Imagine not being able to control yourself while you have no support from others. Well, in the 1930s, people that couldn’t control themselves were mistreated. They treated patients in the 1930s with inhuman treatments and weren't fully aware of the side effects. Lennie, who is one of the main characters in the novel of Mice and Men could have had a much harder life if he wouldn’t have had his best friend George taking care of him. Although, Lennie had an underdeveloped mind and always gets himself in situations that get him into trouble, George still stayed with him.
