King James

King James I was a devoted Christian who wanted the all common people to have their hands on the holy bible. Since King James was multi-lingual in, Greek, Latin, French, Italian, Spanish and English. He became the king of Scotland in 1556 at only thirteen months old and in 1603 acceded to the throne of England. At that point he combined Scotland and England the first to call it Great Britain. It is said that he also endured racism since he was Scottish but ruling over England but as a child he received his knowledge and education from Scottish tutors which he loved do much.
The King had a devasting childhood since he was the only child and his mother, Mary Queen of the Scots, was placed in prison in 1567 for 19 years then executed in 1587 and also in 1567 his father was murdered. It is said that in 156 Mary had to give up her throne because she was defeated by rebels. This was after James’ father, Lord Henry Barnley was killed in an unexplained explosion at his house.
Many claimed the King James was a bitter enemy of the Catholic religion. He always tried to extend his protestant religion to the entire island. It is also said that the Roman clerics tried to kill him more then once since was born at the time of the reformation. Because of the changing conditions, another official revision of the Protestant Bible in English was needed. The reign of Queen Elizabeth imposed the uniformity upon the church. In a conference of churchmen it was requested that the Bible be revised because existing translation were corrupt and not answerable to the truth.
