Once upon a time, on a warm summer day in Doggieville there was a dog by the name of Titus. His sibling would always pick on him because he was the runt. One day while they were in Doggieville, they saw a crowd around the castle. When they came closer, they saw King Zeus. “Any dog want to be king? ” he began, “There will be a hunt for the “Golden Bone”, the prize will be my throne.” When the family got back home Titus told them that he was going to enter the hunt for the golden bone and become king. The day of the sign-ups Titus went and entered. The dogs behind him just stared and laughed at him. Hearing them, Titus became even more determined. When the sign-ups were over, King Zeus looked at the sheet and said, “When I call your name, please …show more content…
raise your paw,” as he read the list of names the crowd went wild. When he came to the last name he paused for a minute then read Titus Pennington. After he read, the name the crowd went all quiet and just stared at him as he raised his paw. “The hunt begins tomorrow morning at ten sharp,” King Zeus said. Titus and his family went home. When they got home Mama said “What were you thinking?” “I wanted to show that I may be small, but I’m tough,” said Titus.
“You don’t have a chance against us you little runt,” said his siblings. The next day they all gathered at the castle waiting for King Zeus to announce that the hunt was on. When the contestants heard that it is on, they raced out of the castle all in different directions. An hour after the hunt began Buttercup and Max were disqualified for cheating. Four hours later five more contestants were also disqualified. All that was left was Titus, Rosie, Dixie, and Buddy. A couple of hours later two more were disqualified. It was just Titus against his sister, Rosie. Rosie was determined to find the bone before Titus did. It took awhile, but he found it. When he did, the town was shocked. When King Zeus saw that the bone had been found, he called Rosie Pennington back to the castle. In front of the town, King Zeus stepped down and crowned Titus Pennington as the new king of Doggieville. He said, “All hail King Titus.” When his family saw that he had done it, they asked how. All Titus said was, “I took my time and it paid off.” “We are so sorry that we ever picked on you King,” said the town. King Titus said, “I forgive you, but if you ever pick on anyone again, you must learn their full potential or I will punish
you.” The town said, “We will never pick on anyone again.” So in the end King Titus Pennington had more friends than before when he was a tiny dog and the runt of the litter.
The Dog Heads accept the settlement, which includes the returning of the hostages. Madame is reunited with Lin and Yü, her only surviving children. The Chinese General Feng Jung arrives to discuss terms of a treaty; meanwhile his son, Feng Pao and redbird become acquainted. They discover they have much in common, including a love for books. "The sunlight is shining off the water below like scales, and the rive looks like a great dragon dancing for joy around our village… So full of Kingfishers. They're circling around. Its almost like part of the sky broke and pieces are swirling around us. I feel all warm inside. And safe. And happy. I can almost feel Father with us, grinning again."
As Zeus saw this he was enraged at what Poseidon was doing. So Zeus said “ that if he will not come up to olemps, he will fight him for the city.”
There is no doubt in mythology that the king of gods, Zeus, is the most supreme and powerful, ruling the sky. He controls the thunderbolt, a symbol of power feared by both gods and mortals. The Greeks and Romans honored Zeus above all other gods. He is without mistake, the god of all gods. Their stories of Zeus are plenty; his designs have molded mythology from his birth. Zeus' victory in outwitting his intelligent wife, Metis, by swallowing her pregnant, was the gateway used by the Greeks and Romans to show Zeus as the greatest god to come since his father and grandfather. However, as the stories of the gods and goddesses unfold, the Greeks and Roman's interpretation of Zeus' characteristics are different. Zeus is always upheld as the king of gods, but his other personal attributes to his godly rein are conflicting. Zeus' characteristics of fearfulness of female deities, cunningness and use of trickery, and lust in Ovid's Metamorphoses compared to the Theogony are opposed due to Hesiod's true respect of Zeus versus Ovid's lack of respect of Jupiter in Roman mythology.
The main themes in this book are war, power, heroism, love, loyalty and growth. We are given further insight into the classical Greek society as Alexas reminisces about his family life, his training as an athlete, the Olympic Games, his homosexual relationship with his mentor Lysis, and his encounters with Socrates the Philosopher. The main characters seem dogged by guilt, loneliness or failure, often the failure to love. The book ends on a triumphant note, with the Athenians defeating the Spartans, and liberating their city from the corrupt politicians.

According to Aristotle, a tragedy must be an imitation of life in the form of a serious story that is complete in itself among many other things. Oedipus is often portrayed as the perfect example of what a tragedy should be in terms of Aristotle’s Poetics. Reason being that Oedipus seems to include correctly all of the concepts that Aristotle describes as inherent to dramatic tragedy. These elements include: the importance of plot, reversal and recognition, unity of time, the cathartic purging and evocation of pity and fear, the presence of a fatal flaw in the “hero”, and the use of law of probability.
