Lady Macbeth's Mistakes

Human beings are not perfect, and, although people often make mistakes, it is the recognition of those mistakes and the demonstration of remorse that indicates an ability to change. In Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, spurred by the predictions of the witches of her husband’s future as king, makes decisions she will later come to regret. Although she appears to be strong in planning the king’s murder, her moments of doubt throughout the play indicate a sense of weakness which ultimately lead to her mental instability and death.

Lady macbeth towards the beginning of the book was showing that she is in control by planning a murder.However, she really was weak as she had to ask for help to rid her of tenderness to commit the

murder of King Duncan,“Come, you spirits that serve the thoughts of mortals: rid me of the natural tenderness of my sex and fill me from head to toe with direst cruelty!” (I, v, 39-42). Lady macbeth wanted evil spirits to come in and help her and fill her up with cruelty. lady macbeth had everything planed to kill the king but she just couldn't do the deed. When it was time to kill duncan she couldn't go through with, “I left the dagger ready. He couldn’t miss them. If Duncan hadn’t looked like my father in his sleep, I’d have done it myself” (II, ii, 11-13).She had macbeth kill Duncan for her because duncan looked to much like her father.
Although lady macbeth appears to be evil because she planned and pushed her husband to kill Duncan, her moments of self-doubt show otherwise. When she's alone, “Nothing’s gained, all’s lost, when a wish fulfilled brings no contentment….What can’t be cured has to be endured. What’s done is done” (III, ii, 4-12). Yes lady macbeth however had someone else commit the murder, she still planned it all and had it all happen.
