if he now admits to being a Beatles fan. ‘I confess,’ Lynne says with a laugh. ‘I’m dead guilty of being a Beatles fan.’” (Wild 10)
“Imagine” by John Lennon, released in 1971, was one of the most influential, and important songs of the last 50 years. This track was viewed as his final statement on religion after many years of confusing mixed signals (WND). Lennon constantly calls upon the power of Imagery to appoint his ideas throughout the song, hence the title. Imagery is the formation of figures, ideas, and mental images through diction (Dictionary.com). Many of the ideas Lennon creates are supported, and even inspired by real life events. In John Lennon's “Imagine”, he uses the power of Imagery and applicable real life events to portray an idealistic Utopia.
John Lennon was born on October 9th 1940 in Liverpool, England 1. His father left the family to sail the seas before Lennon’s earliest childhood memory and his mother was taken away by a car accident when he was 18 2. A year after his mother’s death, the Vietnam War took place, which is The United State’s longest military dispute ever. The world famous band, The Beatles, debut on 1961 not long after the start of the war and through this band, Lennon was able to demonstrate his feelings to the people across the world. "Revolution," performed by The Beatles, was created in 1968, when the anti-war demonstration was on the move. After the separation of The Beatles in 1969, Lennon composed the song "Imagine" (1971) 3. This song proves that Lennon is a Peace-Loving-Atheist and a "Voluntarist" 4 that believes in the scheme that people’s ideas can change social reality; however simultaneously admits that there are constantly wars going on in the world. As a result, he could be a mixture of all four, Realist, Liberal, Marxist and Constructivist. On December 8th 1980, approximately five years after the end of the Vietnam War, Lennon was assassinated by Mark Chapman 5. It is not for certain that the word assassination could be used on a singer, song writer who also published books. However there is no doubt about the fact that Lennon touched many people’s hearts around the world and maybe was even praised as an almighty figure.
