Kitty Konstantine is used to being called names. Cut throat. Demon. Bitch. But the title that always trips her up is "daughter." No matter what she achieved, her father was always ready to cut her down. Even now that she's signed The Four Saints, it's still not good enough. Now, if she can't get them signed under a tighter contract, she'll lose everything. Bart Saint was pure swagger. He had that level of arrogance that couldn't be earned, so only the very few could pull it off. Tall? Sure. Handsome? Oh yeah. But it was something else that made heads turn when he walked into a room. He knew exactly who he was, and that made him invincible. He was manager to his nephews, and he'd be damned if he let Kitty Konstantine put the squeeze to them.
The documentary, “Dear Kitty” revolves around Miep Gies, and her recollection of helping Anne Frank and her family go into hiding. Miep, was a dutch citizen who was hired by Anne’s father, Otto Frank. In the summer of 1942, Mr. Frank had initially hired Miep to be the secretary of the business he managed, but with the Nazis ceasing all the Jews from Holland, he would soon need her help with hiding his family. Miep, along with the other four staff members, agreed to help. The Frank family hid in an attic above the business where both Miep and Mr Frank worked at. Miep and the rest of the workers acted normal during regular work hours so they would not look suspicious. Unfortunately, Anne and her family, besides her father, were found and taken
Usually, a short story may contain profound thoughts. Writers always convey their ideas or opinions by offering several arguments in their productions. These arguments are essential to advancing the story and defining characters. In "Aunt Mary" written by Joseph Imperiale, we might identify three arguments here.
Edgar Allan Poe was born January 19, 1809. Many consider him to be the master of mystery and horror. He only lived until he was forty, and during that time he endured a lot of hardships. For one, every woman he ever cared for ended up dead, usually by the dreaded tuberculosis. That included his wife Virginia. The men in his life who were supposed to be there to guide him, well, they were not there. I think that helped him write a lot of his dark and macabre stories. His most famous work is The Raven, a narrative poem that was first published in January 1845. He also wrote other highly regarded short stories such as, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, The Tell- Tale Heart, and The Black Cat. I will be doing my review on the latter of the three.
The last time Paulette was seen alive was on the 21st of March, on a Sunday night. The girl, alongside her father and 7 year old sister, had just returned from a weekend trip to Valle de Bravo (located in the state of Mexico, approx. 3 hours away from the capital), arriving at their apartment in Huixquilucan, state of Mexico around 9pm. Her mother, Lizette Farah, had not gone with them, going instead on a trip to Los Cabos with her friend Amanda and returning home on the same day as her family. Lizette vividly remembered putting her daughter to sleep that night, kissing her one last time before leaving the room. The next morning, Paulette’s nanny would alert the girl’s parents of her disappearance: **"I looked for her in the bathroom, under
"Oh, Max." said Mama Mouse. "This just means Santa must have come." Max looked confused. "If Mr. Santa was supposed to spread holiday cheer, why would he eat all the cookies?" Papa Mouse chuckled. "Max, don't you know? The more cookies you bring Santa the more present he brings."

As I look back on my past, I am pleased with my life, my accomplishments and my failures. I can say there may have been some rough times but I wouldn’t do anything over. I am now sixty-nine years old and feel it is time to reminisce. I was born on September 7th, 1533 at Greenwich Palace. Of course I do not remember this but whom does it hurt to start from the very beginning. When I was barely three my mother was executed, I may have not a vivid memory or memory at all but later on in my life, it affected me. I wonder what it would’ve been like to have a real mother instead of a lot of stepmothers. Katherine Champernowne taught my first education. I was taught many subjects and several languages that are very useful and helped me talk with foreign ambassadors. I had a close bond with Katherine she was like a mother to me. Later on my new stepmother Katherine Parr, hired me a private tutor named William Grindal. When he died of the plague Roger Ascham became my tutor. Not only did I excel in school but I played instruments, was a hunter, and an equestrian. I secretly aided the Dutch when they rebelled against Spanish tyranny. This caused Philip II to retaliate by helping Catholic conspire against Elizabeth. This undeclared war went on for years, until an English army came into the Netherlands of 1585. Katherine Parr became the Dowager Queen when henry died and I went to live with her, but left after rumors that suggested that Thomas Seymour (Katherine’s husband at the time) was cheating with me.
daughter-mother relationships, with the mature adversary acting as a wicked maternal substitute, simultaneously erasing the mother and replacing her with a negative image' (Do Rozario, 2004, p.41). This could suggest that once the evil femme fatale has been stripped of her powers, her importance is reduced and a prince has substituted her in the princesses’ life. This results in the princess still being passive but now under the control of a prince rather than the powerful evil stepmother.
The heart in my chest is racing faster than formula one cars. I still cannot believe I’m at basketball practice today with an injured ankle running drills as if I’m running for my life. I feel very weak in the knees and hunched over trying to catch my breath without causing too much trouble. Working through the pain because I refuse to deal with my crippling inadequacy issues, I glance over to see one our managers looking at my teammates and me as she is cheering us on. Although with me it was more than a glance. With our eyes, locked, I could see the sympathy in her eyes mixed with low levels of passion.
for dark, mysterious, and bizarre works of fiction. His works sometimes reflected his life experiences and hardships he tried to overcome. Examples of the troubles in his life include alcoholism, having his works rejected over and over, being broke, and losing his family, even his beloved wife to tuberculosis. There is no wonder why his works are so dark and evil, they were taken from his life. A theme is defined as the major or central idea of a work. Poe’s short story, “The Black Cat”, contains six major themes that are discussed in this paper. They include the home, violence, drugs and alcohol, freedom and confinement, justice and judgement, and transformation.

I volunteer at Bay Area Humane Society or (B.A.H.S.) with my mother and my sister. My family has adopted two cats from B.A.H.S.(including cami). Hemi and Cami are a bonded pair. They play all the time like goof balls. They are four years apart, but they act like they’re kittens even though that Hemi is six and Cami is two and they are best friends.
It was a dull misty day, just like how Michael's family felt, in the hospital room where Michael lays as stiff as a rock with no impulse in motion. A nurse comes in and informs the family that Michael is no longer in their present and notifies them that she is to remove the body. The nurse carefully places the body into the morgue and closes the door where the deceased fades into complete darkness. Suddenly, Michael is mumbling in his sleep, but this mumble consisted of strange popping noise like he was under water. He awakens to a blurry sight, but as it clears he awakens to the viewing of blue coral in the ocean.
It was Friday and the toaster was broken. Well, not broken per se, it was toasting just fine. Stopping the toasting was what was presenting a bit of difficulty.
In the Johnson age there are many popular writers. One of these authors is Samuel Richardson, who was a novelist. His most popular novels were Pamela and Clarissa, which are both constructed of a series of letters. Clarissa, however, was regarded as one of his most popular European novels. "His masterpiece, Clarissa, or the History of a Young Lady, one of the greatest European novels, was published in 1747-8" (Richardson, 1).
