Is the book really better than the movie? To answer this question, I have to say no, the movie is better. I also have proof and that is La Vida Robot (book) and Spare parts (movie) show similarities and differences which will be in this paper. These two things are based on a true story that happened in a small town in Arizona. The similarities and differences will be spoken about while looking at the beginning, middle and end. In the book La Vida Robot, it was about two teachers trying to earn trust of four high school students by building a robot. In the beginning of this it mainly talks about Carl Hayden Community High School and the struggles the students go through. The book also informs that 92% of the school is hispanic and a lot of them are undocumented including the four main charters. Then in the middle of the book it gives small details of how they built the robot. Also in the middle of the book it told more about the four high schoolers. At the end of the book it showed all of the rankings and told us how well Carl Hayden did. So to sum up that in the book La Vida Robot gives mainly details about the school Carl Hayden and the scoring in the competition. …show more content…
In the movie Spare Parts, it shows a teacher who been through alot and teaches the students how to build a robot and showed them that there can be good out of the bad.
In the beginning of the movie it showed how the four high schoolers ment and joined a club. It also showed the struggles that the kids go through. In the middle of the movie it showed the kind of struggles it was to build a robot from scratch. The school the four students went was also extremely broke and robots parts are not cheap so which means they had to get old parts. Finally at the end of spare parts it showed that Carl Hayden won the under water competition and what happened to the characters ten years
latter. Since we know more about the book La Vida Robot and the movie Spare Parts it’s time to talk about the facts. Now it’s time to learn about the true story. In the movie it shows that there was only one teacher that helped the boys but actually there was two. In the book it made it sound like building the robot came easy but actually it was hard and cost a lot of money. Both book and movie had stuff they left out. Now to see which one is better it depends on wich one left out the less details. To come to conclusion the movie is better. The reason for this is simple, the book gave out bad details about the difficulties the kids went to building the robot but more deatils about the school. Not only in the movie it showed more deatils about building the robot but about how they got the idea cause every good story comes from an idea. Not only the movie gave more details but it gives the viewers a better perspective on the struggles the kids went to. So to answer the question the book is not always better than the movie.
For example, Mama goes to the bank in the movie and is given a hard time about paying her mortgage, but this did not happen in the book. Another major difference is that the school bus scene, where the Logan kids played a trick on the white kids, was not shown in the movie, even though it was an important part of the story. There are some character changes as well. Lillian Jean, Jeremy, R.W, and Melvin are Simms’ in the book, but in the movie they are Kaleb Wallace’s children. However, the main plot difference is how the movie starts in the middle, summarizing everything from the first part of the book very briefly. Additionally, many scenes are switched around and placed out of order. Altogether, the plot and character changes contribute to my unfavorable impression of the
In both the novel and movie focus on the war. The war influences the characters to enroll. Also, the main setting is at the Devon School. However, in the novel Gene visits Leper at his house but in the movie Leper lives in the woods. In the novel Gene is coming back to the Devon School 15 years later. However, in the book he is coming to Devon as a new student. Therefore, similarities and differences exist in time and setting in the novel and the movie. In the novel and the movie there are similarities and differences in events, character, and time and setting.
Both authors from “La Vida Robot” by Joshua Davis and Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson share a similar perspective on what makes a strong and successful team. Davis’s perspective is working as a team with different strengths and weaknesses make the perfect and successful team and Isaacson’s perspective is working as a team with different strengths and weaknesses make the perfect and successful team.
Fort Morgan is a small town community with a small population. This means that it easy for community members to bond and know each other. One way that the people could bond is through books. More specifically, the One City One Book program. The One City One Book program is a way for the community to get together through discussions of a piece of literacy. The book that would be a good option to use is Enrique’s Journey because it is a nonfiction piece of work that has many lessons to teach people, and it is all through a story of a young boy’s journey. This program would benefit Fort Morgan with Enrique’s Journey because it enlightens the people of the community about the hardships other people have that are not in America, it is an educational
...d coloring of certain images. The novel, however, puts much greater emphasis on the imagination and creativity, and on the main character Tita. The novel really makes the reader feel Titas pain and grow with her as she discovers her freedom, whereas the movie failed to achieve this. Moreover, the movie tends to ignore the significant of 3 integral motifs, cooking, tears and sensuality.
In conclusion, details involving the characters and symbolic meanings to objects are the factors that make the novel better than the movie. Leaving out aspects of the novel limits the viewer’s appreciation for the story. One may favor the film over the novel or vice versa, but that person will not overlook the intense work that went into the making of both. The film and novel have their similarities and differences, but both effectively communicate their meaning to the public.
When you get to the beginning, middle, or end u realize they are both very different. The movie and book have a lot in common like they both have the same characters .
(134,219). The author and main character Rodriguez are one in the same person. At a young age Luis Rodriguez started writing about his life story which becomes a big feat for him because of not getting education in school, gang related problems, and being a leader in school for his fellow classmates. He clearly goes against a stereotype he faces which is Hispanics are illiterate by, writing a book despite getting without help in his circumstances and writing becoming very popular throughout the years. As a result of his hard work he put into his stories and poems, thanks to one of his teachers Mrs. Baez, the stories and poems were edited and sent to many literary contests.
In conclusion, there are notable differences and similarities between the book, and movie Frankenstein. The similarities dealing with the creation of the monster, and the turning point of the story. The differences and similarities preserve the genre themes, and the main points in both the story and the movie.
One thing that can make a book good is characters. In the book, there were many more animals in the farm. The movie did not show many animals except for the main animals. Even thought this is a small difference, it can be noticeable. In the book, Mollie was a character.
In the story, the family depends on a robot to be a teacher and caretaker for their child. When he malfunctions, they realize how dependent they are on him. Weinstein also brings attention to the white American middle and upper class. He includes issues ranging from white supremacy to racial profiling and xenophobia. Lastly, the author critiques society’s tendency to be judgmental without considering all of the circumstances.
Each element helps each other by making the next scene better than the one before. It has the storyline come to live, and having people thinking what can happen next or who has the power in the movie. By seeing this movie it can make someone feel complete and satisfied for a long time.
The film begins with a new teacher, Jaime Escalante, arriving to Garfield High School in East Los Angeles. On his first day he comes to find out that the computer science class he thought he was going to teach doesn't exist, because the school has no computers. In turn he is assigned to take over the general algebra class. From the beginning the film portrays the school as one on its downfall, and with students that are facing poverty. The class he receives is full of students who, according to other teachers at the school, are unintelligent and incapable of learning much of the material. Students cannot be expected to learn material when the teachers themselves do not believe in the stude...
The biggest connection between the movie and the books are the leading characters like Dr. Susan Calvin and Dr. Alfred Lanning. The “I, Robot” book is a complete history of robots told through Dr. Calvin’s eyes, and the movie is just a part of this huge history. Although the plot of the movie isn’t a part of the book, it surely speaks the words and ideas of Isaac Asimov. And I think that if he were alive, he would very much appreciate the movie and his acknowledgment and respect in the world of robotics.
The movie, The Giver, is better than the book because it contains more action than the book describes and it’s very exciting and intense. Everything about the movie was perfectly put together which made the movie a great one to watch. There is also a moral to the movie which I think is “Stand up for what you believe in.” I think this is a great moral and goes well with the movie because it shows that even if the whole world turns on you, as long as you believe in yourself, you can achieve almost anything. I also like the fact that it’s a futuristic kind of movie; it makes it unique. The movie not only makes you feel a certain way; but it also makes you think about how our world would be if we did not have the gift of choice-making. The Giver
