There are many great players in NBA history including the one and only LeBron James. He has been compared to many including the G.O.A.T, Michael Jordan, based on his game and the way he performs on the basketball court. Throughout his career he has shown greatness on the court and it all started when he was a young boy. LeBron James was born on December 30, 1984, in Akron, Ohio (LeBron James Biography, 2016). When LeBron James was young he had to move around a lot with his mom Gloria James from neighborhood to neighborhood and tried to protect him from the poverty and violence of the streets ( LeBron James Biography, 2016). At this time LeBron had also signed several endorsement deals including one with the popular shoe company Nike for over $90 million on top of his rookie contract (LeBron James, 2017). LeBron’s rookie year turned out a success as he helped make a huge impact on the Cleveland Cavaliers team with a better record than the season before. He was averaging over 20 points per game and won rookie of the year making him one of the only three players in the history to do so with the likes of Michael Jordan and Oscar Robertson (LeBron James, 2017). During the summer he made his first Olympic debut winning the bronze medal and became a father to is first son LeBron James Jr.. The year after the Miami Heat had won the championship in 2006 the East looked open for a team to sweep in and come out the East as the Miami Heat were more older and suffered injuries. During the 2006-2007 season, the Cleveland Cavaliers had won over 50 games playing very consistently with LeBron being runner up to Steve Nash for the MVP race and made it all the way to the NBA finals and got outclassed by the San Antonio Spurs who swept them 4-0 (LeBron James Biography, 2016). That would be the only time that Cleveland would reach the finals due to Boston forming their own big three with Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett who stopped LeBron from going to finals again for some time. LeBron continued to improve leading the team in points, rebounds, assists, steals ,and blocks being the obvious choice for MVP and won them back to back in the 2008-2009 and the 2009-2010 season (LeBron James Biography, 2016). Lebron had made many accomplishments in his career so far, but had still not won a championship as he kept failing to get to the finals and there were questions where LeBron would sign during the offseason of 2009-2010.
