This disorder affects many children across the world. Autism does not have a cure of any kind, and there is no way to prevent it. There are medical treatments that help with the disorder, but it does not work on every patient. Some of the many disorders autism can cause are the ability to speak or interact with other people, and to have the ability to function or can not have control over ones body. With these disabilities, it can cause many behavioral issues when a child is growing up with autism. Although autistic behaviors are the consequence of a static disorder of brain function, a child’s character changes with maturation and appropriate intervention (Rapin,1991). Autism starts in a person’s childhood and can stay with them throughout a lifetime, but some last only a few years. It is very rare for autism to wear off and just go away. In some cases of autism, children have developed it and then in their mid-teen years it disappeared or subsided. No one knows why or how this disorder works and how it can fully affects a person’s body. Today there are still possible factors that could cause autism or factors to help prevent it. These disorders are measured in varying degrees by difficulties in social interaction, communication and repetitive behaviors. There is no one type of autism, just like there is no one cause.
