Recommendation – Bot to Help Reduce Waiting Time in Health Facilities:
For the Healthcare industry, I would recommend making a bot that would make waiting in clinics less. Individuals in the U.S have to wait long to receive medical attention. According to ABC NEWS, physicians in the emergency room say that the issue is getting worse; people have to wait long to get medical attention. Patients are treated according to the severity of their condition and not the time they waited in the waiting room. This causes many issues to rise with health and getting proper treatment on time. For example a child who is sick can catch other diseases faster due to his/her immune system being low.
Decision Criteria - Best solution based on these Decision Criteria’s

This is due to it cutting down wait time in waiting rooms and helping with being more efficient. The Kik bot makes communication better between doctors and patients. Instead of waiting in line patient scan message the doctors and figure solutions out and if necessary to be seen they can be brought in for medical care.
This relates back to the second and last decision criteria and ties in with PEST because when looking at the political factor of PEST. Healthcare in U.S.A is not prepaid which causes patients to wait and fill out healthcare documents. This procedure takes time, which can be a hassle for individuals trying to get medical attention on time.
Another factor that is affected is the social factor. Centers for Disease Control says, individuals go to emergency rooms for minor problems, which cause larger ones to be neglected at times (Centers for Disease Control, 2016). This affects the social factor because patients do not like to wait when they are in critical conditions or are in need of medical help. This causes the emergency rooms and other waiting rooms to loss their reputation. The Kik bot helps with the issue and makes the waiting time less and is creative and innovative. The bot also eliminates the pay-by-procedure system by having patients prepay before they come in to see the doctor so they don’t have to wait longer then necessary. Overall it covers all the decision criteria’s listed
On a global scale, the United States is a relatively wealthy country of advanced industrialization. Unfortunately, the healthcare system is among the costliest, spending close to 18% of gross domestic product (GDP) towards funding healthcare (2011). No universal healthcare coverage is currently available. United States healthcare is currently funded through private, federal, state, and local sources. Coverage is provided privately and through the government and military. Nearly 85% of the U.S. population is covered to some extent, leaving a population of close to 48 million without any type of health insurance. Cost is the primary reason for lack of insurance and individuals foregoing medical care and use of prescription medications.
... a lot of criticism about the wait times; some have been known to wait in the emergency room for four hours. Although on the other hand, there is an upside to having to wait. By prioritizing the high risk patients verses the lower risk patients, help to eliminate patient mortality rates. The government has since stepped in to help alleviate the long wait times. Unfortunately, the wait times on average are just as bad, if not worse here in the states, with one important difference. In Canada no one gets turned away, while in the states, if you do not have the proper documentation according to your plan, you may end up waiting double the amount of time.
Many people of which do not know, or even understand programs, or funds that can assist them in these situations they are in. People not knowing or cannot afford health care is a huge problem especially considering the fact that many Americans are elderly or suffer from acute disease, disabilities, and even mental disorders. Without proper health care many of these Americans will suffer tremendously and their symptoms may develop even worse without proper medication and help. This cannot be given without affordable health care.
Technological advances enable nurses to provide accurate, timely care for a patient. This is due to the fact that these advances enable doctors and nurses to quickly diagnose, explain and predict the health-illness status of a patient, thus allowing health care professionals to spend less time finding answers, and more time providing quality care. For nurses, this includes spending time with the patient establishing rapport, communication and a trusting relationship for optimum clinical care.
The negative aspects of health care show us the many different issues brought up today. One of the biggest issues of Medicare is the extended wait times. This is because of the people who consistently take advantage of the health care system by going to hospitals for issues that could be treated by a doctor in a medical clinic (Ireland, 2013).
Health expenditures can be separated into different categories, such as, in-patient care, out-patient care, pharmaceuticals, public health and administration, etc. The hospital market in the United States is uncoordinated, duplicating specialized care without enough volume in most of them to make procedures affordable (Govindarajan & Ramamurti, 2013). American healthcare is expensive for the following reasons. First, administrative costs are high due to poor management between the providers and the newly implemented Electronic Health Record (EHR), which could decrease wasteful services. It can also help if patients want to go to another hospital where they can easily have another physician.
reimbursement determinations. As a result, the camaraderie among physicians has developed into a more aggressive approach to impede competition (Shi & Singh, 2012). Little information is shared with patients in regards to procedures or disease control. The subjects are forced to rely on the internet for enlightenment on the scope of their illnesses (Shi & Singh, 2012). Furthermore, the U.S. health care system fails to provide adequate knowledge on billing strategies for operations and other medical practices. The cost in a free system is based on supply and demand and is known in advance of hospital admission (Shi & Singh, 2012). The need for new technology is another characteristic that is of interest when considering the health care system. Technology is often v...
As technology continues to evolve, so does the need for healthcare facilities to continually maintain a higher level of competence that runs parallel to electronic and scientific advancement. Comparatively, the structure of hi-tech facilities, such as medical centers and clinics prepared with new amenities, has enhanced the industry scale of communities by working in the healthcare arena. Likewise, technological innovations which help diagnose a variety of infections and disorders has helped in assisting patients in receiving increased quality care. As a result, patient care as a whole has positively affected the population over the last decade. Furthermore, it only makes sense that more personalized and precise problem-solving methods and procedures will be devised in the future.
Healthcare plays an important role in almost every person’s life at one point or another. Many times, one can get caught without, or underinsured and it can be detrimental to their livelihood. With the rising cost of healthcare, it is likely that having a national healthcare policy in place, and as an individual, being able to afford and obtain adequate health insurance has not been required until now. With the new national healthcare plan, it is required for all citizens to obtain and maintain some sort of public or private insurance policy. The rising costs can be attributed to many things. A significant reason for the astronomical cost of health care is because of the staggering amount of uninsured or underinsured individuals receiving medical attention and almost many never paying the bill. Those who do have insurance have seen a gradual increase in their premiums and deductibles to make up for this.
In this demand model there is a presumption that consumers command a level of quality of care when they are “sick, injured, or otherwise in pain and that physicians are available to these consumers once they become patients,” (Samuels, 2012, p. 16). Therefore, in this model, those that are covered by an insurance is a consumer and does not become a patient until they are in need of care. Samuels’ (2012) describes illness-based demand further by stating that as consumers prior to seeking out healthcare, whether a practitioner’s office, a clinic, urgent care, or hospitals’ emergency room, they progressively become sicker. Prior to the event this consumer has not yet been identified by the system. Illness-based model remains the emergency services
Hospital bills are very expensive and for the people that don’t have insurance will be stuck with a huge bill that they more than likely can’t pay and will be put out the hospital as soon as the doctors see fit. They won’t just be able to lay around in a hospital room.
The real problem with the health care system in this country is not just the people running it but mainly the massive pit of debt it is continually digging. America spends around 17%, which is about $2.5 trillion of our GDP on health care alone! It is safe to say we spend nearly more than any other country out there. Where is all of this money going though, are they just giving it away to those in need of free medicine or people who cant pay there doctors bills? Most of the money spent is on regulations, research on medicines and failures of medicines that may have not made the “cut” to be on the market.
Health care has always been an interesting topic all over the world. Voltaire once said, “The art of medicine consists of amusing the patient while nature cures the disease.” It may seem like health care that nothing gets accomplished in different health care systems, but ultimately many trying to cures diseases and improve health care systems.
There are many reasons for poor medical health care in the United States. As mentioned by Dr. Steve Beller that many healthcare centers’ concentration is on raising the costs of the medicine and treatment rather than the health of the patients (Beller, 2008). Patients cannot afford the medicine or the costs of the health centers; nonetheless, the treatment is very expensive although it does not provide the needed and effective treatment and care to the patient. Furthermore, as directed by Kaiser Family Foundation in 2001 that constant racial and ethnic differences also have an impact on the quality of health care provided to the citizens. Studies showed that fifty-five percent of the black citizens receive poor medical healthcare than the white, depending on the do...
Technology has also helped medicine with the use of robots. At the Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Florida, Jeff Lannigan oversees 1,300 prescriptions a day. [2] That is a huge amount of prescriptions. Now he has a new kind of help. Spencer is a one million dollar robot that dispenses prescriptions at speedy rates. It takes Spencer three and a half hours to do what it took pharmacists 24 hours to do. This new technology also eliminates the room for human error. This means that people will have the right medication every time. If you are a customer waiting for a prescription than this technology will defiantly better society. Some people say that this new technology will hurt society because it will eliminate jobs for pharmacists. This is not true. The article says, “Instead of spending the whole day dispensing medicines, pharmacists have time to do what they’re trained to do—take care of patients.
