I will complete all my courses and obtain my first bachelor degree in kinesiology in August. I am so excited because I spent six years on earning this degree. I realized most of my classmates are applying to different graduate schools right now, but I decide to take one year off and engage in different activities. My original plan was apply to the accelerated nursing program after I finished my first bachelor, but I changed my mind because kinesiology was an amazing major and it opened my eyes. I used to believe I could only be a good nurse; however, I gain confidence when I took exercise physiology and motor control classes and believed I have the potential to become a good surgeon. I was hired as a teacher assistant and a lab research assistant
for the fall 2015 exercise physiology class, and I am planning to apply for the Pathmaker Internship program of the Palomar health. I believe these experiences will help me gain more understanding about the medical fields in America. After one year, I would like to apply to the accelerated nursing program in the CSUSM, and gain nursing as my second bachelor degree. After working as a nurse for a few years, I will apply to physician assistant schools and become a physician assistant. Eventually, I will apply to medical schools and become a surgeon. I do not have any school I prefer because all of them are hard to get in; therefore, I am happy to attend any school, which accepts me. I understand it will take twenty years to complete this journey, but I am confident that I could make it. In Asian, women do not allow to become a surgeon due to their gender. I feel very lucky because I am in America right now, and women and men have equal chances to become surgeons.
When I entered college at LSU, in the fall of 2009, I was undecided in my major. I did this purposefully because I wanted to give myself the opportunity to have one full year to try out a variety of classes and truly allow myself to find my passion. It was during my second semester at LSU that I took KIN 2500, a human anatomy course, and felt the feeling I had been hoping I would fe...
In 1973, Dr. Kenso Kase created Kinesiology Tape (KT-Tape) in order to reduce physiology effects such as pain, joint misalignment, and to further support the range of motion in muscles (Kase et al., 1998). Since then the fields of physical and alternative therapy have been using it to complement their patient’s exercise programs. This form of treatment has been found promising for sport injuries and musculoskeletal disorders, but also as treatment for side effects of cancer (Smykla, 2013).
The purpose of this paper is to gather all the strategies needed to be the best I can be in the future, as a professional. I will express all of my personal goals that I will strive to achieve during college. This paper will serve as a road map to my career path, and will help me better understand the job market. Currently my major is in the college of Kinesiology. The reason I have chosen kinesiology is because I am fascinated with the human body, and learning how to take care of it while it is in motion. This assignment calls for me to explore my options in this degree field by taking a career and personality assessment. Then, I will decide on a career, and major choice that interests me most. At this moment I will put forth all of my effort to obtain a degree from Sam Houston State University, and move onto becoming what employers are looking for. The research for this assignment will be coming from the Newton Gresham Library, Writing Center, Career Services, Internet, and O’Net
My field of interest once I graduate from WCU is physical therapy. This care specialty uses biomechanics, manual and exercise therapy, electrotherapy, and various other therapy techniques to remediate injuries and impairments, as well as promote mobility. There are several types of physical therapy, including orthopedic, pediatric, geriatric, neurological, pulmonary, and cardiovascular. The field of physical therapy was established in Britain during the late 19th century. Then, in 1921, Mary McMillan established the American Women’s Physical Therapeutic Association, which later became the American Physical Therapist Association.
but I have a pretty good idea as to what type of job it will be. I would like to go into the field of a physical therapist and sports medicine, I fell I will enjoy this more than any other type of career just because I already have a lot of interest in it. Sports medicine involves athletes who are constantly training to be in the best physical shape they can be in. It involves athletes with rehabilitation and supplements that they can take to help either recover faster or to help them perform better on their playing field. A lot of high caliber athletes such as olympians are involved in sports medicine, because it is able to get you back into your sport, faster and with less likelihood of re-injury.
The Squat is a natural movement humans have done since they existed. If you pay attention you’ll notice people all over the world Squat, often unconsciously. Quick examples… Babies routinely play while sitting in a Squat position, and will Squat to stand up. Asian people often
From a young age I was interested in the medical field. As I became more exposed to the various options, I decided physical therapy was the right career for me. My experience has proved the field to be interesting and fun. I enjoy working with people and the versatility of therapy. There are many areas to specialize in and I look forward to learning which one is right for me. At the moment I am interested in pediatric acute care but I am also interested in sports and orthopedics. As I continue my studies, I look forward to learning about the different fields in which physical therapy will take me. My future views may change which physical therapy field I wish to pursue, but right now I look forward to learning as much as I can about physical therapy and helping others.
My understanding of kinesiology prior to enrolling in the course, is that I knew kinesiology is the scientific study of human movement , and that it involved sports and exercise and physical activity.I 'm interested in kinesiology , because I love anything that has to do with sports, and to get more of a detailed report on how human movement plays such a big role in the sports world.I have played sports for most of my life my interests our football, basketball, baseball.I started football my eighth grade year, and continued to play threw high school, until I tore my meniscus and mcl so I skipped my junior year of football , and came back my senior year had a really great season started at right offensive tackle.Missing my junior year in football really took a toll on me ,I could have gained so much more experience playing if so. I 've played basketball probably since the third grade , and continued to play threw high school even threw my knee injury ,I played travel basketball as well a
The subject came so naturally to me and I decided to continue my enrollment in sports medicine courses throughout my high school education. As my senior year of high school concluded, I explored the idea of a career in physical therapy by job shadowing at the Idaho Sports Medicine Institute (ISMI). After observing the PTs at ISMI, I was immediately drawn to a career in physical medicine. A few months later, I started my education at Idaho State and felt exactly like I did when I started sports medicine in high school. I was absolutely enthralled with my classes, naturally excelled in all of my coursework, and always had PT school in the back of my mind. I knew I would have to work extremely hard to develop a strong undergraduate transcript and build a competitive application. Throughout my undergraduate career, I have worked relentlessly to maintain academic excellence and currently have a 3.91 GPA. I have also succeeded in making the College of Education’s Dean’s List for five semesters. Unfortunately, I did not receive the honor of making the Dean’s List on one occasion, as I was .02 points below the minimum
Over the past summer, I had the privilege of meeting some of the best physical therapists due to my hip injury. They were charismatic, funny, helpful, and I loved being around them. During my senior year of high school, I was not interested in pursuing physical therapy. The physical therapists I met definitely changed my mind, and I am heavily leaning towards practicing physical therapy. In the field of physical therapy, there are many types of sub-specialty practices that I could pursue. I believe orthopedic physical therapy is what I want to specialize in due to what I have experienced in my life.
I am a senior who wishes to progress with their education. I have a head start in college as I have had access to dual admission in both a technical college and my local college. I wish to continue my education by taking part in my local college South Georgia State College, and continue at Armstrong Atlantic State University. I plan to enter the healthcare field as a nurse, and then consider becoming a physician assistant. I hope to use the knowledge acquired in these fields to help the needy in my country of origin by constructing a local infirmary.
Personal space, body language, and overall interaction between the participants in the gym was something that I hadn't paid enough attention to in the past, from the distance I could see that their interests. The intimate couples that I noticed in the gym seemed again sought to have created a private space for them by erecting invisible barriers through their private body language directed only at each other, resulting in considerable more space between these couples and other groups of people in the gym. It was a clear and present body language of please do not bother us attitude left a sense of diffused power that would be involved power relationships that operate without covert commands and requests. The dynamics of the couple was something that was very obvious, in that I was able to note the dominant and the submissive person. The person who had a tendency to meet the needs and the one who had the ability to be demanding.
I have accomplished a lot in a short period; however, my journey is not complete until I continue my education. Essentially, this degree will help foster my growth and career success. My passion and dedication will speak for itself. My hard work and determination will prevail and I am a fit more than the next applicant because I have the passion, experience, critical thinking and analytical skills needed to complete this program through successfully arguing my capstone in front of a board or committee. My goals are definitely aligned with this program and I hope my next read is an acceptance letter from the admissions council.
Since starting this class, introduction to health care, I have begun to think about what the future holds for me and what I will pursue with my college degree. At this point in time my career goal is to become a physician assistant in orthopedic surgery. I plan on working in a hospital setting where I can continue to learn and practice my profession. Five years after all my schooling and achieving my license, professionally I see myself working at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, New York, which is a teaching hospital. I would be working on and with patients, while still learning as I practice my previous knowledge. I would be seeing patients with injuries such as an ankle sprain, evaluating x-rays, and possibly sitting on and
