Law Enforcement Agencies within When we think of federal law enforcement agencies we only think about the CIA, FBI, DEA, and ATF. There are many different agencies that have their own law enforcement agencies within themselves. Two agencies I found to be within another agency is the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPSIS) which is an investigation agency within the United States Postal Service. I also found the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations (USAF OSI) which is inside the United States Air Force which in turn is inside the Department of Defense. Both agencies work with other federal law enforcement agencies on different cases as needed.

Postal service including its employees, buildings, and its customers. They enforce laws that defend our nations mailing systems and two hundred other federal laws. Their duty is to protect against illegal and dangerous use of the postal service and to ensure that the public has the trust of the postal service. Some of the laws that they enforce are assaults against a postal employee while that employee is performing official duties, investigate if a bomb is sent through the postal service, burglary which consists of an employee stealing a customer’s mail, or someone burglarizing the post office. Over a ten-month period, inspectors found that more than two thousand priority mail and express envelopes, mailed contained the drugs. The postal inspectors worked with the DEA to conduct surveillance and electronic surveillance to identify the black-market distributors. With the help of the postal inspectors and the DEA, the postal inspectors made an arrest of Frank Venezia for violations of federal narcotics and child pornography laws. Due to Venezia sending the packages internationally, arrests in Kazakhstan and Australia were also made. (Annual-Report-2015-Text-Only.doc - U.S. Postal Inspection Service)
The other federal department I mentioned was the United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations or USAF OSI. The purpose of the USAF OSI is to identify, exploit, and neutralize any criminal terrorist threats, intelligence threats against the United States Air Force, the US Government and the Department of Defense. The United States Air Force Office of Special Investigations is a department within the Department of Defense. The USAF OSI has jurisdiction not only nationwide but internationally as
...nt to work together has increased. It has become more common place for federal law enforcement to work with local law enforcement. The monetary influence from programs administered by the Executive Branch with such programs as COPS, helps bring new technologies to local police agencies, thus impacting policing. Moreover, the federal law enforcement’s creation of new crime fighting technologies, eventually make their way into the state and local police departments. This supports the idea that both the Legislative and Executive Branches influence law enforcement; however, the Executive Branch provides a more direct and active influence.
The mission and values of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is up held with strong Constitutional values. Over the years since the FBI was created in 1908 by Attorney General Charles Bonaparte during the Presidency of Theodore Roosevelt. As a progressive during this time period Bonaparte applied his philosophy to forming the FBI with several corps of agents. His thought was that these men should have expertise and not political connections. With the U.S. Constitution based on “federalism” a national government with jurisdiction over matters that cross boundaries, such as interstate and foreign affairs.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, is a law enforcement and national security organization. “The mission of the FBI is to protect and defend the United States against terrorist and foreign intelligence threats, to uphold and enforce the criminal laws of the United States, and to provide leadership and criminal justice services to federal, state, municipal, and international agencies and partners” (“Quick Facts”). There are many different qualifications and requirements to become an FBI Special Agent but the salary and career outlook make them worth it.
The individuals within our society have allowed we the people to assess and measure the level of focus and implementation of our justice system to remedy the modern day crime which conflict with the very existence of our social order. Enlightening us to the devices that will further, establish the order of our society, resides in our ability to observe the Individual’s rights for public order.
Police: Breakdowns that allowed corruption are still uncorrected, study finds. The chief concedes that mediocrity became a way of life at all levels of the department. The Los Angeles Police Department failed time and again to take steps that might have headed off the worst corruption scandal in its history, according to a sweeping self-indictment prepared by the department's own leaders. In a letter accompanying the long-awaited Board of Inquiry report into the corruption centered in the department's Rampart Division, Police Chief Bernard C. Parks called the scandal a "life-altering experience for the Los Angeles Police Department" in which corrupt officers took advantage of lax supervision to carry out criminal acts. "We as an organization provided the opportunity," Parks wrote.
United States Border Patrol has been around since 1904 enforcing and regulating laws under the immigration and Nationality Act. U.S. border patrol is now under the Department of Homeland Security, which was created as a response to the attacks of September 11, 2001. Over the years, their jurisdiction and missions have changed to better protect the safety of nation. Although border patrol is a need for any nation, their extensive acceptations to constitutional laws can often be taken advantage of. The mission of the U.S. border patrol should be to prevent illegal aliens, which are a threat to American society, from reaching their purpose. Frequently, their purpose can be confused or executed in a bias manner.
In the 21st century, the world as we know it suffers from psychotic, demented, treacherous and, sophisticated crimes. This world would be corrupt without a tunnel of light if it was not for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, also known as the FBI, is a corporation that seeks fidelity, bravery and, integrity for the United States of America. The FBI researches shocking and concerning crimes the news reports about politics, war and, safety that we hear on the television about issues that are being reported to the people. These cases of transgression are missions the FBI analyzes, such as hacking information from double spies, locating terrorists, seeking pedophiles, cracking down unknown mobsters, gang leaders and serial killers, white-collar crime, public corruption, cyber-crime, counter intelligence and civil rights.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement often referred to as I.C.E is an elite agency under the branch of Homeland Security formed in 2003 in response to the attacks on 9/11. ICE has two major components, Homeland Security Investigations and Enforcement and Removal Operations. It is also the second largest law enforcement organization in the United States, second only to the FBI. ICE was created when merger of the investigative and interior enforcement elements of the U.S. Customs Service and the Immigration and Naturalization Service. ICE has over twenty thousand employees in offices all over the U.S. and in forty seven foreign countries, about seven thousands of these employees are special agents. ICE has only one field office in New Jersey, located in Newark but it has nearby offices in Philadelphia and New York City. ICE has six detention facilities in New Jersey. A few of them are: Bergen County Jail, Monmouth County Correctional Institution, and Essex County Correctional Facility. Currently ICE doesn’t have a director, but the assistant director is Daniel Ragsdale and Chie...
Law Enforcement is the first line of action and is the most dangerous component in the justice system. They take crime that happens in their area, investigate crimes and gather evidence.” Law enforcements offices may arrest offenders, give testimony during the court process and conduct follow-up investigation if need.” People look up to the law enforcements because officers being on the line of duty protect the people from crime that’s being commit by others. Crimes are reported to the police which are called “crimes known to the police “which are the more serious crimes. Every government agency under the American constitution may have its own police force. But there are some pros and cons about the law enforcement for example in 2008 my cousin Mich...
I believe that criminal justice employees are unmotivated. Having almost 20 years of experience in the juvenile justice system there have been times that I have witnessed many unmotivated workers. I have also been unmotivated at times. I believe that many people become unmotivated for several reasons. The biggest reason I feel is due to moral between workers and the supervisor. This happens when the supervisor fails to treat everyone the same. He is strict with some workers and lenient with others or he fails to compliment his workers for a job well done but is quick to write a worker up for infractions of the rules. There are other supervisors who make promises that they have no intention on keeping and they have problems keeping their word. For example they tell you that you will get a good raise if your work hard but they fail to mention your extra efforts during your review. The worse supervisors are the ones that encourages their employees to be a team player but they fail to be one
Over the course of the history of the United States of America, the country has had struggles with its own borders and the protection of those borders. Illegal immigration is a big problem and the smuggling of drugs, weapons, and cash over our borders into our country has evolved into a bigger problem. The United States has over seven-thousand miles of border to cover each day. That is quite a bit of land, but the only problem with this is there is a lack of manpower to cover every single mile of border. The US shares its borders with Canada and Mexico. All along these borders are small communities and cities that are occupied by US citizens. This means that these cities and communities require the protection of our Homeland Security Agency.
The USPS needs to be restructured to better suit the changing world. The United States Postal Service, or USPS, is the most commonly used mail service in the United States but, it is slowly being replaced by e-mail and private contractors who are easier, faster, and more convenient. The USPS will have to adapt to a world that is filled with people searching for services that are more internet based, faster, and convenient.
Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a law enforcement officer? Most people imagine driving fast and running after the “bad guys”. While this is one part of many law enforcement careers, there are many other things that law enforcement officers do in their daily duties. While law enforcement is an exciting career, officers must be able to face dangerous situations daily, be organized, have good writing skills and work well with high stress situations.
As far as intelligence agencies go, there are a few that are common household names, like the CIA, NSA, and the FBI. Another agency that is still a major player, and has recently been the subject of much discussion and controversy is the DIA . The reason for this controversy and debate is because many people, both inside and outside of the IC , view the DIA as an agency that is no longer necessary within the IC. Although the DIA has shifted its focus in recent years, crossing over significantly into the realm of intelligence that is currently being covered by other organizations, they still have a very vital role as an organization within the IC. If the organization can redirect itself, returning to the roots of what it was originally created
When Americans go to check their mail, usually people find a plethora of advertisements and bills. It is very scarce for someone to receive “treasures” in the mail because most technologically advanced people continue to drift over to the internet as a way to reach each others, via e-mail and different forms of social media. Thus the postal service is failing in this growing economy. The United States Postal Services do not need reconstruction. It should be demolished, due to the fact that hundreds of trees are being wasted, and the United States Postal Service would require millions of dollars just to keep itself alive, despite losing billions already.
