Lady Macbeth obviously has something wrong with her. She has this thirst
for power and also pressures Macbeth to kill the king so that they can be crowned.
The way she has psychotic episodes and does reckless behavior shows that this
could be a sever illness for her. Not only might she have BPD (borderline personality
disorder) she may also have post-partum depression that involves her having a
baby and the baby not making it can bring up a tremendous amount of emotions.
Nevertheless, Lady Macbeth shows many forms of illness such as wanting to
kill the king and frame it on the guards. As crazy as this may sound, she may not
have any control of herself wanting and thinking these things. Borderline Personality

In addition to her illness, Signs and symptoms that Lady Macbeth shows are
very familiar with this disorder. Extreme reactions are very strong in Lady
Macbeth’s personality, which is the number one symptom in this disorder. Lady
Macbeth realized that Macbeth brought back the daggers after murdering the king
and in an instant scowled at Macbeth and brought the daggers to the guards herself.
Though we cant actually see and feel what Lady Macbeth does, we can presume that
she has a distorted or unstable image of herself which could possibly lead to many

different actions, if she portrayed herself as a murderer than most likely that is what
she will do. The biggest sign of Lady Macbeth having this disorder is inappropriate
intense anger, Lady Macbeth quotes “when you durst do it, then you were a
man”(Act 1, Scene 7) this quote meant that if Macbeth did not kill the king then he is
not a man. So Lady Macbeth is deranged to the point where if Macbeth doesn’t do
what she wants than she will do it herself.
However, Lady Macbeth may also suffer from Post-pardum Depression. In
