Learning out of Schools
Yogi Berra says, "Life is a learning experience, only if you learn" (qtd. in Reid). People continue to say this famous quote in their conversations, and they use it to say that people learn something new every day in their lives. Learning is not only in schools or in universities because life for any person is like a big university and full of good and bad experiences. Individuals learn from both of them. Everyone will learn each day new skills or knowledge, from birth to death. In this time, populace ask themselves what learning is, and how they learn. "We define learning as a process that leads to change, which occurs as a result of experience and increases the potential for improved performance and future learning,"

Friends are the people who are outside the immediate family home, but they are close. Friendship is very important for adults and children. In “The Importance of Friendship for School-Age Children,” Ferrer and Fugate state that children develop emotionally and morally when they have friends, and together they learn many social skills, such as communication, cooperation, and solving problems. Sometimes when people need to learn about anything in their life the first person they would like to ask is their closest friend. Some friends know better than other friends do, and they can help them to gain more knowledge and skills. I have gained many skills that are important in my life from my friends. For example, last year my friend Khaled taught me how to work on Adobe Photoshop. I now work very well on the program, and I have designed books and magazine covers. In addition, I learned from Sammie how to hunt birds and use Bird Hunting Network. People in society know how important their friends are; and sometimes they spend much more time with them than with their families. Moreover, people learn a lot of information from reading, but they learn even more when they read and write notes. In fact, when people see a science program on TV, they learn more scientific facts from that program than was learned in the classrooms. In “A Corpus Driven Study of the Potential for Vocabulary Learning through Watching Movies,” Webb points out that individuals will start learning more vocabulary after they watch many movies for a long time (497). For instance, I have absorbed many skills and knowledge from the internet and TV programs that have increased my vocabulary, improved my listening in English, and made me familiar with cultures and geographic information about many countries around the world. Moreover, one of my Indian friends has learned Arabic from spending time with us and listening to native Arabic dialect through conversational form. As we know, children learn many skills from their parents like language and activities. Sometimes, children mimic their parents’ action and try to be like them. Furthermore, some kids love their cousins and follow what their cousins say to them, and children sometimes try to wear similar clothes or get the same hair cut like their cousins. Using audio and visual methods to help people to learn are a significant aim that play an important role in the whole education process outside school. Audio and
Marion Winik’s “What Are Friends For?” expresses the characteristics of friendships and their importance in her existence. Winik begins by stating her theory of how some people can’t contribute as much to a friendship with their characteristic traits, while others can fulfill the friendship. She illustrates the eight friendships she has experienced, categorized as Buddies, Relative Friends, Work Friends, Faraway Friends, Former Friends, Friends You Love to Hate, Hero Friends, and New Friends. In like manner, the friendships that I have experienced agree and contradict with Winik’s categorizations.
Friendships are vital in helping children develop emotionally and socially. They provide a training ground for trying out different ways of relating to others. Through interacting with friends, children learn the give and take of social behavior in general. They learn how to set up rules, how to weigh alternatives and make decisions when faced with dilemmas. They experience fear, anger, aggression and rejection. They learn how to win, how to lose, what's appropriate, what's not. They learn about social standing and power - who's in, who's out, how to lead and how to follow, what's fair and what's not. They learn that different people and different situations call for different behaviors and they come to understand the viewpoints of other people.
Learning is important for countless reasons, the most important reason being that it molds a person into who he or she is. What people choose to learn, and also what they choose not to, create the core of their opinions as individuals. Though people do not admit it or openly declare it, it is fair to say almost everyone is self centered. Because of this, and the fact that learning dramatically affects a person, learning is not only thrilling, but also expressive. Furthermore, since learning is expressive, its meaning varies from person to person, therefore making each person’s experiences with learning unique and life changing.
By definition a friend is a person who provides assistance and support. We have different groups of friends for different purposes in our lives. Although there are many different categories of friends, Marion Winik author of “What are Friends For?” mentions that some of the more common groups consist of the faraway, work, family, and former friends (132). We keep our friends because we value their loyalty, communication, support, and dependability.
I would define friendship as complete trust and love between two people. Many people believe that this kind of behavior is reciprocated between two individuals without any expectations. A friend is someone who also provides you with support and whom you can rely on to celebrate special moments with. A friend also comes with many great attributes; such as loyalty, honesty, compassion, trust, and morality. Today’s friend is viewed as someone who shares happiness, common values, history, and equality with another. For example, Aristotle and Cicero both wrote dialogues about friendship and its significance on mankind. Therefore, the key issues that will be discussed are: their views on the similarities of friendship, the differences between friends,
Friendship means different things for everyone. It can mean happiness and trust. Friends are important to connect to, talk to, and to help in tough situations. Friends help teach life lessons. Most importantly, friends are there to love and to feel loved. The Simple Gift by Steven Herrick revolves around the friendship between the main characters, Old Bill, Billy, and Caitlin. Their friendship resulted in them learning valuable life lessons and experiencing the power of love.
Frequently, they have same interests and trust each other to a great extent. A true friend will help his friend when it becomes necessary at any cost. The article also mentions how children go through different stages as they grow up and how parents should keep their eyes and ears open and figure out what their young children are up to. Parents are the main decision makers that shape their children’s experiences as they grow. They make sure their children are walking on the right path in life, unlike companion friends where quite frequently they are at an age where they do not have much experience in life. Companion and parental friendships play a big role in a child’s life, as they are the ones who have a huge impact in one another’s life. People in general end up sharing more with close friends than with their parents because of similar mindsets, similar levels of intelligence and mostly freedom to say whatever you want. Parental friendship is healthier than companion friendship because the parent will surely be a good influence on the child’s
With friends, our lives will be better, our days will be full of joy, and our unhappiness will fade away. Friends will take care when we are in need as we will support them in everything with the best we have. Life with friends will always give us wonderful memories that we will never forget for the rest of our days. Works Cited Viorst, Judith. A. Necessary Losses: The Lovers, Illusions, Dependencies and Impossible Expectations That All of Us Have to Give Up in Order to Grow.
We use the term ‘learning' all the time in everyday life, but what does it mean? Different people will have alternative views on the definition. Commonly its described as the "step-by-step process in which an individual experiences permanent, lasting changes in knowledge, behaviour, or ways of processing the world" (study.com. Wind Goodfriend). Kolb defines individual learning as "the process whereby knowledge is created through the transformation of experience" (Kolb. Experiential Learning: Experience as the Source of Learning and Development. Page 2). This skill is something most people acquire at birth and carry with them throughout their life. Acquiring chunks of information at a time: knowledge, through tasks they've been assigned or,

Friends have the biggest impact and influence in our lives. They can lead us to the path of success or path of failure. So everything that our parents have told us about choosing the right friends is absolutely true. As you get older, you realize that everything your parents have said or have taught you starts to make sense. You are more aware about situations and are a lot more careful so that you don't make mistakes like we often did when we were younger.
While our parents help and support us while growing, our friends will grow with us. These valuable attachments are cherished and needed, and their emotional embrace will always comfort us. With these friends we enter the world of education, our basis to survive in the outside world.
We do not make friends because they are useful but the bond of friendship, once it grows stronger and stronger has a number of positive aspects. There are certain secrets that can only be shared with our friends only. When we are facing a difficult situation in our lives, only true friends come forward to help us overcome all the difficulties.
Friendships are one of the most important things you can get out of life. It’s something that everyone has to have because without it we would all go insane. Just think if no one talked to each other and we never made friends, this world would be a ticking time bomb. Studies say human need friendships and love to survive. So friendship is a big part of your life.
Benefits of watching television at the young age would be that children’s social skill, emotional skill and creativity can be improved by watching the talk shows; it is proved by a study. For example, Children can learn how to communicate with other people and how to react properly when they are asked to response. Although books can transfer the knowledge to the young generations, but it has limitations that certain facial expressions and body languages cannot be transferred by few words.
