In 2016 this famous gymnast did this. Her name is Laurie Hernandez. Laurie Hernandez was a very extraordinary, amazing gymnast and a key person who gave her team members confidence. Laurie has one older brother, Marcus, and one older sister, Jelysa, her mom is Wanda and her dad is Anthony. She was 7 years old when she was put in dance, ballet, and gymnastics classes. Laurie Hernandez watched the gymnastics on live tv and that's what inspired her to do this. Laurie Hernandez joined the gymnast Olympics elite level at age 12. She is one of the few Hispanic athletes to make the Olympic gymnastics team. Laurie Hernandez became a professional Olympic gymnast in the month of August in the year of 2016. 4,14,28,). Laurie Hernandez continues to be an energetic person. Laurie Hernandez has been on a tv show called Good Morning America. Laurie Hernandez had came there in a big crystal ball smiling. I thought that Laurie Hernandez was an inspiring person to her fans. She inspires her friends, her family, her teammates, and her coach. I also thought that she has a good character in her. She continues to inspire others. She also said before she started gymnastics, “I can do this” and her team members heard it. So today, we should try to do what she did. We should be kind. If you try to be kind and have confidence, and work hard you can do anything you dream of doing. You can do anything if you get good grades and get in to a great college and take the class you want to take and pass the class. Don't say you can't because you can if you study with a friend. Ask for help if you need help. Just remember you can do anything (Lajiness 18, and opinion).

The author Jane Yolen said, “Literature is a textually transmitted disease, normally contracted in childhood.” This disease she referenced I never seemed to contract. My experiences with literature, both reading, and writing, have been dull, to say the least. There was never anything that stuck out to me or had a changing impact on my perception of literature. Literature was a job that I had to show up to and pay attention to when I was told This was true until I began reading a biography about one of my favorite artists. It was a book about Selena, who's full name is Selena Quintanilla Perez, and was written by her husband, Chris Perez. As I was reading this book, I experienced the first time that a piece of literature can have an impact on

Known as the “Queen of Tejano” and the “Mexican Madonna”, Selena Quintanilla-Perez was the adored Latin singer who sadly did not get to live to see all of the success of her career. One of her most famous quotes is, “We all die. The goal isn’t to live forever but to create something that will (PhilosIblog, 2014).” That is just what Selena did and she made sure that her legacy would live on for years. Selena surely left a her mark in this world with the help of her family, in her short lived 23 years. Selena was an amazing singer, she even made it very far in a genre of music that was dominated by men. Selena Quintanilla-Perez is an influential person because of her loving personality, her music career, her determination to succeed in a genre that was only men, and her success with her music that will never stop playing even if she is not here.

Selena Quintanilla, the madonna of Tejano music. Such an empowering person; she was beloved by many. Her tragic death caused an immense outrage and pained many. Yolanda Saldivar, her killer made a huge mistake that day. Nothing can justify her shooting Selena. Her actions were driven by hatred towards the Quintanilla family, greed, and caused an immense outbreak of mourning. Although some may say that her actions were justified because of her being fired, that is not a good enough reason to shoot someone. Here are my explanations as to why Yolanda saldivar did not have a valid reason to end Selena Quintanilla’s life.
The ocean is mysterious to mankind. The unfathomable vastness of the ocean intrigues humanity into exploring it. In life, the immense possibilities that lie in the future compel us to reach for the stars. In the poem “The Story” by Karen Connelly, an individual willingly swims into deep waters even though they are fearful of what may exist in the waters. The swimmer later finds out that their fears were foolish, which illustrates the human tendency to venture into the unknown. The theme conveyed in this poem is that life is like a rough, uncertain, uncontrollable ocean that we must find get through with experience.
