Lagoon 2k17 This summer i went to Lagoon. It was super fun. We drove to it, and we were super cramped in our car. But luckily we made it. When we got there, the first thing i saw was The Wicked ride. I wanted to ride it, but at the same time i didn’t think i would do it. Then we got our tickets and they let us into the park. The first ride I rode there was the old wood ride. For some reason I was nervous for this one too. But once i got on, i wasn’t nervous anymore, and i enjoyed the ride. It was a little bumpy, but the ups and downs were super fun. I rode that ride with my sister, dad, and my little bro. It was awesome. Then, All of us went onto a ride called the Spider. It is one of my favorite rides. I thought i would get dizzy, because the cart spins while you are riding the rollercoaster. …show more content…
I was more nervous than ever. My stomach was churning and I was scared. “ Mom, I’m gonna go on another ride.” “No, you’re staying right here!” When me, Kylee, And my mom got all on, It took a few minutes for us to take off. The Lagoon worker put our seat belt things and i was scared it wasn’t on all the way. I then noticed it was latched down right and tight, and i wasn’t worried anymore. When it started, we darted up the coaster. When we got to the peak of the high part, it stopped for about 2 seconds. The we zoomed down the big peak. The rest of the ride was fast and fun. After it was all over, It was my favorite part. After that awesome ride, my sister tried to convince me to go on the Cannibal. I tried to face my fear of that coaster, but i didn’t. My sister ended up going on it with my mom. My mom said it was he favorite ride. She even tried to convince me, but I still didn’t go on. I was too scared of it for some stupid reason. We then let our little brother pick some rides he wanted. He wanted a smaller coaster. We went on that one. He loved it. He had so much fun on it. We also went on the Bat. That one was
It was the summer of 2012 and my family was taking another trip to Six Flags Great America. Earlier that summer we went just for me to be disappointed. At the time I wasn’t 54 inches yet and couldn’t ride any of the rides that I wanted to because they were the most popular at the amusement park. But, I hit a growth spurt between trips and we planned to ride all of the big rollercoasters. The one that I was most terrified of at the time was Raging Bull, one of the tallest, fastest, and longest steel coasters in the US. As we started to wait in line for the ride I was shaking with both anticipation and fear and began to rethink my idea to ride the rollercoaster. I decided to stay in line and see what many people thought was a great coaster.
In Lord of the flies, chapter one, the boys are trapped on an island, that has a lagoon. A lagoon is an extended salt water section that is separated from the actual ocean. The fair boy now known as Ralph points out: “This is an island. At least I think it’s an island. That’s a reef out in the sea” (Golding 7-8). The fair boy mentions the reef, which means a ridge of rocks that lie above or below the sea. There were also many trees, but since their plane crashed, that caused most of the trees to fall. While the boys start to go forward into the island they discover other things on the island: “The shore was fledged with palm trees. These stood or leaned or reclined against the light and their green feathers were a hundred feet up in the air
After walking past those, my family and I walk under the giant globe. It is an enormous structure and walking under it made me feel like an ant. It was white and had the appearance of a giant disco ball. There was a line to go inside the globe too. This was a ride called Spaceship Earth. It felt cold and cramped walking into the globe. When I got on the ride, it brought us back in time. Anyone could choose their own language, so we thought of listening to it in Japanese. This showed cave men, the Romans, the Egyptians, people from the 1800s, and people from now. This ride also showed us what we would do in the future. It was a funny feature, where it showed ourselves flying in hover cars and using other futuristic inventions. That was the end of the ride after that.
There is an important crisis in the Indian River Lagoon that nobody really wants to address. Why? Well, if everyone knew that the lagoon was so polluted, nobody would swim in it. In fact, the five counties bordering the 156 miles of the lagoon could suffer extreme economic loss. If tourists don’t come to visit the area, then the beach-side shops will certainly decrease in number, leaving more people without a job. Have you ever been outside during season (mainly early January through late March)? The snowbirds (people that come down to Florida to wait out the winter) are all over the place. They make up for a large amount of the purchases during that time. If these people think the lagoon is polluted, they might decide to go somewhere else
Handshoe had to get all of the tickets and drink bracelets. Next we got inside and Me, Landon, and Zach got a locker so we didn't have to carry around our bags all day. So the we go to our first ride of the day but Zach was to scared to get on anything so he just waited, we got on the Corkscrew, and it had a ton of twists and turns. After that we just walked around for a while, but then landon got to scared to get on anything else and so it was just me. So me and Landon were supposed to go on this ride called the Magnum, so i got into one of the cars and then i told Landon to come on and he said ha ha, no, and so i was stuck on this ride all by myself and i was kinda scared. After what landin did to me i just found another group to ride rides with and so i found Brandon Chase's group and just rode rides with them and Bradlee Kinnard, We rode The Rougarou, The Millennium Force, and a ton of other rides, and while on most of the rides i lost my voice and got sunburned. Then it was time to
Woke up on Sunday morning and decided that we would explore Hawkesbury region today, after hearing good things about it. Hawkesbury is a huge city in New South Wales and 80% of this region is national park or reserve.
I know it was just a ride in a park, but I always think about day when I'm feeling too scared to try something new. I remember what it felt like to fly down that big blue slide. I realize that I might be quiet, even invisible, but hidden inside me is a brave heart.
iii. EU legislation i. Habitats Directive has been often criticised to obstruct large-scale renewable infrastructure. We are opposed to this idea as we consider the EU Birds and Habitat Directives to present a transparent and robust legal framework for renewables deployment. It is primordial that for each sustainable development, environmental impacts regarding the technology design and the location considered should be initially assessed to provide that the impacts on Natura2000 sites could be limited or mitigated. Application of the Habitat Directive Article 6(3) and 6(4) preclude that in the case that there are no less-detrimental alternatives to achieve the public interest, Habitat Directives does not prevent development even when mitigation
There have been many people working to help with this issue. The majority of the activists working on this issue think that a sea sanctuary would be the best solution for the animals. A sea sanctuary is a netted-off area in a natural body of water. Most of the whales and dolphins have been living in captivity for many years and wouldn’t be able to survive in the wild anymore. A sea sanctuary would let them retire from performing, have less forced family groups, and have a more natural, peaceful environment for them to live in. The idea is that the sea sanctuaries would eventually be empty since there won’t be anymore breeding of the captive animals or capturing of wild animals. The Whale Sanctuary Project is looking for a
Swansea Tidal Lagoon One sustainable tourism project (tool) which is hoping for the go ahead. Which will have a positive impact on the economic and environmental sectors, this project will also be a major tourism attraction for Swansea as it will create a u shaped wall up to 6 miles long from Swansea’s new university campus to Swansea’s docks. This major sustainable tool is the Swansea Tidal Lagoon which consists of 16 turbines which will be harnessing tidal energy and will be able to power up and estimated 120,000 homes for a century, this will make Swansea a more greener and sustainable city and its one of the first of its kind to be built within the uk. Once the Lagoon is complete it will generate a predicted 495GWH (Gigawatt hours).
I have always been fascinated by carnival rides. It amazes me that average, ordinary people eagerly trade in the serenity of the ground for the chance to be tossed through the air like vegetables in a food processor. It amazes me that at some time in history someone thought that people would enjoy this, and that person invented what must have been the first of these terrifying machines. For me, it is precisely the thrill and excitement of having survived the ride that keeps me coming back for more.
Mikeal wasn’t making it easier by making jokes about loose screws that would burst as soon as the roller coaster dropped “falling to our deaths” he said. It only took about 50 seconds to reach the top before the big drop. The whole way up I tried keeping myself from looking down, but when we were about to drop I couldn’t help myself but look. A horrible rush of chills went through my body. I wanted to scream but no words were coming out of my mouth.
HAHAHA me and my friend, Kimberly, we are hanging around deciding what we should go on first. We started off simple with the caterpillar. The ride was okay, we rode the ride a couple of times around, but then Kimberly said, "this is getting boring." So, then I said, "let's go to the one where it's like you're flying on kites." That one was fun it feels like you're free and flying when you're going down your stomach drops a little. Then, I was "let's go to the REALLY fun ones."
It’s funny how time seems to speed up in the most unfortunate times, and slows down when you need it to the least. Then the coaster stops, and the passengers step off, most of them in a woozy, surreal state. I follow my mom onto the ride that seats two in a row. I pull the heavy straps down over my chest, and buckle it in. Now my worry has turned into full blown chaos, and my insides are flipping
When I heard my parents talking about going to Disney World I was so excited. It was a long trip down to Florida and I could not sit still, because I was so excited. We finally arrived that evening and decided to stay in a hotel near the theme park. When it was time for bed I could not go to sleep for a long time, because I was so excited about going at Disney world. When I saw the big mirror ball from the entrance, I was amazed. Disney world had a wide variety of rides. There were tons of rides that shocked me. Some of these rides made you feel like you were riding in a jet because of how fast they were. There was even a roller coaster ride in the huge mirror ball. It was a slow ride, but I still liked it because there was air conditioning inside the ball. We spent all day at the park until we had ridden everything. That night Disney World had a firework show. The fireworks seemed like they lasted forever with the amazing colors bursting in the air one right after another. When the firework show finally ended my parents told me that it was time to leave. I was...
