Every driver has to deal with a “lemon” car at least once in their lives, whether their own car or someone else’s- it’s inevitable. I personally know many people who have had to deal with that infuriating problem, including my parents. So the best one can do is to prepare themselves for that situation, and work to prevent it happening to himself. A lemon car, as defined by the DMV’s website, is a car that has a continual problem that persists despite continual repair, through no fault of the driver. Usually the legal definition of a lemon car only covers new cars. The problem must also be covered by the car’s warranty.
These constant repairs and malfunctions can create quite a financial burden on the owner of the car. However, fortunately, there are laws in place in every state, called Lemon Laws, that help the owners of these cars. If your car is a lemon car,

When it comes to preventing the purchase of a lemon car, there are several steps you can take to protect yourself. Before purchasing a used car, you should check the service history and read the vehicle history report. You may also want to have a mechanic check the car, or inspect it yourself for any visual damage like leaking. You may also want to buy a used car that is a certified pre-owned car, though there is no industry standard for such certification, and depends on the trustworthiness and honesty of the dealer. Car dealers will do whatever they can to make a profit, so always remain wary and steadfast, and don’t cave to pressure. Dealers will sometimes attempt to hide the sordid history of the car, or attempt to dissuade you from conducting an independent inspection before purchasing. You must remain steadfast and check the used car thoroughly before you purchase
The simple car that was easy to fix with some simple tools have now become as complex as a supercomputer on wheels. Most people today have decided that automobiles of today are too complicated and just send their cars to a professional for repairs. As of January 2013, the average age of a vehicle operating on the roads today is 11.4 years old. (Associated Press, 2013). People are holding on to their cars a lot longer than in the past. Although, some claim that it is because today’s cars last longer. There is no doubt that today’s economy is also playing a part in the public’s reluctance to part with their older vehicles. However, cars will always need repairs.

meaning it no longer functioned due to major engine problems. This required me to bring it to a shop to have it fixed, where I found out just how rare these cars are. Not only did the shop tech not know what the engine was, he had no instructions in his system on how to work on it. After being turned away from three different shops, I decided to learn how to do it
...ot of factors to look at. One of these factors is the scarcity of the car. If they have made a lot of the car you want, it will be less expensive. Another factor is if the car has been changed from its original state or condition. If it has been broken or damaged it won't be as valuable. A third factor is the year it was made. If a car is 35 years old it is considered a classic. Classic muscle cars are more valuable than newer ones, but if a car is not yet a classic, than a new one will be worth more. Another factor in buying muscle cars is the market value. If you are looking to buy a car and there is another car that is just like it, chances are they are around the same price. You also need to look at the prices of gas. You don't want to buy a car that needs a lot of gas. You should also make a budget. You don't want to be paying for a car that you can't afford.

Alton Lemon filed the case against David Kurtzman, the acting Superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction in the State of Pennsylvania, on March 3, 1971. The Lemon decision usually refers to a combination of two cases, both concerned with State statues allowing support to private schools, Lemon v. Kurtzman and Earley v, Dicenso (403 U.S. 602 (1971)).
When I turned twenty-two I was excited to purchase my first car, I had been saving for 5 years in order to obtain the car of my dreams. I knew exactly what I wanted, all the “bells and whistles”, and I knew exactly what I was willing to pay and not a penny more. I thought I had a strong knowledge of the sales and pricing of the particular car I was hoping to buy, because I had done my research for weeks browsing and comparing the Sunday car ads. I was assured that my knowledge of the sales would get me a fair price and a great deal. However, my overconfidence and naivety, in the “creepy” sales tactics used by the dealership, made me unaware of the three hour nightmare that was about to ensue; leaving me brokenhearted, angry and vowing to never step foot on a car lot again.
The decision to purchase a car is the second largest financial choice a person can make. There are a few options for vehicle financing. Since the majority of people aren’t paying cash outright for their vehicle, figuring out whether to purchase or lease the car can be overwhelming, intimidating and or confusing. Different elements come in to play when deciding whether or not leasing is right for your financial situation and lifestyle. Because the average consumer isn’t educated about the benefits of leasing a vehicle, leases are sometimes not even considered an option. I hope to highlight how there is value in leasing a vehicle, and more drawbacks when it comes to purchasing outright.
Chris Brown may or may not be a good person to buy a used car from depending on if you look to his flaws or his strengths. I personally believe that buying a car from the rapper would be a smart decision. Although his credibility is weak due to the amount of times he has been in the media/law for things less than lawful, someone on such a pedestal would take the time to make sure there was no way to hurt their name. Some may worry that the car could contain traces of drug paraphernalia or illegal items based on his past. However, someone with such a spotlight would make sure their hands were clean, or rather the car in this case. Others may buy a car from Brown merely based on the fact of who he is and the emotion from owning a car used by
When you hear the term “used car”, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Some may think of an old rusty Cadillac that belongs in a junkyard. Others may think of that nice Camaro at the used car dealership for sale. Over the years, used car sales have skyrocketed. In 2012, over 40.5 million used cars were purchased in the United States (Atiyeh, 2013). Used cars are in high demand in today’s economy because of the lower prices, slightly higher gas mileage, and that they can be more trustworthy against some of the newer models. With used car sales always climbing, how do buyers know what they are looking for in a vehicle? How do they come down to the final decision of where to purchase the vehicle? Most importantly, how can buyers make sure that they do not get scammed? This paper will take you through the process of purchasing a used vehicle, from deciding on a budget, all the way to the final purchase of your “new” car.
Used goods are also covered by implied warranties. However, some states have laws that will allow retailers to negate the implied warranty by stating "sold as is. " This is very relevant in purchasing a used car from a private owner. The owner can state that the car is being sold “as is”, which means that once you purchase the car you cannot return it to the owner for a
There are a lot of decisions being made when looking for a vehicle. In order to make the right ones you have to understand what you want but mainly what you can afford. There are many ways you can purchase a car, whether you buy it from a car dealership or a private seller, the process is normally the same. The first thing you should do is set a budget that suits your needs. This will save you from having financial problems later. You don't want to receive repossession letters months ahead for not paying your car on time. Next you want to decide on whether you prefer a new or used vehicle. Pre-owned vehicles require more attention because unlike new vehicles, they've had...
With convenience comes cost. There are many costs associated with owning a car. Firstly learning to drive can be prohibitive, with lessons often out of a lot of peoples budgets. Once you have passed your test buying a car can also prove expensive. It is often the case we have to buy cheap second hand cars as new cars are very expensive. Sometimes this is fine and you can have a reliable car, but other times you pick one up that’s not been well maintained and can cost you a fortune in repairs and keeping it on the road.
