My main academic goal is to obtain a bachelor’s degree in physics. I hope to take this forward and pursue a career in teaching physics at a high school level. Throughout my school career, I have stretched my education to the best of my abilities, achieving a GPA of over 3.9, as well as having participated in knowledge bowl for each of the six possible years in which a person can participate in it. My team, while not the same each year, has always managed to strive to perform to the best of its abilities and reach its way to regions. I feel that my knowledge bowl experience can show various traits, accomplishments, and goal-setting abilities about myself. For one thing, I feel that the time I have spent in knowledge bowl, with a different team each year, shows …show more content…
I feel that a physics field is a perfect fit for me, as it draws heavily from the realm of math, which is my strong suit, and it also draws on science, which always has so many interesting concepts that I cannot help but want to learn more about. As time goes on, the importance of my will to learn will only grow, and I feel that my experiences with knowledge bowl will have a heavy impact on my college future. I feel that I will be able to strive through my education pathway as much as possible, and that I will become the best student that I can possibly be. No matter what may happen in the future, I will persevere through my education pathway, and I will continue to achieve every goal that I set for myself. In the end, the only thing that can get in the way of my college education is me, and I can vouch for myself that I can persevere through any aspect of college and of the future as a whole that may try to prevent me from achieving my goals. Throughout my entire future, I will make sure to strive and push forward with everything I do as much as I possibly

I was recently accepted into the Exploratory Studies college at NC State, and am beyond excited to hopefully continue my academic career at NC State University. Although I am currently undecided on my major, I've shown the most interest in math and science related subjects, and hope to pursue similar avenues of study at State through the Exploratory Studies program. I am interested in exploring different career paths that I may have not yet considered, and believe that this program will provide me with the resources necessary to truly discover what I want to do for the rest of my life. Although I currently do not have any specific career objectives, I am confident that I will leave NC State prepared to build a successful career, regardless of my eventual major. I am excited at how much NC State and the Exploratory Studies college has to offer, and hope to eventually graduate with the experience and knowledge to begin a professional career.
I plan to deal with defeats and partial successes by continuing to strive for achieving the best outcomes no matter the shortcomings of achievements along the way.

We all have aspirations in life that we want to achieve and although everyone’s goals in life may be different we all want to end up with the same thing, a life we are proud of. For me, a life I would be proud of consists of many factors such as having a family, a job I love, and being able to achieve all my dreams and not have any regrets. Henry David Thoreau once said,“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours”. Finding a major that I will end up loving for the rest of my life is one of my many dreams and because of all my research I am one step closer to achieving it.

I am currently at Jackson State University majoring in physics and minoring in mathematics, which helps to compliment my overall performance in physics. Because of my department’s small size, I have had the pleasure of developing solid relationships with the chair, program manager, and many professors within the department. These pivotal relationships have driven me to heights that, prior to starting at JSU in August of 2016, I could have never imagined for myself. First off, I never imagined that I would attain junior status after just three
