She is manipulative, vicious, devilish, and walks around with the demeanor of a domineering man. If you thought I was talking about your mother-in-law or step sister, well, you were wrong; I was discussing the assortment of atrocious attributes of Lady Macbeth. The central theme of this essay is that Lady Macbeth was the primary element of Duncan's demise. Like I expressed in the introduction, Lady Macbeth used manipulation to get what she wanted. To begin, I found that she insulted him and his masculinity (Lady Macbeth, I, vii, l. 49-51). When Macbeth told Lady Macbeth that he wasn't going to kill Duncan, she was furious. Another essential point from the text states, "Come, you spirits. . . of direst cruelty" (Lady Macbeth, I, v, l. 37-40). For Lady Macbeth to go through with the murder, she needed the sweetness from her femininity replaced with the foul bile of a sinister male. She used the spirits to change her to help commit the crime. To sum up, Lady Macbeth used the minds of being to get her way; however, there is more to prove Lady Macbeth has a higher role in the passing of Duncan. Macbeth doesn't want to murder Duncan. Seldom use, "Welcome hither, I have begun to plant thee and will labor to make these full of growing" (Duncan, I, iv, l. 28), from the text as an argument to prove Macbeth's innocence; but, this quote expresses a lot more that meets the eye. In this line, Duncan is talking to Macbeth about how he planted seeds and promised to grow them in his honor. Duncan showed kindness to him and expressed his gratitude toward Macbeth; so, then why would Macbeth want to kill Duncan? Yes, one could argue that Macbeth was the ring leader in their criminal endeavors when he says, "Let not light see my black and deep desires" (Macbeth I, iv, l. 51) which is when he states that he does ponder maniacal and macabre
