The two who were actually doing all the walking had finally lost feeling in every part of their exposed bodies. The dreaming boy, however, they did not know. Kile had checked for a heartbeat a little while ago, and found it, but how much longer that would last, he had no idea. It was then Zoe herd a honking, and stopped him, tugging on his sleeve. Excited, they turned around from whence they came, praying that this wasn’t so much as an illusion. Kile slipped on the ice, falling with Vince in his arms. Zoe outstretched her hand to help Kile up, and picked up …show more content…
Sir! Let us in! Please!” Still no answer. Kile was now at her side and he could see who was in the car. His blood ran cold before it soon began to boil. Upon the man seeing Kile, his face turned from anger to that of an old friend. The young man yelled at his old boss,” Let us in!” No words could be herd, but he mouthed something like,” Kile! So good to see you! Yes! Come in!” and with that, he pressed the button. Kile opened the back seat door for Zoe, allowing the snow and rush of cold air to seep in. She laid Vince down gingerly in the middle so that he could have the warm air pulsating from the front heaters and the back. “Come on, come on! Don’t let the cold air get in!” He hurried her. Meanwhile, Kile had hobbled over to the passenger side and put his good foot in first. He glared at his old boss with pure hate. His deep purple eyes never left Mr. Johnson. Kile shut the door shortly after Zoe had found herself doing the same. Red had already entered her cheeks as she pressed her hands against the hot air conditioner. She sighed in gratitude, oblivious as to what was truly going
“Listen,” the grandmother almost screamed, “I know you are a good man. You don’t look a bit like you have blood. I know you must come from nice people.” It all happened so fast. The car had rolled and wrecked.
His heart began to beat faster as Daisy's white face came up to his own. He knew that when he kissed this girl, and forever wed his unutterable visions to her perishable breath, his mind would never romp again like the mind of God. So he waited, listening for a moment longer to the tuning-fork that had been struck upon a star. Then he kissed her. At his lips' touch she blossomed for him like a flower and the incarnation was complete.
In the second last paragraph, Rash states just before Sinkler got attacked, "Someone whistled near the ridge and the rasping stopped" (1), which is oddly familiar to the first time he met Lucy, "The woman gave a brisk whistle and the farmer paused and looked their way.
The gentle early morning breeze blew across their faces like the whispering winds sway the trees. They had been walking all night long, and finally made it across the border. My mother’s hair was ruffled up, her nose had a steady trickle of blood running into her open mouth. She grunted softly as she lifted her hand up. Tears streamed down her eyes. She knew she had finally made it to her destination.
Before he could ponder any further a heavy hand fell on his shoulder. Demetrius’s chest seized in fear. He threw his head back to view the culprit to be none other than Zoe, the other slave of the house. Demetrius sighed and placed a hand over his heart. Zoe shook her head condescendingly and pointed behind her in a gesture for Demetrius to get back to work. Demetrius didn’t fight the suggestion and stood easily. The two quietly pitter pattered down the hall and down the stairs to the

She was beginning to recognize this thing that was approaching to possess her, and she was striving to beat it back with her will--as powerless as her two white slender hands would have been. When she abandoned herself a little whispered word escaped her slightly parted lips. She said it over...

According to Witkavitch (2010) life is about change and as human beings we’re always changing, growing, transforming and transitioning our lives. Our whole life is made up of change. It is relative to time and a natural component of our everyday life. Things change, they grow, they develop, they die, and something else shows up. There are many changes that can occur during a person’s lifetime. For instance, we all were once kids who changed into adults. With that said, as we age, dreams change. There will always be something new in life and we can’t expect everything to fall in place as we wish because the future is constantly changing. In the age of globalization, information and communication revolution changes are affecting our lifestyles, our ways of thinking, feelings and the way we act. Life changes everyday for a person in some way. Just like we expect the seasons to change and children to grow older. Some changes are very small and can affect your life in an enormous way. However, other events can be very important and could change your whole life such as getting married, getting arrested, having a baby, and even losing a close friend or relative. The important events that altered my life are coming the United States, playing club soccer, becoming a U.S. citizen, going to graduate school and studying abroad. In this in paper, I will discuss how these phases transformed my life physically and mentally.

The only one who truly deserved empathy was Azairah, and as he pulled out on to the deserted street, and that emotion was evident in his expression. He maintained his grip on the wheel, and foot on the gas as he scanned her face, which faded in and out of shadow under the passing lights. "How do I feel?" He repeated her question, almost inaudibly, and pulled his gaze back to the road, away from the blood-soaked woman beside him. Could he describe it? Just as it appeared he may not respond, the Army veteran took a deep breath, and began to talk. "I feel
