Come Wednesday night a legendary career will come to an end as Kobe Bryant plays his last game in the NBA. Since Early December the end when Kobe Bryant announced his retirement, many have been flocking to see Kobe play for one last time while other stars try to meet with him. Usually when players retire they’ll go off and do something else and we’ve heard a number of things that Kobe could do once he hangs his sneakers up. We know Kobe has his own business that he’ll likely focus on and some want him to join the NBA on TNT crew, but Bryant has no interest in the broadcasting route. Many of us would love to see Mamba coach but that’s something he doesn’t have any interest in doing either. When it’s all set and done what could we see Kobe do? Well here’s a wild card and it’s something …show more content…
that may catch his interest, Ownership. Could we see Kobe get into owning a professional franchise in the future? Now why would Kobe get into owning a team? Well Kobe is more of a business and owning a pro sports team is just that, A Business. It’s right up his ally and honestly he won’t have to do that much. Now I’m not suggesting going into full ownership right then and there at all. I’m thinking more of the Magic Johnson route; buy a minority peace of a team. It’ll expose him to the world of becoming an owner and another form of business in the sport he gave so much to. We know Jeannie would have no problem with arguably the greatest Laker of all time buying a piece of the Lakers and would likely convince him to do it too. Now if not the Lakers then where? Well what about the Los Angeles Sparks, Wait what? Hear me out here.
Magic Johnson’s group Guggenheim own the Sparks and we all know that Kobe has been seen at a few Sparks games in the past before. Magic Johnson is usually in his ear about a lot of things and I think talking Kobe into being a minority owner and business partner of the Los Angeles Sparks would be one. It would keep him in the game of basketball if Bryant decides to do so and there’s no better person than to do that with Magic himself. Would it be a perfect match? I wouldn’t go that far, but it would be a right fit for Kobe. Now if he wants to get away from the game and go a different route then investing into a Soccer team would also be up his ally. Kobe LOVES soccer and there’s a handful of athletes (LeBron being one of them) who own a share of soccer teams all over. I could see Kobe investing in Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, maybe Arsenal when it’s all set and done.
Kobe Bryant will have loads of options as soon as he’s finished with playing Basketball this Wednesday. Whether he stays in the game or not, Kobe Bryant will be a huge name that will draw no matter what. Just because he won’t be playing anymore doesn’t mean we’ve heard the last of Kobe
Bryant.
Lebron James is a well known professional basketball player for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Lebron is often referred to as one of the greatest to ever pick up a basketball. Lebron makes money from playing basketball but a substantial amount of his income comes from sponsorships and endorsement deals with outside brands. This is where his social media plays a huge part of his life.
When you look at yourself in the mirror, probably, you are wondering what is human nature, how does it affect us? We all say that men’s nature at birth is good. But the truth is we realize more and more darkness of humanity along with we grow up, and that changes us inattentively. Today, I would like to present human nature base on the transition of Charlie who is the main character in Craig Silvey’s ‘Jasper Jones’.
“Land of the free and the home of the brave.” This line has represented the United States for decades. These words were captured in The Star Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key and since 1913, the United States has adopted The Star-Spangled Banner as its national anthem. We have used the Red, White, and Blue as one of our nation’s symbols. It has fifty stars, to represent the number of states we have in our Union. The military pledges its allegiance to the flag and the country which it represents at all costs. We are the land of the free and the home of the brave, and we are proud to show it.
On the other hand, there are those who feel as if the effects of the lockout will be suppressed due to the strength of the league and its progression towards a new style of play. According to a recent article in the Los Angeles Times, proponents of the National Basketball Association rest their faith for the league on four basic fundamentals: popularity, being hip, demographics, and marketing savvy. Basketball has an advantage over all sports due to its ease of being played. All you need is a basketball and a hoop. As long as this holds true, proponents feel basketball will always remain popular. During the NBA's resurgence during the 1980's and '90's they, "tapped into the rhythm and mentality among younger sports fans that hadn't been touched yet.
The NBA is well known for the number of amazing professional athletes it has had over the years. Some of the most gifted and talented individuals come through the NBA and one of the better-known superstars is none other than Kobe Bryant. For years people have wondered what makes Bryant so successful. The main contributors that lead to Kobe Bryant’s success is his hard work and dedication, his mindset, his natural ability’s and talent, and the people that have helped him throughout his life. Kobe Bryant was very successful in the NBA because of the amount of hard work he has put in, the people in his life, his relentless determination and his god given natural abilities.

And more likely than not the next Jordan, and there will be one (just maybe not in basketball), will probably not want to put their entire career and reputation at risk even if it can benefit their entire race. People are motivated out of self-interest, and want to win. Rhoden really wants to believe that all black athletes are selfless and want the best for their community and race. But to expect this is really ludicrous. Kobe truly believes that the ends justifies the means. If he shoots the ball 3 for 21 on any given night but his third make happens to be a game winner, Kobe is a happy man. And if that means that he is hard to play with and teammates do not get along with him, then so be it. In Kobe 's words, “Friends come and go but banners hang
Donald Sterling is the owner of the NBA team, the Los Angeles Clippers. He first bought the team in 1981. When he bought the team they were located in San Diego. Then he moved the team to Los Angeles in 198. He moved the team without the consent of the NBA, which caused him to get fined 25 million dollars. So, his troubles with the league have occurred before in the past, so he is no stranger to getting in trouble by the league.
As the game is winding down I can’t help but wonder what it must be like for some of the NBA’s top tier talent to stop and play in front of the masses. This is the closest some of these people will ever get to a real NBA game. There’s no promise of making it to a game over at the Barlcays or MSG. This is it for them. What makes this venue so appealing? It’s the in-your-face style. They get to serenade and shower the players with “oohs and aahs.” High-fiving their lantsman after a stellar dunk or killer crossover. While Spike Lee is sitting court side and shelling out thousands to see ‘Melo and company, I’m getting to see basketball how it was intended to be played.
Additionally, Bryant joined the all-star team in just his second season in the league, therefore becoming the single youngest player to be part of the all-star team of all time (“Bryant, Kobe” 1) at just 19 years old (Kobe at 30--Oh, how the years go by 2). Surprisingly, these achievements would not be the only ones he would acquire. By 2003, Bryant had already captured 3 NBA titles for himself (“Bryant, Kobe” 1), winning three titles in a row from 2000 to 2002 (Kobe at 30-- 2), and these would surely not be his last.... ... middle of paper ... ...
“Iguodala to Curry, back to Iguodala, up for the layup! Oh! Blocked by James! LeBron James with the rejection!” These were the words spoken by ESPN’s Mike Breen during Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals, describing one of the best defensive plays in NBA history. Hello, I am Steven Lai, and we are here today to celebrate LeBron James. We celebrate him because he is one of the greatest basketball players on the court and off the court. As a huge LeBron fan, I can tell you all why we are here to celebrate him. To celebrate LeBron James, I will talk about his accomplishments in the NBA, his social activism, and his charitable acts.
...movie, videogames, college and amateur sports, and eating out. As the price of attending a basketball game continues to rise teams need to offer motivations to fans, for example family and season ticket packages, to make game attendance more interesting for entertainment seekers.
According to The Chicago Tribune “Close to 3,000 people have been shot in Chicago so far this year.”In 2016 chicago homicide rate was at an all time high, last year there have been reported 762 people died from gun violence,”3,550 shooting incidents, and 4,331 shooting victims.”Hundreds of people have died from gun violence every year and also a portion of the murder rate is made up of innocent people that have also died from a firearm violence. Also in the united states the number of fatalities from a firearm were “33,594” according to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention.I believe we should ban the use of firearms because the number of people that die or get injured from a firearm keeps dangerously increasing each year.
