Six years later Lana Del Rey has been nominated for a Golden Globe and three Grammys, and has one of the largest cult followings as an alternative artist that I have ever seen. The song Salvatore on Lana Del Rey’s album Honeymoon is, in my opinion, one of her better songs simply because of the fact that it does not sound like any other song she has produced. It opens with a soft flute solo, followed by a violin backed up by percussion. During this song, Lana Del Rey’s pitch range is much more diverse than many of her other songs. She usually sings in a lower range, comparable to an alto, but in Salvatore Lana Del Rey hits notes that could be considered soprano. Although Del Rey’s vocal range suggests that the song would build in dynamics, it stays at an almost constant mezzo forte. Many of her songs stay in this area dynamics wise, so that the notes wash over you rather than overpower you. There are a few different tone colors heard throughout the course of the song, but the most recognizable are the crispness of the drums and the dark tones of the violins and Del Rey’s

In Blacula, the scene in which Blacula introduces himself to the descendant of his dead wife, Tina, for the second time they are in a club. There He Is Again by The Hues Corporation, plays in the background suggesting that she should be cautious of this mysterious individuals ulterior motives and “don’t let him follow through” (The Hues Corporation). The song continues to discuss how this mysterious man put this woman under a trance and is able to “read her mind, like an open book” and she begins to fall madly in love with him (The Hues Corporation). In the same way, Vampire in Brooklyn utilizes music to help strengthen the story. In the scene in which Det.s Rita and Justice go to Club Zeko to talk to Dr. Zeko, the band plays Stevie ...

The band that her family formed not only helped her find fame but it also helped her find love in a musician named Chris Perez.(Hispanic 2) Once she rose to stardom Selena was not corrupted by money. ...diate slight decrescendo when the chorus ends. In this case, I would argue that the instrumental background adds to the lyrics by giving it a specific beat and accentuating the sounds of the words, with sounds from the guitar or drums. The overall dynamic level in this piece is mezzo-forte, meaning somewhat loud.

It holds such power over captives and captors alike that they cannot help but feel enamoured to the life it brings. Cesar especially feels the beauty of music “Oh, how he loved to hear the words in his mouth… It didn't matter that he didn't understand the language, he knew what it meant. The words and music fused together and became a part of him” and through music, he discovers his latent talent for singing (224). Based only on Roxanne’s previous arias, Cesar’s potential is outstandingly bright when he sings for the first time without any training whatsoever. Not only do the others learn to appreciate his gift, but Roxanne herself recognizes how promising he is or she would not have bothered to waste her time tutoring him. Beforehand, Cesar is nothing remarkable, just another one of the terrorists who detains them, but the opera transforms him into a separate person. Like the mansion enveloped in the garua, Cesar is heavily shrouded by serious self-esteem issues and fear, but after his breakthrough, his worries suddenly disappear and his life becomes a reservoir of joy. If “life, true life, was something stored in music”, then Cesar has lived a deprived life; his passion for music was just unfolding, but fate robs the world of who “was meant to be the greatest singer of his time” (5,
