Up to seventy percent of kids who have parents who use drugs become users themselves. In 2007, there were an estimated 529,000 current users of drugs aged 12 and older. Teens are at the age where they become more interested in things and are feeling the need to try new things. Sixty-seven percent of teens who end up with HIV/AIDS or hepatitis C are results of them sharing syringes and needles from using heroin and meth. Children of abusers are 3 to 4 times at greater risk of being drug dependent which accounts for a significant amount of the increased hospitalization for poisoning and accidental trauma. The novel “High Price” by Dr. Carl Hart, discusses Dr. Harts personal story growing up around poverty, drugs, and turning his life around to better himself. The text states “The U.S. Justice Department’s Bureau of Justice Statistics examined the connections between drugs and crime in prisoners, analyzing data from 1997 to 2004. It found that only a third of state prisoners committed their crimes under the influence of drugs and only around the same proportion were addicted” (110). Drugs have proven time and time again to influence prisoners to do wrong, especially when they’ve become addicted to the drugs they’ve allowed their body to consume.

This sudden and disturbing calamity was since deemed a suicide, but was it really? This topic has become one of the most controversial subjects in the musical industry. After the traumatizing news that Cobain had ended his life transpired, it gained some serious speculation. Theory after theory arose, with the most popular being that Cobain had not passed to suicide, but homicide. After close examination, the evidence leads to one particular person.

Recent speculations have fans, reporters, and investigators questioning the death of musician Kurt Cobain that was a reported suicide case. Cobain’s body was found with shotgun wound to his head on April 8th by an electrician at the couples Washington lake house. The same day Cobain’s body was found, news was released that the singer had committed suicide. With lack of investigation Cobain’s body was cremated 6 days after his body was found. The Seattle P.D. withheld the shotgun for 30 days before it was processed for fingerprints; the shotgun was then given back to Courtney Love to be discarded.
