Basketball is a sport that can be played many ways. The National Basketball Association probably plays it the most popular way, 5 on 5. 5 players from one team against 5 from another team. However, over the year’s players have become more individualized and arguments about who is the best player of all time have risen. The NBA is highly recognized as the best basketball league in the world. The National Basketball Association was founded on June 6, 1946 according to Justin Wehr in 2014 “there have been 3,071 NBA players” and some stand out above the rest. Lebron James also known as King James stands out from all the others, he is the greatest basketball player of all time. The reason James is the best is his stats, ability to turn a franchise into a championship contender, and how he keeps up with the level of play in the NBA which is constantly evolving. Lebron has had an incredible 14 seasons in the NBA, garnering 3 Finals championships. Although there have been players with more championships most players with the same amount or more are not or were not the best player on their team. Therefore, they are not included in the conversation of best basketball player ever. King James is the best player on his …show more content…
The league has since grown to include 30 individual franchises. With more teams comes more players, and players must remain healthy and prepared throughout an 82-game season by working out and conditioning. Players have consistently become better over time because of their athletic ability, coaches, and practice. Therefore, Lebron has proven to be the best basketball player of all time. He has stood the test of time where others that entered the league around the same time as he did either have retired or should retire; due to not being the player they once were. James has done the opposite, finding a way to excel his game year by year; with reliable play on the offense and
It was not until the year 2002 that the NBA was able to find someone to match Jordan’s dazzling acrobatic style of play. His name is Lebron James. Lebron, who plays shooting guard and small forward, stands at an athletic six-eight. James, however, never played in the NCAA. He was drafted straight out of high school in the 2003-04 season, by the Cleveland Cavaliers. James is already on the road to success by achieving co-rookie of the year, and he appeared in the Olympics. James is expected to be a champion, but he may not have what it takes to become a real champion such as Michael Jordan was. Before Jordan or James can be categorized as a champion, they have to be able to handle pressure, fame, and maintain a positive relationship with their team. When comparing Jordan and James’ clutch capabilities, or their ab...
James explains that he feels like a son to the city of Cleveland. He says, “people there have seen me grow up.” The community watched him develop physically, mentally, and as a player. James grew matured from an eighteen-year-old kid to a twenty-five-year-old man. With age comes responsibility, and he is well aware of the situation, as well as the responsibility to lead the team. He engages the audience by using nicknames, such as “D-Wade,” “CB,” and “Riles,” to name a few. James refers to the team as his brothers, another indication of how influential family has been on his career and his life altogether. His emotions and values express that family is what makes him

At every level of basketball there are players that have shined on and off the court, this is true for two exceptional players like Michael Jordan and LeBron James. The debate over these two marvelous athletes and who is the better of the two, has divided sports fans since LeBron earned his first Finals Championship.
Imagine scoring a total of 32, 292 points during a professional basketball career. Not many people in the history of the National Basketball Association can say they have. Michael Jordan can say he has and that he has accomplished many other goals throughout his life (“Michael Jordan Stats”).
Since its creation in 1893, the sport of basketball has been one of the most popular sports in the United States. One wouldn’t have to search long to find a basketball court and a pickup game in most American cities. Many people around the world look up to the stars of the National Basketball Association as role models. Despite the vast popularity of basketball, there is only one major league in America: The National Basketball Association, to be referred to in this work as the NBA.
It’s one of the greatest debates right now in modern time sports. Who is the greatest basketball player ever? Is it His Airness, or is it King James? The debate on whether Michael Jordan or LeBron James is the greatest basketball player ever is a prevalent topic in sports news daily. Many people believe that LeBron James is the greatest basketball player to be currently playing and also the greatest player to ever have played in the NBA. My theory, however, is that rather than LeBron James, the greatest basketball player to ever have played the game is Michael Jordan. Although I agree with the claim that LeBron James is the best current player in the NBA, I believe that he is nowhere near being considered better than Michael Jordan.
When I began my report I didn’t know much about Michael Jordan, but I did know that he was “undoubtedly the greatest player in the history of the NBA'; (“Michael Air Jordan'; 1). It seemed like every time I heard the word basketball I also heard the name Michael Jordan. There’s just no avoiding him. If you are watching television you might see him playing basketball or golf. If you were reading a magazine there will probably be an advertisement with his picture. If you were walking down the street you might see a kid wearing Air Jordan shoes or a Bulls jersey with “JORDAN'; on the back of it. This man is probably as recognizable as the Pope.
There's no question that Michael Jordan is the greatest player to ever play the game. He has single-handedly redefined basketball. No player in NBA history has achieved so much in any amount of time. He is a five-time league MVP, a ten-time scoring champion, a six-time Finals MVP, and houses six NBA championships. This time Michael Jordan left the game of basketball on his own terms. His comeback was to scratch an itch, and to teach the younger players how the game is played. He finished his career with 32,292 points, and a career average 30.12 ppg, the best in NBA history. Jordan has now officially passed the torch to the younger stars.
Due to the mark Michael Jordan has left on the world as the “G.O.A.T.”, it will be very difficult for any player to surpass his legacy. Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and LeBron James all have similarities of Michael Jordan but, out of all three players James is the closest. LeBron has the most similarities and the potential to surpass Michael Jordan’s legacy with his personality, stats and he popularity on and off the court. Even though James has the potential to surpass his legacy, there is still a very long journey ahead of James if he ever wants to be considered the “G.O.A.T.”.
First, we will celebrate LeBron James’s accomplishments in the NBA. There are over 400 players in the NBA. These players are on the battlefield, fighting day after day because they all know only one can become the Most Valuable Player. LeBron James rose above all, claiming the MVP award, not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 times. Not only is LeBron James an MVP, but he is also a 13-time All-Star player. LeBron James garnered enough votes from the fans, the players, and the media to become an All-Star like a presidential candidate getting enough votes from the voters to become the President.
Since neither of the players was active during the same era and never went head-to-head during their primes, we cannot conclusively decide who is best. Clearly, as evident from the huge list of awards both players have complied, both Michael Jordan and LeBron James have forever changed the game of basketball. Granted, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. I believe that both Jordan and James are two of the greatest basketball superstars to have ever lived.
LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, some of the most talented athletes to walk the earth. These men don’t play soccer or baseball, they play basketball. Basketball, some call it the sport of legends others say the game of kings, still others say it’s boring, but really no one likes those people, and no one ever will. This is the origin of the game of basketball.
He played his entire 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He entered the NBA directly from high school and won five NBA championships with the Lakers. Bryant is an 18-time All-Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA Team , and 12-time member of the All-Defensive team. He led the NBA in scoring during two seasons, and ranks third on both the league's all-team regular season scoring and all-team postseason scoring lists.
