Why are Legos so popular and successful? How did the idea Legos come to be? Legos have had a tremendous impact on the world. Legos have provided a way to relieve boredom and use the mind in a creative way. Legos have shown us that kids can improve brain power, develop a creative sense, and develop problem solving skills that will be important for later in life. Legos have been based on other construction toys as it was based on other toys. Legos and other toys go back to the very beginnings of Earth, of the universe. The company Lego has been created by the intelligence of humans shown through the ages as toys have been created for entertainment and have been made of materials that have built our planet and allowed life to thrive which can …show more content…
Lego is made of a plastic called acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). It is very hard and is what makes Lego very hurtful to step on. The elements that make up ABS is carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen. Carbon is one of the most essential for living organisms as it forms significant compounds. Carbon is especially important for plants as they use it to create glucose for energy. Hydrogen is also important to the creation of life. It is present in every organic compound, and makes two of three atoms in water. Without hydrogen, life could not thrive. Nitrogen is important for life as it helps with growth. Nitrogen is a part of amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein. Protein helps build muscle, tissue, and organs. Without these critical elements, life on earth would cease to exist and …show more content…
This Theory is the idea that explains the formation of the universe. It was thought that the beginning, was nothing but black space. Then the universe started as a small, hot, dense singularity. A singularity are zones that have surpassed human knowledge and understanding. No one, right now, understands. The singularity then started to expand to form the universe. This is thought to have happened over 13.8 billion years ago. Scientist still do not know if this was what happened. Hubble’s law is one reason for the big bang. An article called “Edwin Hubble Evidence For an Expanding Universe” from the Big History Project website stated, “Hubble’s Law basically states that the greater the distance of a galaxy from ours, the faster it recedes. It was proof that the Universe is expanding. It was also the first observational support for a new theory on the origin of the Universe… the Big Bang.” The Big Bang is still a mystery, but it is a crucial part of the creation of the universe and the making of
The history behind Lego’s is an interesting story of how they came to be. The Lego was a great idea. The Lego is a fun, imaginative, creative, and educational toy! The story behind these amazing toys is interesting! The Lego goes way back to the great depression too! These bricks are cool to play with!
The Lego Movie is the story of a complete and utter dystopia but everybody does not know it. When Lord Business pretends to give them taco Tuesday as a form of gift or propaganda, he actually intends to glue them all in one place using the kragle (krazy glue with letters wiped off the tube). When he tries to do this, he is stopped by a simple minded construction worker, who at an earlier date has accidentally found the piece of resistance and learnt how to be a master builder. Through this confrontation will Lord Business rule over the world or will Emmet be able to save his home from being destroyed.
The educational and artistic importance Lego has been long-lasting from generation to generation. In the beginning of 1930’s until now, LEGO bricks has been the driving force of self-imagination and expression for multiple people around the world. It has given a voice to kids, adults, innovation and technology. Generation after generation, LEGO advances forward, yet keeps its core values intact as a family company. Lego is an essential element of toy culture and unlimited boundaries of mufti media and education in the 21st century culture.
The board games and toys developed heavily over the course of the Roman empire, and have had a huge influence on the toys and board games of today. And who knows, maybe the toys and board games that people in this age play will have major influences on the board games and toys of all of the many ages to come.
Lego kits can be used in different businesses and organisations like offices, car parks, arcades and banks.
In his attempt to dethrone the corruption of conformity in his hometown, Emmet and his team will utilize their individual gifts and abilities to take down Lord Business and set free the realm of Bricksburg. This is similar to a concept that Paul refers to in his letter to the Corinthians concerning the body of Christ. In 1 Corinthians 12:18-20, “But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single member, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.” (ESV) Emmet and, by extension, the central theme of the Lego Movie desires to communicate that the things that make individuals different from each other is what makes them important and valuable to society. Creativity and imagination, in this way, becomes the opposite of conformity. The Lego Movie clearly and innovatively communicates that individuals are not just identical cogs in a monotonous machine; rather they are unique and equally important pieces in an intricate
Conformity is especially prevalent in The Lego Movie because it plays on the fact that, while Legos can be used with creativity, they are generally very instruction oriented (e.g. instruction booklets for every lego set). As stated by Joel Arnold, an NPR movie reviewer, “there's an instruction manual for everything, and Emmet eats, watches and says exactly what he's supposed to. The instructions say that's how you fit in, make friends, lead a happy life”. While obviously, this is exaggerated conformity, the conformity seen among the Lego construction workers in the beginning of the film is somewhat realistic, and can be compared to conformity found in any workplace or
The third molecule is protein. On an everyday basis, people eat protein to stay fit and and grow in a healthy manner. Runners keep to foods with lots of protein along with all athletes such as dancers, swimmers and many more. The reason so many people depend on protein is because it helps with the building of cells. These cells contribute to the building of your muscles, keeping them strong and healthy. Protein is made up of Amino Acids, which are found in meat, nuts, quinoa, green veggies, and some beans. Eating protein is important for every living things growth and daily needs.
The LEGO Group organization is famous due to its flagship product – colourful plastic bricks that can be interlocked to form a variety of figures, and then disconnected again. These binding bricks originated in a wooden form when the company was first established in Billund, Denmark by Kirk Kristiansen in 1932 (The LEGO Group, 2012), and today’s well known plastic version was introduced in 1958 (Rosenberg). The company’s head office is located in Billund to this day, and The LEGO Group remains privately owned by Kristiansen’s family (The LEGO Group, 2012). They currently sell toys and teaching materials in over 130 countries worldwide.
Billion years ago, there was an extra-ordinary event without which nothing would exist. It was the beginning of the universe. It was the time when a large amount of energy in an infinitely small space violently expanded and led to the creation of universe and everything else that we see around us today. It can perhaps be regarded as the greatest scientific achievement to understand the history and nature of how the universe came into being.
With all of the designing that was happening in the company, it helped to shrink its profits. Lego City was a popular toy for children but the redesigning shrank the sales and attention the product was once getting. A worker of Lego said it well when he said, “Management was to blame, the same people who were doing crappy products then are making world-class products today” (Greene). Essentially the managers and higher up executives didn’t communication what direction the company should be going. They didn’t have a strategy to follow and tell their employees. With no clear strategy and communication in place, things were a free for all. This lead to the declining profits and stability of the company. Lego assumed that if the designers were able to create whatever they saw fit, that somehow it would lead to a breakthrough in the toy maker’s product line. However, this ideology backfired with high production costs and low profit margins.
As a fan, I view this as a problem that strikes not at the facade of Lego, but one that hits close to the core of what makes Lego Lego. The Lego of yesteryear had simple sets, using few bricks
Many scientists believe that anything with a life, must be carbon based. Although they are correct, for life on earth, the same
Children are the primary stakeholder and the driver of the innovation process in the company. According to corporate responsibility report, it can be stated that the major social role of the company is to serve as an educator in today society. LEGO recognizes that their biggest contribution to society is through products and experiences that serve children’s critical learning and development (Lego Group, 2017). According to the company mission, LEGO is constantly innovating to provide children high-quality products that encourage problem-solving, critical thinking and collaboration. Consequently, LEGO recognizes their impact on children education and attitudes, which compromise the company to maintain high status of products and experiences.
The big bang theory is an attempt to explain how the world began. The big bang theory begins with what is called a “singularity.” This term is used to describe an area in space which defies all the known laws of physics. Singularities are thought to exist at the core of black holes. Black holes are areas of intense gravitational pressure. The pressure is thought to be so intense that matter is pressed together into an infinite amount of pressure. The dense hot mass of the singularity slowly expanded. This process is called inflation. As the singularity expanded the universe went from dense and hot to cool and expansive. Inflation is still continuing on today which means that the universe is continually expanding.
