King Arthur Vs Perseus The King Essay

King Arthur is one of the most thought of king and is very well known. He was one of the greatest leader’s that britain has ever had. He is thought to be the most heroic british king ever.

In both stories of King Arthur and other myths that we have looked at, they all have a special weapons. In Perseus story the weapons that the gods gave to him and which he got a lot of weapons were a helmet that hades gave to him so that when he wore it he would become invisible, he also got a magic bag to put a terrible head in. He got winged sandals to fly him to a rock which Medusa was on, then he also got a glittering shield to look at Medusa with and the last weapon he got was a sharp sword to take down Medusa with.

The deaths

In the another myth

that we looked at was Odysseus and the weapon that he had was the bow and arrow that no one but him was able to string it. Also another myth we looked at was theseus and the weapon that he had was a double ended sword. He could use it as a sword and a spear at the same time.

The death of king arthur is very different compared to the other myths we have looked at.

In the other myths the gods mostly lived happily ever after the quest that they set out on and when they came back to their home land some of the gods became the king of that land. In the Theseus legend, the way that Theseus was killed was that he got thrown off a cliff and how he went to the edge of a cliff. It all started off with Theseus returning to his kingdom and by the time he made it back the throne was over through by Menetheus. So then Theseus went to get some people for a rebellion but Menetheus turned them all against him and went to the island of Scyros and the king Lycomedes was worried that that Theseus would try to take over Scyros. Then Lycomedes lured Theseus to the edge of a cliff and then pushed Theseus over the edge of the cliff and then he fell all the way to his death. In king arthur his death is very different, he does get wounded during the final battle in Camlan near dover. Instead of waiting for the Arthur to pass away as he was dying, they prepared a ship and on the ship they had bearing weeping ladies dressed in mourning. Before they sent the ship off into the lake they placed Arthur who was dying on a bier and then the ship sent sail and the ship slowly disappeared in the cloud of mist on the lake isle of

Avalon.

The round table was held together by trust and loyalty until it was shattered
Which caused Launcelot flee to france and then Arthur followed with an army
Modred which is Arthur’s nephew
When Launcelot and Arthur went to France it made an opportunity for Modred
When Arthur made it to France and then Modred announced that Arthur had been killed in a battle
When Modred announed that Arthur was dead he claimed King Arthur’s throne
Also Modred claimed guinevere's hand
Then guinevere fled to london with her supports
When she made it to London she sent Arthur a letter that said that his kingdom was in danger because of Modred
Then Arthur returned for a final battle, the battle raged for several days
Arthur was calling a truce so that launcelot would be able to gain time for his force could arrive
Arthur killed Modred but before arthur killed him Modred gave Arthur a mortal wound
With Arthur’s mortal wound that’s how king Arthur was brought to his death
