Lady Macbeth obviously has something wrong with her. She has this thirst
for power and also pressures Macbeth to kill the king so that they can be crowned.
The way she has psychotic episodes and does reckless behavior shows that this
could be a sever illness for her. Not only might she have BPD (borderline personality
disorder) she may also have post-partum depression that involves her having a
baby and the baby not making it can bring up a tremendous amount of emotions.
Nevertheless, Lady Macbeth shows many forms of illness such as wanting to
kill the king and frame it on the guards. As crazy as this may sound, she may not
have any control of herself wanting and thinking these things. Borderline Personality

While figuring out what may be wrong with Lady Macbeth, results have conducted that if she has BPD that it was out of control due to heredity. Looking into studies about this disorder, it has shown that BPD is an illness that is STRONGLY inherited.

In addition to her illness, Signs and symptoms that Lady Macbeth shows are
very familiar with this disorder. Extreme reactions are very strong in Lady
Macbeth’s personality, which is the number one symptom in this disorder. Lady
Macbeth realized that Macbeth brought back the daggers after murdering the king
and in an instant scowled at Macbeth and brought the daggers to the guards herself.
Though we cant actually see and feel what Lady Macbeth does, we can presume that
she has a distorted or unstable image of herself which could possibly lead to many
different actions, if she portrayed herself as a murderer than most likely that is what
she will do. The biggest sign of Lady Macbeth having this disorder is inappropriate
intense anger, Lady Macbeth quotes “when you durst do it, then you were a
man”(Act 1, Scene 7) this quote meant that if Macbeth did not kill the king then he is
not a man. So Lady Macbeth is deranged to the point where if Macbeth doesn’t do
what she wants than she will do it herself.
However, Lady Macbeth may also suffer from Post-pardum Depression. In
the play of Macbeth, Lady Macbeth stares at some baby clothing which may mean that she had a baby and he or she didn’t make it. The symptoms that fall under the category or post-pardum depression are loss of appetite, insomnia, intense irritability and anger, overwhelming fatigue, loss of interest in sex, lack of joy in life, severe mood swings, and thoughts of hurting ones self. Though Lady Macbeth does not raise a child, she still experiences a few of these symptoms strongly in the anger department. If the illness isn’t treated as soon as possible it could lead to post- pardum psychosis, which is a rare and more severe condition that involves hallucinations and delusions, paranoia, and disorientation. In conclusion, Lady Macbeth has a serious disorder and should be treated as soon as possible before she plans the demise of another king or even the townspeople. Out of the two disorders listed, it is obviously shown that Lady Macbeth suffers more from BPD because extremity is a very strong quality that she has. With that quality of hers, suicide or suicidal attempts are very likely. According to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIH) 80% of people with BPD have suicidal behaviors and 4 out of 9 actually commit suicide. The only thing keeping

In Act 1, scene7 she really excel’s herself in how far she will go to manipulate Macbeth, to get her way. He not prepared for her rage when he announces his change of heart.
Macbeth tells himself to act like a man in the following lines: “Prithee, peace! / I dare do all that may become a man; / Who dares do more is none” (I, vii, 45-47). This quote by Macbeth shows how he wants to be a man by killing King Duncan, but he does not think this would be an act of righteousness. Macbeth is in a controversy with himself in this situation. If he does not kill the king then his wife, Lady Macbeth, will not think he is a man, but if he does kill the king then he will betray his leader’s trust in him. Betrayal would not be seen as an act of manliness. Jarold Ramsey explains the situation in the following sentence: “And, striking more ruthlessly at him, she scornfully implies that his very sexuality will be called into question in her eyes if he refuses the regicide” (288). This quote by Jarold Ramsey explains how Macbeth’s manliness will be determined in the eyes of Lady Macbeth when he makes his decision on whether or not he will kill the king. Lady Macbeth shows her desire of being queen in the following lines: “What beast was’t then / That made you break this enterprise to me? /When you durst do it, then you were a man” (I, vii, 47-49). Unlike Macbeth, Lady Macbeth envisions a man to be opportunist, cruel and ruthless instead of honorable and loyal. When she receives the letter from Macbeth and learns of her chance to be queen, she prays that the spirits "that tend on mortal thoughts [would] unsex [her]", and that she will be "fill[ed] from the crown to the toe of direst cruelty", so that she would have the strength to murder Duncan. Believing the spirits would "unsex" her, she hopes that she wouldn't be bothered by a woman's kindness or remorse and thus would become a cruel killer, like a man.
