Knowledge
Knowledge can be interpreted in many different ways. Some may see knowledge as learned education. Others may see education as intelligence. None of these perspectives of knowledge are right or wrong. Every person is entitled to their own definition, source, and use of knowledge in their lives. I view knowledge as the wisdom and insight that one may acquire over time, by personal experiences and influences in life.
Most of the basic knowledge acquired by people starting at a young age is in school. As young children, we learn elementary facts such as our numbers and the alphabet. The older we become, the more facts we are taught, and the more complex these facts become. The knowledge one may learn in school is what I think of as worldly knowledge that will get people into the colleges and jobs that they may desire. The people that are abundant in educational knowledge are the people who dominate our economy and run our country. Certainly, this is one of the more important types of knowledge there are and definitely one that we could not do without, but it is not quite as important as some of the others. Education is vital in life, but mere facts cannot aid in the solution to all problems.
Another source of knowledge is entertainment, such as in television, movies, books, or even music. Certain types of entertainment can even be education. For example, television shows such as “20/20” or “DateLine” are both very informative shows, but interesting e...
The first Punic War started with an offer by the locals in Messana for the Romans to benefit them in defeating the Carthaginians. Rome saw this as a good fighting chance to let off of the stretch of the Carthaginian Empire and to stop the possible attack on Italy. The Carthaginians were told that they must break off their invasion or war would be fulfilled. Carthage didn't listen so they left no choice but for Rome to declared war.
The First, Second, and Third Punic Wars between Rome and Carthage were caused by several different conflicts, were fought with many different methods and for several different reasons. They resulted in both positive and detrimental effects for Rome. The First Punic War was caused by Rome’s interference in a dispute on Sicily which was controlled by Sicily. Rome eventually conquered Sicily and its neighbor, Corsica. The war allowed Rome to rise into an empire with world power that was able to be noticed. The Second Punic war was brought about by a blood oath that hannibal took against Rome after the First Punic War. When Hasdrubal, Hannibal’s brother died, Hannibal took the opportunity to invade Rome. He captured Rome but soon
The Punic wars between Rome and Carthage were as inevitable as the winter. An analogy for these wars could be an ancient cold war where the two superpowers of the Mediterranean namely Rome and Carthage fought for supremacy in an area that was not large enough for them both. Carthage had become Rome's natural enemy by 300 BC. As Rome expanded taking Italy Rome came into contact with the naval city of Carthage and it's empire. The Carthaginians were a people renowned for their seafaring ability and ruthlessness. Having established colonies across the Mediterranean many became famous merchants. To support their growing empire Carthage had to employ mercenary soldiers and conscription to keep their territories well defended. The officers of the armies were all Carthaginian nobles.

Coffee has always been a staple part of the American breakfast, and work life. With its promise of a much needed midday energy boost, or morning pick me up, millions of Americans often turn to coffee to start the day. According to a recent Gallup poll nearly 64% of Americans adults ages 18 and up report drinking at least one cup of coffee a day, with the average coffee drinker drinking 2.7 cups a day (Saad, 2015). While some Americans choose to drink coffee blends, most Americans prefer to consume pure source coffee, or coffee that a specific type from a specific country. While coffees from Central America and Africa are popular, one of the richest and most pure forms of coffee is considered to be Arabica coffee from the Ugandan mountains. In the U.S. the most popular Ugandan Arabica coffee is Café Vianté’s Uganda Expresso, grown in the slopes of Mount Elgon. Grown and processed in Uganda, Arabica coffee

We first preformed the hearing test, which was much harder then it appeared to be. Trying to get a 4 year old to cooperate was very difficult. We told her to let us know when she heard the beeping noise and to point to the ear she hear it. The little girl kept smiling at her mother every time she heard the noise, but she would not say anything. My preceptor asked her if she heard anything and the little girl told us she did. Later, my nurse informed me at that age, it is very hard for them to follow the demands of pointing at their ear. My preceptor told me to look for nonverbal cues when dealing with a client of this age. This is something I will remember and utilize in my future nursing career. We then moved on to screening the patient’s vision. My nurse had previously given the mother instructions to go over the shapes with her daughter, so she would be familiar with them when it came time to screen her vision. The little girl was having a hard time staying focused on the shapes, therefore we asked mom if she would help her stand still and to cover one of her eyes. The little girl did very well with knowing which shape we were pointing to. The dental part in the screening was very quick, because the patient had just come from the dentist. Her mother told us she had 20 teeth at this time and no cavities. The hardest part about this screening was obtaining the
Coffee is an incredible trade commodity and fuels many countries called coffee countries. (Francis) It is so valuable that around the world coffee is only sold less than Arabian oil. (Avey) The International Coffee Organization or ICO regulates coffee prices for inclines and declines and the world supply. It has operated since 1963 when it started. It also controls imports and exports. It was the united nations that created the ICO. Some “coffee countries” economies are half coffee exports. Before the ICO was created coffee producers set the prices. When the farmers tried to sell at one price the producer could change it in any way he wants because no one else would buy their beans. Coffee shops sold their coffee at much lower prices. some of the coffee countries started to lose money. These countries economies were crashing. The prices of coffee in 2001 were one third of the 1960’s prices. (Francis) New yorkers are rumored to drink seven times more coffee than every other city. Famed French writer Voltaire drank forty to fifty small French cups a day. Teddy Roosevelt drank one gallon a day. He was also rumored to have made up the “Good To The Last Drop” slogan. Without coffee financially the world would be very different.
Education is essential for everyone. Education plays a critical role in the development of a generation of individuals that is virtuous and in turn contributes to the development of good people. Through education, a person is able to develop mentally, but also physically and socially. To the youths, education is important as it helps them to develop the principles of life, enables them to make the correct career decisions and also prepares them in the pursuit of the goals that they may have set for themselves in life. I strongly believe that a good, heck, or even a regular education is a right that cannot be taken away. Education is a right and not a privilege.
Education is a very important aspect of the lives of all people all over the world. What we learn, not just in the classroom, shapes who we are. We take our education everywhere we go. We use it when talking to our buddies about sports or music, we use it while solving a math problem, we use our education while debating with our family whether or not we should watch TV or go to the movies. Our education is the foundation of who we are, since every decision we make and every thought we think is dependent on what we know. Imagine how different the world would be if everyone craved learning to such a degree that at lunch tables all over the world the topic of conversation isn't who likes who, or how drunk someone got over the weekend, but it would be what books were read over the weekend, and what new ideas were thought of. This crave for learning would be an ideal but still suggests need for improvement with the current educational system. It seems that the problem with education is that somewhere along the lines the human race forgot (assuming they, at one point, understood how valuable information is) that learning is not just a mandatory process, but also an opportunity to transcend and open the gateway to a better understanding.
Education is as important as the air we breathe. It is the most important possession a person must have. Education is beneficial in many aspect of life especially, personal and social it is the only possession that cannot be taken away from you. Education is important because it will open up the windows of opportunities. In this competitive world having a good education is as important as the air we breathe because it is our weapon to conquer the world.
What can we say about knowledge? Well first of all we have to try to identify what knowledge is or what type of knowledge there is. I believe we can identify it in three ways propositional knowledge, procedural knowledge or know-how, and personal knowledge. Propositional knowledge is the knowing of facts and truths about something or learned knowledge. For example, I can know that two plus two is four, I cannot know that two plus two is five because that is not known it doesn’t exist. Also, take an example of building an engine one must be taught or have learned to build the engine to have knowledge in building it.
Education plays a vital role in shaping tomorrows’ leaders. Not only can we become a better nation by acquiring the skills necessary to be productive members of a civilized society. Increase knowledge to actively achieve and meet challenges that can produce changes in which are productive for attaining business innovations, political and economic objectives.
When I think about knowledge the first thing that comes to my mind is education. I believe that knowledge comes to people by their experiences in life. In other words, life is an instrument that leads me to gain knowledge. Many people consider that old people are wise because they have learned from good and bad experiences throughout their lives. Education requires work, dedication and faith to gain knowledge. We acquired knowledge through the guidance of from parents, role models, college/University teachers and life experiences.
